What is the fighter's gaze role in combat?

Au combat, le regard est directeur. Il reflète une manière d’être.
Il conditionne et il aligne le corps dans la direction voulue.
Il ne s’agit ni de regarder son propre bâton ni celui de l’adversaire.
Le regard est à la fois focalisé sur l’autre jouteur tout en voyant au-delà. Il voit tout ce qui bouge dans un angle d’au moins 180°. Lorsqu’elle est calme, cette vision ciblée, semi-circulaire proche et lointaine, stimule la perception globale à 360°.
Ce regard est activé au combat dès le salut, au début de chaque forme et joute codifiée du Modern Tahtib, bien sûr dans les rotations, les volte-face, les lancers et … les feintes.
The Gaze/Sight
THE GAZE and its guiding role in free fight. It gets the body in condition. It aligns towards the desired direction.
The sight needs to focus on the other jouster, not on the sticks. It allows to see any movement in a 180° angle. When calm, such eye sight, semi-circular, near and far, sharpens an overall 360° perception.
The fighter’s gaze is in action from the bow the early stage of a combat. Also, at the beginning of each Modern Tahtib form and codified joust, obviously during body spins and volte-face, also stick throwing and lures.
