  • Learn how to make a paracord lighter wrap in this step by step DIY video tutorial. This is an easy paracord project which you can do to store some emergency paracord for camping or in case of an emergency. Or it just makes a decorative knotted wrap that feels nice in the hand. Useful for preppers. It is tied by use of a modified west country whipping simply by tying repetitive double overhand knots.

Looks great! Would it be possible when the lighter doesn't work anymore to remove the paracord wrap and put it onto another lighter?

Get your second lighter then push the top of it into the bottom of the first lighter(the one that's wrapped). It should slide right in and push the other one out.

Excellent video. Is the paracord gutted? What is the purpose of the 2nd piece of paracord? to keep the wrap from spinning?

You could gut the paracord. I left it as is. The second piece is purely for aesthetics. Otherwise the very first wrap would have a single strand going straight across instead of having a weaved appearance.

Thank you! Very simple, easy to follow. Any suggestion what to do with your paracord scrap pieces (smaller than 10 cm)?

You can make little rings out of the short pieces and you can also weave them as a decorative addition to bracelets, you can make little zipper pulls and fishing lures. You can gut the paracord and use it as a little protective sheath. I will keep it in mind for future videos. Thanks.

Andrei Gotia you can sew them onto pack or gear for makeshift molle straps.

There’s no way this’ll store nine feet of cord.
If it fucking does, though, I’ll have to start doing this. I’ve always got a light on me.
