MODERN TAHTIB video channel concerns the most recent update of the millennium Egyptian Battle Staff. It includes videos about the events, the story, jousting and combat, the practice, the codified series, etc.
Initially used in Ancient Egypt for about thirty centuries, as one of the Egyptian army martial discipline, the Egyptian Battle Staff has been described in details since the Vth dynasty (-2600 B.C.). It has then been developing during the recent twenty centuries in the Upper Egypt villages all along the Nile River as martial and festive game, called “Tahtib, stick game”. Now an update of this ancient practice is building up ad an educational martial sport.

How to practice CONSCIOUSNESS - Breathing Energizing and Stretch -
This proposed CONSCIOUSNESS PRACTICE is of three focus parts: Breathing, Energizing, Stretching. Breathing is the overall base line.
Based on diverse practices in diverse disciplines (Aikido, Karate-do, Iaï-do, Chi Qong, Yoga, Zazen, …) I assembled this cycle according to my own body needs.
I use it mostly early in the morning prior to push-ups and pull-ups on the bars of a wall bar, then zazen meditation and vocalization practice. The consciousness practice requires 20-30 minutes, the total is about one hour.
This video is frame for any of you aiming at adjusting it to your needs.

It is an actual sport practiced in Paris and elsewhere. For Paris, call Arthur Ouaki at +336 03 74 25 02. On this sunday, you could join a new group in Nice, south of France. other groups exist in Toronto for North America, etc.

Sports
not too polluted by far east martial art... and some of its techniques could work with scimitars and other curved middle eastern blades... seems legit... Wonder if the hopping movement allows for fighting in sandy surfaces
Keep in mind that the Egyptian Battle Staff's roots claim 5000 years tracked development far before any far east martial art track. In addition, the typical ball park in Egypt was and is a sandy ground.
