I have connected a roland snare but the rim sound is in the middle and the middle sound is in the rim. How to fix it? Would be a great help. I have to play the shuffles in the rim
@@joydasdrums6708 depending on the pad you are using, make sure you are using a stereo cable into input 13. If there is no fix, I think you can just assign the head and rim sounds to the opposite zones. It really doesn’t matter which zone you assign them to, as long as they are assigned to a zone and it’s not glitching, if that makes sense. Hope this helps!
@@joydasdrums6708 you could assign a head sound to a rim sound and vice versa, just to try. But it also could be the pad, or the module, which does tend to be glitchy sometimes with triggering and crosstalk. I’d use your best judgement on which one isn’t working.
Very good video i have the dtx 12 was actually gonna sell it and buy a roland kit,but i think ill get a yamaha hi hat pad And that roland snare and have it all there 😊 and more compact for gigs thanks 👍 also can you cross stick with the roland snare pad thanks.also I'd say using the Yamaha app will make it even more expandful.
Hello sir, I need your help. I have an electric kit which is Alesis Turbo. But I also want to have a portable drum set (not a sample pad or something that goes along with acoustic kits). You said that Yamaha DTX-Multi 12 and Yamaha DD75 are like portable drum kit. Do you recommend any others? You said Roland TD-30 octapad. Thanks :)
@@alexkyriacou214 Hi! I would recommend either a Roland Octapad, SPD 30, or an Alesis Strike Multipad. You can fine tune the sounds on the Roland, but there are not as many as the Alesis. There are more sounds on the Alesis that are great, but you cannot fine tune them. Hope this helps!
Ahhh good find! I actually used the snare extension from an old Roland rack and bought a Gibraltar clamp that attaches to the snare stand and used the Roland snare attachment to mount the snare. I think you can use any metal pole that’s lighter weight. I often wondered if you could get something similar from Home Depot or Lowe’s which you might be able to, you would just need the Gibraltar clamp for the stand at that point.
@@miles46100 that’s cool! I’m not a huge fan of the Yamaha pads in general, for the triggering pad or the pads on the multi 12. I much prefer the Roland for triggering in general. I was surprised how much better Roland stuff worked with the Yamaha, but I also prefer the Yamaha internal sounds. Just my take of course!
@@sabadrum Ok do I need to get the clamp? And does the pole need to match the diameter of the clamp opening? I just want to know what to get to make it like yours.
How do you set it to use with a snare I just Yamaha one but I'm confused in how to get the triple sounds ,,snare, rimshot, and rim click can only get snare sound very frustrating.thanks.
If you are using a 3 zone Yamaha pad, you need to trigger each zone, the head, the crosstick section, and the rimshot section, all 3 zones will be recognized by the module. (You will see a marking on the rim of the pad if there are indeed 2 separate zones) Additionally, the snare needs to be plugged into input 13.
@@sabadrum thank you,,do I trigger each one separately? I watched a Yamaha video on how to set it up but he seemed to have all three been recognised on the dtx screen I'm not getting that very frustrating 🙄
Just FYI, I NEVER review or perform with VST sounds. It makes no sense for people to come and listen to such an already unique instrument they might want or are checking out to hear that the sounds are not from that source. In my opinion, VST’s are solely for recording, if even necessary.
@sabadrum Great to know. I hadn't found tom sounds I liked yet, so I grabbed some and enjoyed how easy it was to load into the DTXM12. Only had it 5 days, so I'll keep searching. Admittedly, played through a sound system will be different than headphones. Missing on every YT I've seen is what comes in the box for attaching to a stand. I was surprised that nothing came with except screws to attach a plate not supplied. Fortunatel, GC had a spare they just gave to me.
@@prakashgamit2003 I can’t find a Roland KT8, but if it’s a switch pedal it will probably not work the same, if at all, as a regular kick pad or a beaterless pedal with a piezo, like a Roland KT10. Try maybe selling it and trading what you have for something better?
Thanks for this video! It made me order a Roland PDX 100 too.
sounds great

There is one single input that works with 3 zone pads, probably you didn't connect the Yamaha pad to the correct port?

does the dtx multipad 12 do continous variable hi-hat?
@@Doit4Johnny i think it’s possible, but it’s a steep learning curve to figure that out. It’s tough enough to achieve the base open closed hat sounds
