Which is ultimately the reason i made this video manual for the SQ8 mini camera.
In the video i go through all the features of the SQ8 camera.
I show you how to use all its functions including night vision and motion sensor
I also show you how to access your video files on your pc after conecting the SQ8 via the USB cable.

This might be obvious to most, but I watched the video and tried to perform the functions as you were explaining them, and none of them worked. I was very confused. Then, I realized I don't have the memory card for mine yet, so I'm pretty sure that I'll be successful after I get a memory card for it. So if anyone is having the same problem, it's an incredibly easy fix! Thank you so much for the clear instructions, that pamphlet is a MESS!
Clear, concise instructions, thanks. The manual may as well have been in Chinese, as you say.
Exactly worst instruction manual I've ever seen. This video is not much better, just in Scottish English and his pronunciation is off. The awkward pauses when speaking does not help either. Neat camera, though. I'm surprised it's not all plastic.
I,am definitely not tech savvy but you make a great video that even I could understand. Very well made and easy to for even me I wish everybody made instructional videos like you did. Thanks for making it now am brave enough to try cause I couldn’t understand their instructions either. 😊

While in motion detection mode if it’s not touched you mentioned it turns itself off, now will it turn itself off while in motion detection mode after there being no sign of motion. I’m hoping it stay on honestly

I did try to press the mode once button for 1080 p but it just turn red which means for taking pic. is that the only way to record in 1080 p?

when I try to record in 1080p and press the mode button it's steady red and not red and blue
To change from recording 720 to 1080 I can never get the flashing red/ blue.

seems like you are quite familiar with this cam. I would like to know can i attach the cam with the cable provided to my usb on my computer and look at the Live video on my computer etc? or have just bought a piece that can only be viewed on TV through the yellow connector!?? I am perplexed on this... any information would be great!!!

Hey, it reads '' GENERAL AUDIO'' UNDER USB DRIVES, DOESN'T OPEN ANYTHING ELSE. ANY HELP?
Mine will not record very long in 720p mode with a 16gb SD card (or any size). I want it to keep recording, but about 5 minutes is all it will record. The SD card still has 10gb or more free space, so any idea why it does this? Thanks mate!
Many of these cheapies have a very limited file size per video. Some stop when that file size is reached and some create another file to keep recording. When you want to play back the latter you will have to select the files 1 after the other. All a PITA but if you want more convenient operation (in a much bigger unit) splash out several hundred dollars on a GoPro69 (or whatever the current version is.) 😜😉

I just got a sq8 Camara. My camera only videos in one mode, just wondering if it has just the one mode for videoing or is it not working properly.
Try getting a little pin and reset the device. There is a little hole with an R beside it, use the pin the push the button inside the hole.
How long should the batteries last in motion detection mode

I'm following your steps, but my camera doesn't react as yours...Can I operate with the camera while it's on charge?
Im not sure but you should be able to use it while charging. If you have any issues try using a pin to hit the reset button.

Which class of micro sd card works best with this camera? I just got one of these cameras in the mail and the only micro sd card I've got right now is a SanDisk 16 gig class 10. Still shots working good, video good but unexpectedly pauses a bit on playback sometimes. A couple of the video's I shot wouldn't play, prompt said "file not supported". The were right in the file lineup next to others that play, I'd just shot them a couple of minutes before, each video about a minute to a minute and a half. Is it possible to have too high a class of card with it? Would a 2,4 or 6 class do better?
Mine keeps flashing blue/red and won't stop when I turn the camera on. This lil camera is a big pain in the butt! Why is it flashing?
try getting a little pin and hit the tiny reset button, see if that fixes it

The yellow plug that came with the camera. Can u use that yellow plug into a tv or any kind of device to see what u are recording like a regular video camera?
Yep just plug it into the back of your TV into the yellow AV slot then using your tv remote change the source to AV.

When you purchased the mini camera, did you have to buy the ads card separately?
Can the files (pictures, video) be downloaded to a cell phone, directly from the camera?
Probably if you have the correct cable to transfer files from the camera to the mobile device.

If I want to listen to Megadeath or Mozart when I'm watching a tutorial video I can play it through my iPhone headphones. If it's stuck over the video audio I can't get rid of the crap! You say to go to standby mode and tap mode button once to enter photo mode. then you say to literally do the same thing to enter 1080P mode..

Do you know how to cancel the date and time auto-appearing on all videos?
In the TIMEREST file (it's in the root folder of the camera's memory card) change the Y to N letter and save it.

Continuous use without stopping it would probably last a couple hours but im not entirely sure to be honest.

My camera did not come with the TF card and I don't know how or where to buy one, so the $38 for the camera was a waste of money.
Get a card from Walmart, Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot/OfficeMax, any of the drugstore chains, etc. They're cheap. Be careful inserting it into the camera because its easy to put it in crooked.

Plug it into usb port using the supplied cable & it will find it as another drive.

Yep, that's the 1 REAL DEALBREAKER on this little camera! Pretty brainless NOT to have any led indication that it is still recording and not just dead or shut down. 😉
This is the problem with all of this Chinese tech. Press this button for so many seconds and this happens. Press it again for this time and it starts doing this. Press this and this happens.... On and on. Flashing lights and remembering to press this button and that happens. Just make the things one touch. Press the one button and it turns on and starts recording. Press it again and it stops and powers off. I will be buying a go pro session. There is no need for all the bull complex rubbish. Why would you need to photo things with this when you can do a grab later on. Utter rubbish and hard work.

Useless camera. motion recording doesn't work. the recording quality is very poor. Managing with 2 buttons quite complicated. If it would have bluetooth and app to manage it it would be more useful
