I'm glad you stayed, it will get easier each time you go away, You will look back and laugh at this, all part of the adventures , could always ask a certain someone for help ha ha ha, enjoy your next time away X ❤
👏👏👏👏👏 Well done, you did it!!! The worst bit is over and it will only get easier and better from here. You'll soon not be thinking twice about packing up and going on your next adventures. Can't wait to see more as I must have watched every RUclips video on the Eriba since you got yours, it's too cute. Great video and great trip because you'll never forget it.
Thank you! The Eribas are very unique aren't they, I was like that too when I first saw them, I have been wanting one for over a year, but they are quite hard to find! x
Hi Rachel I'm wondering if you've carried on with your caravan! I've recently bought an Eriba Puck L and I'm using it just for myself and the dog. My awning is one that's freestanding so the bit you feed through the rail is separate from the awning, then you attach the awning to it, which is much easier.
RESPECT! Well done and I’m sure it will get easier. We got one last year but my husband does so much I wouldn’t know where to start. We love ours and hope you do too xxx
Rachel you did great with the van for saying it was your first time . The place you stayed looked lovely so relaxing, your daughter is so funny Rachel, Love her humour. take care guys & thank you so much for sharing .💞🌹🌹🌹🌷🌷🌷💞
If the awning is too heavy for you take the window panels out first it will make it lighter. Then once you have fed the awning on to the awning channel you can put them back in. Taking the window panels out also makes it less claustrophobic especially in the heat whilst your putting it up.
Never mind at least you tried, I'm sure you'll get better at it, also this heatwave doesn't help, and yes you're right not good for your dogs out in this heat. Look forward to seeing you out again on your travels x
Oh bless you both. Like I said it’s all teething problems but at least you tried. I did think it was lovely how you & Eleanor just ended up laughing about everything, ie no toilet. You were unfortunate having picked the hottest weekend of the year. I also understand how you felt you wanted to sell your beautiful caravan after what felt like a disaster. However, it sounded like that man who helped you gave you a lot of great advice. As for the awning, you could try practicing doing it at home. Maybe Lucas can give you a hand. I’m sure once you’ve got over all these teething troubles you are going to love your new edition, your little caravan ☺️ xxx Hope you’ve had a smashing visit with Lucas & baby Mia 🙏 xxx Eleanor, I must say you look beautiful in this video. You are growing up into such a lovely young woman and you’re a credit to your lovely mum 😘 xxx
Just push the button in then push break down there pretty stiff just one other thing make sure the jock wheel is up once on car or u will have probs towing it and is of the ground if down its dangerous. You xan buy stuff for the toliet that breaks stuff down and smells nice always recommend the awaning take windows out its very light then threat it through u will find it easyer i hope this helps you out there are lots more but these just few simple steps happy safe camping
Oh ps join caravan club its very little for a year lest you get spotless toliets and showers I wont use anywhere else but them and normally you get small discount if you join a magazine each month for free
This would be me! I do sympathize. I’m 75 and looking for a second hand Eriba, but never without a toilet! I live in France and am looking forward to the adventure. I hope you worked it all out and are enjoying trips out in your Familia! Take care. Jo in France 🇫🇷
I feel for you Rachel as I'm no good in the heat. I think you did so well for the first time. It will get easier. I hope you have a lovely time with lucus and family. I can't wait until it gets cooler. Xx
Hi Rachel you did well going away and like you say you know a bit more now than you did now everyone has to learn ,glad your going to give it another try ,we don’t drive but I have always wanted to get a camper van to travel round but we don’t drive I can dream 😂😂 hope you enjoy your trip away next time both of you and your dogs yes it has been to warm for us and our pets xxxx
Aww Susan that's a shame that you don't drive if it is your dream! You can always stay in a static though and rent, will probably be less stressful than towing one around! x
Hi, we joined a club but think it is the unfriendly one! I didn't know the difference between the two but oh well, will join the other one next year lol x
@@UniqueFam ohh that will be the caravan and motorhome club there a bit on the older side and are stuck in there ways ! . Definitely join the caravan and camping next time .
Well done, you have learnt a lot for your next trip, trust me if gets easier. I have the same caravan as yours and also an air awning. Give your awning rail a polish with some silicone based furniture polish like Mr Sheen, this will help it to slide on. It is easier for one person to feed it on the rail and the other to gently pull it across. Peg down the two back corners near the van first then blow it up. Pull it all straight, peg the front two corners then the sides.
Aww, poor you and Eleanor, not the best start with the caravan, must admit I did have a chuckle 🤭. As you’ve not had a caravan before treat the weekend as a trial run, sorting how best to do things, checking there’s a toilet on site etc. Very kind of that man to lend a hand and he was about to give you some good tips, the pair of you will be pro’s before you know it. Have a good time with your son and family. Take care x
Rachel ,it`s been so unbelievably hot ,i think you were brave to try and travel and stay in a caravan in this heatwave. You`ll get used to it ,and the weather will cool down and then it`ll be fun to take off when you please.Hope you enjoy your special time with your new little grand daughter.xx
We used to caravan, you can spray the awning rail with a silicone based spray or even a bit of furniture polish at a push then the awning should slide on a lot easier, hope this helps.Honestly your first time went much better than ours lol, we nearly lost our van over the side of a mountain!!!! 🙈😂
Thank you for the suggestion, we will definitely try that! Oh no I'm glad you didn't go over the side of the mountain but that must have been extremely scary! x
@@UniqueFam it was!! We overshot the entrance to the site so thought if we carried on we'd be able to turn around somewhere, the road got narrower so we tried to reverse back down ( never reversed a caravan lol) we were both packing and nearly went over the edge, it was a forest campsite in Wales Thankfully it all turned out OK and we caravanned for years before selling up ( hubby was diagnosed with MS) I hope you enjoy your little caravan ,its lovely xx
Well done for staying ☺️ I love the caravan, I’m sure it’ll get easier each time & I bet the hot weather didn’t help especially with the dogs, it’s been awful, I prefer winter lol 😆 xx
Awww the caravan is great 👍… hat’s off to you!! Sounds like the best way to get to know caravanning etc do it bit by bit … you ll wind up loving it I bet!! I hated camping a few years ago … went once then got the bug and learned from each camping trip! I love that you try new things 🤗 Eleanor is so funny 😆 she is as dry as sticks!! Love you both ♥️♥️
Keep trying it’s a beautiful caravan we would love one x
Thanks Deborah, we will try again and hopefully be better prepared! X
No the chemical toilet is easy to empty dont just use it in emergancys!

Thanks so much! 😊Yes it was a lovely quiet spot on a farm, just had 5 pitches I think xx
Very interesting to see the Caravan. Have a nice rest of the week.
Thanks, you too!
Well done for trying! I don’t think I’d have the courage to even try, you’ll get better with time and enjoy your future holidays!!x
Thank you, its a steep learning curve at ghe moment but hopefully we get there! X

Taking the window panels out also makes it less claustrophobic especially in the heat whilst your putting it up.

Do you still have the caravan? Hopefully a few trips later it will all seem much easier.
Just put it down to experience. You will learn all the time.

Think you need some caravan friends. I recommend joining the ccc. (Caravan and camping club) very friendly bunch who will help you learn the ropes.

We all learn from our mistakes. You'll be sure not to make the same mistakes again. It is frustrating, though.

I'm scared towing it and it's hard to set up alone.
