Do son is one of my top fragrances. I agree it’s maybe slightly less “challenging” than my other beloved carnal flower but every time I spray it I light up, it’s just so beautiful.
Do Son is so lovely! I enjoy wearing it as a companion to Olene. If I had to pick two fragrances for life, it would be those two. The tuberose in Do Son strikes me as cool and fresh, whereas other tuberoses fragrances have often struck me as oppressively warm and sweet. Quite happy to have found it!
OMG, I am so sorry to have missed the live on this one. Do Son is a lifer for me, and I am not in my 20's!!! At least to me, an unparalleled tuberose and very elegant, of course your Jo Malone reference can ruin it for me now (something I cannot unhear). Good to know you walk into random cars 🤣🤣.
Mr. P you are forever getting me to expand my perspective (the mark of a great teacher 😊). After trying a few Diptyque at a store, I dismissed the brand as being Jo Malone-esque. This review inspires me to seek our Do Son. After all, it is always good to have crowd pleasers in your collection.
Thank you for making me laugh! I really needed that today! Do Son is not my favorite tuberose (FM's Carnal Flower, Perris Tubéreuse Absolue and AP's Nuit de Tubéreuse are) but I do appreciate its delicacy and poetry. And Diptyque's packaging (and limited editions) is always very beautiful. There is something about the round shaped bottle with its evocative landscape "hidden behind the window" which leads me to a land of dreams and creativity. I love that!
Maybe I need to try this again, but I actually found Do Son sickly cloying! Some white florals do turn my stomach a bit, mainly when they're used to scent toiletries and household products but I actually don't mind the big guns of Fracas and Carnal Flower (with a light hand on the sprayer!). My favourite tuberose hands down and the only one I own is Moon Bloom, so natural feeling that in warmer weather it just seems to blend with the environment and give you the sweet fullness of white florals without (for me) the cloying thickness white floral perfumes can often have.
My oh my, Mister P., how harshly you treat the Jo Malone brand! I'm more or less on the same wavelength, though, but never expected such words from you. 😱
I've always wondered how Do Son was pronounced, cos there are four permutations: Doo Sun Doe Sun (as in 'doe, a deer, a female deer') Doo Son (Son rhyming with 'on'), and Doe Son
Paris metros smell like tuberose!! I discovered while trying Do Son in Berlin today! I am trying to discover how the Paris metros smell like, leave dirt humidity and other aspects but really I feel either a jasmine or tuberose scent. Do Son is like that! Also, do you consider which differences btw eau de parfum or eau de toilette!
I really want this perfume.. do you know if they sell this all year round for 2024? planning to go to Europe this fall and I’m thinking it might be cheaper to buy it there…
Who is saying these blasphemous things about Diptyque ? 😲I would take Diptyque over Xerjoff or Parfums de Marly, or Nishane et al, any day of the week. Everything Olivier Pescheux created is amazing. Do son is not my favourite Diptyque or my favourite tuberose but she's a beauty nonetheless and lovely to have around in the summertime.

Yes, it certainly has a very particular charm.
Thanks for watching.

Yes, it's definitely breezy and uplifting.
Thanks for watching.
That's great. I use it as a companion to Tam Dao.

Trust me: the JM reference was meant to be a compliment to Diptyque.

I think it's well worth your time going through their scents. As you may know, I really like L'Eau Papier as well.

Yes, I love the bottle designs too.
Thanks for watching.
Purchased the limited edition with the burgundy label. Very Nice Tuberose.
I'm glad you like it. Thanks for watching.
I think it is one of the best tubereuse, this and Carnal Flower from Frederic Malle. These two are my fav tubereuse ❣️❣️
It certainly has lots of fans.
Many thanks for watching.

Maybe Do Son just doesn't chime with you, for whatever reason.
Thanks very much for watching.
I'm sorry I'm listening to this and when you said (when I walk in to a car )I had to stop what I'm doing and replayed that part lol
Sorry! Very poor choice of words on my part!
@@Persolaise it happens. All we can do is laugh about it and enjoy the positive side .
Would love to know your thoughts on Guerlain's Joyeuse Tubereuse?
I'm not sure I'll be able to get a sample of that any time soon. Sorry!
My oh my, Mister P., how harshly you treat the Jo Malone brand! I'm more or less on the same wavelength, though, but never expected such words from you. 😱
I’ve expressed such views on JM quite a few times in the past.
Thanks for watching.
@@Persolaise Ok, I had never heard. Thanks for the great job and reviews!
If you find Mr. P harsh on Jo Malone, do not watch the Creed Viking review.
@@LiaAndrews Ha ha, Indeed they make me laugh, they do.
I love Do Son the EDP, the dry down is lovely and to me is even powdery
I’ve come to really like it too.
I love Do Son! Especially this iteration. Did you ever do a review on Dior Eden Roc?
Yes, I'm pretty sure I reviewed that one.
I just bought Do Son yesterday and hope I made the right decision
Nice review. Most tuberose perfumes are good to me. I love Dyptique perfumes. Benjoin Boheme is oh so good!
Thanks very much for watching.
I just love the way you say........we are broadcasting "liiiiiiiivvvvveeee' it's just soo classy :) anything in a British accent is just mmmmmm
Thanks very much indeed for watching.
What an apt way to describe Jo Malone! Spot on
I’m sure someone used the description before I did.
this scent is very unique i love it!
Good to know. Thanks for watching.
Please review the new Benjoin Boheme too. Am I the only Benjoin lover? 😮
I'll do my best. Thanks for watching.
Your reflection on Jo Malone is gold 😂
Ha!
Thanks for watching.
I've always wondered how Do Son was pronounced, cos there are four permutations:
Doo Sun
Doe Sun (as in 'doe, a deer, a female deer')
Doo Son (Son rhyming with 'on'), and
Doe Son
I'm not totally sure what the correct pronunciation is.

I’d need to compare them side by side.
Thanks for watching.
my favourite purchase ♥️
Wonderful - good to know.
I’m 53 and this is my favorite. My former
Perfumes were Angel by Thierry Mugler and Flowerbomb.
Wonderful. Thanks for watching.
I've got a bottle of Don Son limited edition in the blue green bottle. I adore it, but I am sorely tempted with the cinnabar red.
It is a very pretty red.
I hated the tuberose when I tried EDT version of Givenchy’s LInterdit. Do you suggest edp or edt of Do Son? I wish to try it at its store..
I like the edp.
Is it bubble gummy like say my way by Armani
I would say no, not at all.
I really want this perfume.. do you know if they sell this all year round for 2024? planning to go to Europe this fall and I’m thinking it might be cheaper to buy it there…
As far as I know, it's part of the permanent collection.
More Jo Malone reviews please for comedy’s sake! If honesty could be delivered more elegantly and brutally in the same breath 😂
Well... I've said similar things about JM before.
Thanks for watching.
❤
😊

Thanks for this. I prefer it to those brands as well.
Lol
