You guys are making me want to try flying again. That old fuel motor plane that would never start, then my immediate crash put me off this hobby for over 20 years.
Blade 450X is my sentimental favorite - my friends and I try to fly to scale and set up real challenges with small trees obstacles and small areas to land , hold and take of from iykwim .......... when we aren't flying our gliders by the ocean cliffs with a stiff onshore wind ; P
5-10mph winds is a REAL over-exaggeration. Try 2-4mph wind MAX my friend. Battery life is long on this helicopter and yes it is good for beginners because of all the safety features. However, i still feel people should learn on a coaxial 3.5 channel helicopter first. Anything from Syma is ROCK solid in crashes and yes you WILL have crashes. However, the main thing is you will learn controls albeit the hard way. One should never start with a collective pitch helicopter you have to work your way up to that. The same goes for the remote 3.5 and then work your way up to 4, 5, and 6 channel and above.
If the top of the helicopter is protected, can it go to the ceiling and push up on it? Hypothetically, in a light-weight room, what would stop it from pushing the room all the way to space?
Just happen to come across your channel by accident really. I was looking for a review for a rc helicopter, and your video popped up. I have since watched 3 other of your videos about rc planes, and they are really cool I have to say. But I am a beginner and really like the helicopters because where I live there is allot of room, but there is also a sh** ton of trees around too, so a helicopter would be a better choice. Given the control and hovering ability. I do want to get into the rc helicopter scene, but I don't have allot of money to spend doing it. Being a single parent, and living on disability I have to watch every dime, and I can't be foolishly spending money. I need to make it count. If there was one helicopter you could recommend what would you suggest?? I would like to keep it under 125$. Oh, bnf and rtf, what does that stand for? Great video I loved just watching it, and wishing I had just one helicopter to fly. Keep up the good work and I subscribed to your channel to keep an eye out for any new videos you might be coming out with.
Thanks you so much for covering choppers for someone wanting to get one. Do some RC helicopters have cameras for filming? Or are they capable of lifting a small camera? It sure would be nice to hover overhead and film an RC car. Probably not something possible for one person but I'm just curious.
I have the Blade Nano S2 and the Blade 230 S V2. I'd misplaced where I had the Nano, and found it a couple of days ago. I put it in the air for a few minutes yesterday. I'm still not much of a heli pilot, but I've been practicing on the 230 S in Realflight. I think the biggest issue is not trying to fly the heli the same way I fly an airplane. :p
Took me years and years to fly a CP heli, and as you say trying to fly it like an RC plane doesn't work! I was told by a friend who is an excellent Heli pilot that I just need to stay calm and control the tail, rudder/tail authority as such is so important on heli's. I can now fly Helicopters but not got onto 3d, and wont for a while!
I watched a lot of reviews on the FW200. I wanted to buy it, but too many reviewers complained about the time it takes for it to pick up gps. Also, is the first heli brushed or brushless.
The Blade sounds interesting. Of course being "Mr. Scale lite"....I would gravitate to the military versions. Sorry I haven't been about much. Life is super busy (helping my son on his families farm). Hoping all is well with Abby and your new "wing man".
He man ? You know how all these planes and copters basicaly from china are made? How their mechanics work and how all the parts are light but firm and adequite for their purpose. And spit offa assembly line thats the trick that makes it affordable. Ok? Take all that and lay it on the table. Now ponder the thought, everybody could have a robot in their house with the same type of engineering and affordable. What you think?
wow, I remember as a kid I used to watch you guys before Christmas to see if I was getting a chopper you guys reviewed. Christmas day my chopper got stuck in my sisters hair and I dropped the hobby 😂
I can tell you all this, your children are going to have a blast when they get older with all your RC cars, planes, Trains and Automobiles and helicopters😂
That’s honestly the main reason it’s not on the list. Sort of pricey for a true beginner helicopter and everything. It was hard to choose 3, but we feel great about these choices 👍😁😎⚓️
There is several descent helicopters with the same tech even my own Trex 500 in a B105 fuselage has the same tech I am using a Flywing setup and works perfect
ive always enjoyed this channel. The chemistry between you two is great. I am thinking of dabbling in the helicopter hobby so i am looking for a cheap beginner friendly one.
Still decent picks although the beloved 230s has fallen out of favor with newer better ( as in , build ) competition. My predictions is the 230s will be the 2wd Stampede in the near future , around for a long time . 👍
Have you tried the FW450 it's a bit bigger but with the same features. You can also ad the H1 controller to any fbl helicopter from a 450 to a 700. My Trex 500 flies like a Drone.
Greetings, I am currently researching RC helicopters with a military or spy drone aesthetic. I've come across various models such as the Eachine 110, C127AI, and C128. Could anyone offer insights into which of these is the most superior option? I understand that the C128 features a 1080p camera, but lacks the advanced AI tracking capabilities present in the C127AI, which has a 720p camera. Additionally, I believe the Eachine 110 might be an older model compared to the other two. Theres also the 4DRC L1 Fighter Drone that looks kinda similar. All three options seem to be in a similar price range, so I'm particularly interested in feature comparisons. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
hi Nate, i am new on the channel, and new to the hobby. i would really like to purchase the viper s6 but idk which batteries to buy and all those things. do you ahve tips for me? I really have no idea hahaah, greetings from italy, hope you can help me :)
All in good time! For some, it is still satisfying to fly this way too. I know I’ll never be able to fly like pro helicopter pilots (most likely) but to them, they probably find simple stunts unsatisfying. We all have our goals and levels of comfort and enjoyment 😁😎⚓️
Fly-Wing heli's look great to me, I got a few drone's now so one of these would be a great next purchase, but which to ho for the 200 or the 450, I guess the 200 is smaller so easier to transport to the field (on my bike) and it's cheaper so this would be the logical choice, as I can't fly aerobatics with a heli , this is a good way to try it!!! Fly-Wing heli's look like a quality product, anyone out there who has one could you recommend ? Rob
Really love your content. I'm thinking of getting the WLToys V950 but have never seen anyone review it. I would like to see you guys check out the WLToys V950. Have a great night.
That’s a pretty dated helicopter at this point, I believe. If I were you, I’d seriously look at “number 2” on this list as a very comparable, but WAY better helicopter 👍😁😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors thank you for the input. I will definitely check that one out. If I decide to pick it up I will definitely use your link. Thanks again & have a great night.
Don’t get. Very not worth it in every way. Get either the goosky s2 or the omp m2 evo. Trust me you will not be disappointed. But I HIGHLY recommend you to train in a sim for some time till you get comfortable with the orientation of the because these small are easy to lose track of. If you need any help you are free to ask
I currently have a e160. After 9 flights I’ve even done an inverted hover or two! (Spent time in a simulator before I got it). Definitely considering a fw200 or a 230s. The 230s definitely seems like a more cabible heli. I rarely see people flying the fw200 in 3d because apparently it’s not as locked in. But I really like all the tech. Tough decision.
Hi, I hope all is well. These past two years I have bought two helicopters for my fiance. Well one, one helicopter and one drone. For the most part both failures. The helicopter, inexpensive; $49.99 too fragile broke easy. The drone expensive $499 too difficult, crashed and burned. Do you have one that you guys personally like, I can buy. Preferably $200 up. ? One that you recommend that won’t miss.
Howdy. I've been wanting to thank you guys for all the amazing videos you have put out. I've been following you for years and have seen your channel grow. I was initially attracted to you as we share the same last name. Also, I have a nephew named Nathan. Just a coincidence I'm sure, as he is from a small town in I'll. Anyway not to carry on, keep up the great content.
Does the E120 turn upside down? I know that it is just a beginner to learn the basics, but is there an option for a skilled pilot to turn it upside down?
No it doesnt, if youre looking for a good collective pitch heli that is small, cheap and can do all of the stunts but still have autolevel and crash recovery i recommend the omp m1, they are easy to get ahold of, they fly absolutely amazing and they are tough as nails. Even when you do manage to break something the parts are dirt cheap. Absolutely the best micro on the market for all skill levels.
@@subramanianannamalai8333 Absolutely, I can't recommend omp enough, I fly helicopters almost exclusively and the omp m1 is the best financial decision I've ever made for this hobby.
@@imothy boring? 3D? Lol ok... I’ve been flying rc since flybars, and I can tell you that drones require no skill, never have. We laugh at it, flying a Heli is a skill, I bet you’d wad one up in under 8 secs...
I've gotta say, the number one pick on this list is absolutely the worst choice for a beginner who wants to start this hobby. It is very neat that it has the technology to fly itself but for someone who wants to learn how to fly and progress, that technology is only going to hold them back and teach bad habits that are going to be very hard to work past. I love ya'lls videos but this list needs some deeper thought.
wait did i hear you right that it cost like $75 to $500 jesus christ it's kinda expensive rc helicopter or rc chopper which Mr Schwarzenegger calls it.
Bought one and just sent it back today. Instructions were completely in Chinese and relatively useless. I was able to make one flight on it and then got the rapid flashing lights indicating some sort of receiver failure. Kind of what I would expect from something coming from China at that price point.
I’d do that if companies would normalize the price and not change it. People get WAY More Mad when I say a price, they click the link, and it’s different than what I said. Our videos will outlast this insane economy…. 😉⚓️

@ first: your shop looks awesome 👍🏼‼️ The Bölkow / B-105 is very cool! I am searching so long for a small MD500D 5-Bladed Rotorheaded 🚁 (Funscale, not bigger than 250) with a good auto-stabilization System or Hover-Mode & powerful enough to fly outside also when it’s not the perfect flying weather;) Maybe you guys can give me a help & where I can find a good shop overseas?. With kindest regards and Greetings from Bavaria/Germany ✌🏼 PS: i know, a lot of wishes, so it would be also helpful to know where the first 🚁 is available in my country?. thx =)
ist ja ganz nett wie die Kleinen sich in der Luft bewegen, hat aber überhaupt nichts mit dem RC Heli fliegen zu tun! Eines ist ein Spielzeug, das andere eine Waffe
Uhh. the only 'Beginner' Helicopter in this video, is the Blade 230. The two others will not teach you, anything about how a real RC helicopter is to fly. They can be flown by anyone, and it's like flying a drone. A real rc heli, you will have to learn to correct every movement by your self. And a beginner trying a real rc heli, after practicing with the toy heli's with auto everything, is in for a huge surprice, and will most likely give up, on the hobby before they get proper into it.
I strongly disagree, while respecting your opinion very much! I believe these technologies will help teach controls and orientation. Quick question, assuming you are a decent helicopter pilot: How many helis have you crashed while learning your skill? Or possibly, have you ever flown and learned on a flight simulator? We also have to consider the fact, that this level of flying may be more than enough for some, and flying in this way could be very enjoyable for them 😁 This is such a wonderful hobby, with so many levels of experience. I try to remember to be respectful of that, and am just glad it can now appeal to more people than ever before. I hope you are making the best of your hobby, and allowing others to enjoy theirs as well. Happy Flying 👍😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors They will teach you about orientation, but the controls, are not right as on a real rc heli. You do not learn to re- correct all your own movements, and that's where most people tend to 'crash N' burn.' You are right, i started out with one like these, fly itself thingy's. And my first real 3D heli, was a huge surprice for me. I had the impression that it had to be damaged or broken, since i wasn't able to control it, like At All. It was a reallty hard and steep learning curve that i actually managed to learn. But about my crashing skills. I have onely had two i dodn't crash, out of about 20. One was a Goblin 700, and i was terrified of it every time i flew it, so i never got it into hard 3D, which it was more than capable of. But even today, i crash my 500 T-Rex from time to time. But now it's down to experimentations and a eye sight that are going in the wrong direction. (I'm + 50 years old.) And i do still use the simulator to keep my skills up to level. But the other two heli's you show, you could learn the same skills, with a DJI drone, or any other like that. I do appreciate that people like you, keeps the intrest up, in the hobby, trying to get new people into the amazing world of flying. And i do watch your videos. 🙂Greetings from Denmark.
8:23 so whats the point of the hobby here to flip switches and the heli doind some manuvers?? put time and effort on the sim to learn how to do it!!its like cheating on a fps game shooting everyone on head!!
That’s one way to look at it! Some people felt the same way when automatic transmissions in vehicles were invented, but people still get from point A to point B with a smile on their faces! Also, calculators… I mean really!? That just takes the fun out of Math 😉😂 Come on man, technology keeps the hobby alive whether you like it or not. As long as you are having fun, don’t judge others for also having fun in their own way. Or do you feel that I am wrong? 😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors even if you like automatic transmition you have to pass the test on manual!! at least in my country!! you pass you test and after you drive what you like, its not the same..i mean for me i used to fly 3d.im looking small electric helis cause now days they are very fun to fly 3d,but not to flick a switch its not fun!! same with drones you press return to home and just coming back i have to do nothing so whats the point?
I agree. I like rc helicopters because it's a challenge learning to fly. I despise drones and the like. They basically fly themselves. Its because of idiots with drones that we now have to pay to register our models with the FAA.
@@Mrveescuba I always shake my head at you people that think that flying these helis are "cheating". What part don't you understand that these GPS helis will in fact fly 3D if you chose to "flip the necessary switch"! That would be 3D where you actually have to pay attention...as in left is right, right is left, up is down, and down is expensive. These GPS helis allow you to ease into the 3D thing gradually should you choose.
The helicopter with GPSIT's not even flying it's just watching you might as well just program a whole airbag routine push your button and watch it lazy Americans once again....

what model was that supercool blackhawk ? does it fly well?
Nice Video! Can you test the FMS Rafale 80mm or the FMS Viper 70mm V2? Would appreciate that!
Thanks! We will definitely see what we can do! The weather has been getting worse lately, but I’ve looked at those. Might just pick them up 👍😁😎⚓️

Thank you very much! 👍😁😎⚓️
You should try this new one that came out for Christmas, volitar , it even has auto take off
I watched a lot of reviews on the FW200.
Late squad 😁
Good picks guys 👍🏻✌🏻
Thanks Erric! 👍😎⚓️
Gotta love the saylors! They make everything fun
I like the e 120 ot looks like its got room for passengers. And the 230 s both prices i like within reach
Hi Nate, which one flies better, the eachine e110 or e120?
I can tell you all this, your children are going to have a blast when they get older with all your RC cars, planes, Trains and Automobiles and helicopters😂
Good video guys. Great to see Popeye again. 😀
Thanks Ian!! 🐕👍😁😎⚓️
Surprised the Blackhawk didn’t make the list! I liked that one personally. My wallet is keeping me from owning one!
Good information .. Thanks 👍
Absolutely! Thanks for watching! 👍😁😎⚓️
I missed Popeye great to see him make an appearance! 😊 Love your videos Abby and Nate...Happy Holidays. 😊
Have you tried the FW450 it's a bit bigger but with the same features.
You can also ad the H1 controller to any fbl helicopter from a 450 to a 700. My Trex 500 flies like a Drone.
How does the fw 450 perform on smack 3d or hard 3d?
@@Twx97 I don't do 3D just sport and scale. But in 3d mode it's a normal helicopter.
Love your videos. I have a question, do you need a license to fly a UA? All my google searches seem to point that way.
I suppose it depends on your local laws but generally no, I've never seen anywhere that requires a special license to fly unmanned aircraft
I would like to see more track type vehicles.
We really wish we had access to a race track! It would definitely change the amount of track vehicles on our channel for sure 👍😁😎⚓️
Hay Nate can I ask how much is that AMA? I have the Dbxl gas desert buggy thanks mark😊
Greetings,
I am currently researching RC helicopters with a military or spy drone aesthetic.
The fw is a fun toy but the satisfaction is learning to fly a heli properly with no stabilisation.
All in good time! For some, it is still satisfying to fly this way too. I know I’ll never be able to fly like pro helicopter pilots (most likely) but to them, they probably find simple stunts unsatisfying. We all have our goals and levels of comfort and enjoyment 😁😎⚓️
Nice
Thanks for watching!! 👍💯😎⚓️
Thanks Jeff! If you have any questions regarding this, or any helicopter please let us know. I’ll do my best to help!
Congratulations on the upcoming bubs!
Thank you! 😎⚓️
Hello Abbey you looking great today. Brilliant video
👍😁😎⚓️
@@jonahmccraw4129 thanks a lot! I had no idea. Thanks for the detailed info.
@@subramanianannamalai8333 Absolutely, I can't recommend omp enough, I fly helicopters almost exclusively and the omp m1 is the best financial decision I've ever made for this hobby.
Minute one i hope i see the OMP M1

Thanks Benjamin! 😁⚓️🐕
Damm upside down mode, take my fkn money🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
wait did i hear you right that it cost like $75 to $500 jesus christ it's kinda expensive rc helicopter or rc chopper which Mr Schwarzenegger calls it.
These are lower end. You pay for what you get. Enthusiasts and hobbyists are happy to pay.
Did Jesus Christ set the retail price?
Bought one and just sent it back today. Instructions were completely in Chinese and relatively useless. I was able to make one flight on it and then got the rapid flashing lights indicating some sort of receiver failure. Kind of what I would expect from something coming from China at that price point.
China makes the best drones actually by a long shot 😅 u prob just got a faulty one
Normalize putting the price in the video
I’d do that if companies would normalize the price and not change it. People get WAY More Mad when I say a price, they click the link, and it’s different than what I said. Our videos will outlast this insane economy…. 😉⚓️
How can they all be the BEST?
Different price points. They are each the best in their own category 👍💯😎⚓️
Hi Popeye!

Maybe you guys can give me a help & where I can find a good shop overseas?.

Uhh. the only 'Beginner' Helicopter in this video, is the Blade 230.
You do not learn to re- correct all your own movements, and that's where most people tend to 'crash N' burn.'
You are right, i started out with one like these, fly itself thingy's.
(I'm + 50 years old.)
And i do still use the simulator to keep my skills up to level.
@@x3mperformace Times have changed and evolved my friend, and for the better imo.
@@Mrveescuba why should you even GAF?
@@Mrveescuba I always shake my head at you people that think that flying these helis are "cheating". What part don't you understand that these GPS helis will in fact fly 3D if you chose to "flip the necessary switch"! That would be 3D where you actually have to pay attention...as in left is right, right is left, up is down, and down is expensive. These GPS helis allow you to ease into the 3D thing gradually should you choose.
