I wonder if Michael Stipe realized how nice of a voice he actually had. He can really sing when he applies himself. In fact, if anyone were to ask me what male singers I like, I would definitely include him.

There was never a world in which this was America's greatest rock band. This is a band that made boomers think they might still be cool. It's good but pump the brakes, tiger.
Tiger run around the tree follow the leader run and turn into butter ...and yes they were the biggest rock band in the world for a couple of years in the late 80,s into the early 90,s I'd probably say from 89 to 92

An audience totally locked into the moment, facing this most balanced, talent and intelligence driven, potent force. I've been with this genre of music for decades. The moments of real magic, stripped of all hype, have always been rare. Just listen to this band and their songs.
Growing up I hated REM. Their songs and videos were so overplayed and so annoying. So affected. So precious. But I do love how pretentious they are and how their fans think they are so intelligent. I love that REM single handedly increased mandolin sales more than any group of all time. That’s awesome. Also, Stand was the theme song of the greatest tv show of all time, Get a life.
Thank you REM. ❤
All their Music 🎶🎶. Reminds me of Better Days than Today 😁💜🙏☺️🌎💙🇺🇲💯🎶😁💜🙏.

I saw them open for the Englush Beat in 1985
What a night that must have been! Incredible combo!
@dave2402 it was an outdoor daytime concert at Boston University. One of the only good reasons to grow up in a college town! Lol:)

My favourite version. Just love the backing vocals, Michael's voice, everything!
His vocal on this version is absolutely glorious.
Mike really made the band unique
Somewhere I had this on CD, but it's long since broken or lost. Thanks for posting.
Not even piezo pickups could ruin this brilliant set
Made me cry.

Magic, thank you for uploading this! Disturbance at the Heron House wasn't played though, it was Belong and Endgame during the credits.
