Three Rods for all your Tackle

- I will show you that 3 rods are all you need to get the job done! The only problem is that you have to tie several different lures on the same rod! Line clips help speed up the lure changing. These 3 rods are perfect for the power fisherman like myself. In the future, I'll recommend different rods for light tackle or finesse fishing. Bass wishes and catch a bunch!

Roland I'm turning 74 in 4 days.I've follow you,Bill Dance and all the older pros. You wrote a book on 101 ways to catch bass.I read that book over and over again and I want to thank you especially for years and years of fishing know how.You married your wife whom you met on the bass circuits.I Taught my wife to fish and I sincerely want to tkank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful times you helped supply my wife and I for years of good fishing.God bless you Roland and thank again.Great fish my friend.
I have this book too.It is very nice of him to publish all of this information that he acquired through the years of fishing.Thanyou very much Roland
Hope you’re still kicking it, tight lines old friend!
Great post Mr. Vires!
Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup ruclips.net/user/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
“How many rods do you need?” Is a question only a wife would ask.
I have more rods than I need and less than I want.
Not if the husband doesn't fish and the wife does fish.
Paul Jensen that’s the way to do it
That's what my girlfriend tell's me.
Scott Vickery NOT if you’re talking to your local TACKLESHOP- assistant
*Love St. Croix enjoyable.fishing recommend . Great action. Very enjoyable rod to use. I matched it with a Quantium Catalyst reel and together it works great. *
Best rod description I’ve ever seen on RUclips… leave it to “the man” to do it. Thanks, Roland.❤
I personally fish out of a kayak, so having 20 rods isn't an option for me, having this kind of information helps me a lot. Thanks!
I do appreciate all your fishing lessons. They have really helped over the years. I have watched you for over 40 years.
@@Ranger98837 same here. EVERY weekend.
This was a good video. A lot of ppl don’t know what rods to use for what. If I could fish with anyone in the world just once, it would be with Roland.
You're one of the great ones! I've been watching or listening to you for many years. Always entertaining with great stories to tell and good info to pass along!!!
I like the idea of a lure clip. Sometimes you just don't feel like tying on a new lure.
Thanks Roland.....always enjoy your tutorials!
Love your videos Roland I’ve been following you for years. May God bless you always.😎
Roland,
You, Bill, and Jimmy are the greatest and I still watch and learn from you all. I am going on 72 years young and have been fishing for 67 of them.
I appreciate you and sharing your years of knowledge you have always been a class act
A good video and information from you roland.fish on and tight lines.
I have learned more from your videos in the last week than I ever thought I could. thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!! brand new to fishing
Roland, Enjoy your enthusiasm. It's contagious.
Really appreciate your how to videos. Thank your sir! Love your channel and your buddy Jimmy Houston 's channel as well.
Mr. Martin, first I want to say it is great to see you still doing what I've been watching you do for 40+ years now. Now to the matter at hand. THANK YOU! Every time I'm getting ready for a tournament and my dad see that I have 8,10,15 rods he makes fun of me. I've tried to explain to him what you were just saying. I will be showing him this video. I enjoy watching your informative videos. Keep them coming please.
Man, Roland is bursting with knowledge. Awesome video.
Love ur videos rolland you have helped me alot with technics and rod reel selections that I ignored from fishing for 20+ years but can always learn more. Thank you rolland!!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It’s the most important tackle we have and I’m glad I can add to mine with every video you post.
I absolutely love this video Roland! Im on a tiny budget but I have gotten my rod count up 5 and will slowly go up. I got all 3 of these kinds of rods but wasnt sure what setups would go with them but with this awesome video, I know now how to set them up! Thanks Roland :D
Roland - I have learned so much from you!
I watch your videos, then I go try something you said - and Boom - a nice Bass!
Little by little I keep adding to my arsenal - because of you.
You Rock Man - thanks a lot!
Roland, I really appreciate all the instructional videos you provide! The help not only myself, but my fiancé and kids (this is definitely a family activity) learn more about our favorite hobby! Obviously, the family has more fun when we catch fish! Thanks again!
Thank you for sharing your expertice with everyone.
great video- this channel is a gold mine- THANK YOU!
I love your videos. I'll always show love to Roland Martin
Thanks for the Great tips ... I fish in a small boat or a kayak so I have limited space and usually only take 3 rods ... Like the idea of the snap for quick bait changing ... Now I just need to find me a good Heavy action rod ... Thanks for taking the time to share all your vast knowledge with us... Keep'em coming !!!
Great Video!! Very informative, with so many quality tips. I use one rod for everything, but have really been wanting more rods for all my favorite baits. There's so many opinions & options out there. But you really nailed this topic. I'm saving this video to my favorites, so I will know where to find it when I can afford more rods. Thanks!
I enjoy these style videos! Keep them coming! Always good to hear pro’s advice!
Roland, thanks for that video. My boys and grandsons ask the same questions too. They’re learning though. That’s the beauty of fishing. Thanks again!
Thanks for a very informative video. I am getting back into fishing and appreciate your thoughtful and economical approach to tackle management. Now if the fish will cooperate, I will be all set!
I love listening to you and your son on bass fishing. The amount of knowledge and stories you two share are much appreciated. I’m starting my RUclips channel I hope to pass on this knowledge as I improve
Thanks Roland, this helped me get more organized.
Roland is a living fishing legend. Grew up watching him with my dad and now follow his son! Great people who are always pushing great information. Thanks Roland
Great job on how to rig your top ten on a limited amount of poles. Thanks!
This is the video I have been dreaming of finding! Tight budget, recently started fishing again after 44 years and back then all I had was a cane pole. So when I started last year, I had no equipment, tackle or knowledge. Been doing alright with a GX2 combo, but now I know how to start building my arsenal efficiently. Thank you! Seriously, THANK YOU!
Great tips Roland thank you for the info
I'm looking at getting a 7 foot medium rod. Right now I'm getting by with four baitcaster set ups, and one medium spinning set up for ned rigs and such. Thanks for the video.
I like this, breaks down to what rods to use for which bait!! Thanks Roland!!
Roland, God bless you for being a mentor and teacher for the world.
I just want to thank you Roland for sharing your talents with us. I just bought my retirement home on Bull Shoals and am dreaming of the long days on the water, God willing. I love your videos sir and learn so much from them.
Great video on how to stay in the game with a few rods.
Awesome.... Your the best Roland.. Thanks for the tips.. 🎣 God bless
Wonderful help. Wonderful. When I’m out of my kayak, which is a lot. I fish quite a few gravel pits where I live in Ohio. More than three or four rods can be a problem. This was perfect
Mr. Martin, your passion for fishing , and your passion to teach people how to fish is unmatched. Thank you for sharing all you have learned over the years.
That was a great review! I've got about 4 dozen rods for specific applications. This definitely saves precious time when the situation suddenly changes. I find it difficult to concentrate on tying a knot after a big bass has just jumped near me or I see it swirling the water. Having the right rod with the right lure already tied on is a great way of increasing the probability of presenting that lure to that fish before it swims off.
thanks MR Martin for the videos been watching/following you my whole life and just recently found your you tube channel though and its one of my best cancer treatments is watching and learning from you thanks so much!!!
Honestly, besides the line these rods are very similar. I have been trying to figure out the best rods/reels to get and this was an excellent video showing how many a fisherman truly needs. Great job!
I really appreciate how you get right to the point, no wasted time. I learn a lot. Please include written notes since I cannot remember or write that fast.
I save your videos to my Roland Martin library and come back to them for instructions as needed from the master of bass fishing of higher education! A follower of 50 years and your still looking great. Thank you for sharing your passion.
Thanks for this video mr Roland. I went Bass fishing 2 days ago and I have those 3 sets ups although I need to switch the 30Lbs to at least 50Lbs braided on the heavy dury rod.
My worm set up for senkos is 12Lbs fluorocarbon and I like keeping it like it is.
It's amazing how that first rod can be used for all those lures.
Again thank you so much Mr. Roland.
Big fan since the 80's and still is a big fan... Only some of us wish we can take a pic with the 3 Legends... And thats Rolant Martin, Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston...
I learn all my fishing from the 3 and still watching and learning from them...
Great advice roland. Your videos really help. Thanks
Thanks Roland.Valuable info for All us guy's on a budget!!!
I had a friend recently tell me that I have been using the wrong rods. Now I know what to use. Thank you for your help.
Great video Mr. Martin, thanks
I love your videos. Very helpful!
Roland I am glad you mentioned those quick clips, they are essential if you are only going to have a few rods! I wondered for a while if the bass would notice the clip but the only downside of them is they can catch some extra grass but they still catch loads of fish with them. I use the small ones you have there and the ones with the barrel swivel as well, love quick switching.
Awesomeness Sir as always!
Great videos sir.i fish in small pond....learning from u .ty..i thought u were going to say ,i are sponsor n u bought rods ..kay thnks again for ur time making videos
Terrific stuff as always! I’ve come to the decision for my 3rd and final rod in my bank lineup will be a medium heavy rod for my 1/2 jigs/spinnerbaits! Excited to get into big worms and big hooks!
Thats why I like building rods. You find that you can use multiple baits on one blank you like but as you said about the cover your fishing you can have the next power up. Like MHX blanks for instance- MB873 is a 7'3 med heavy fast action but they have the MB874 same blank diferent power 7'3 heavy, same with a MB875 7'3 xheavy. Great video. Love the knowledge you share. I also run 65lb braid on my frog rod but never on my worm rods like I've seen you do. Going to try that and see if I have more success 👍
You only need three rods, but you need three or four of each of the three! I love it! Can’t have too many rods and reels!
Thanks for the good advise
Love this video I have just in the last two years started to try different power and length rods. Used to only have a couple under 6’ at medium. Now my problem is combining gear ratio with kind of line, strength of line, length of rod, and rod power.
With all the lures and basic patterns for bass fishing, one or two rods aren't going to cover it.
Roland Martin Outdoors agreed for all the lures manufactured now, but how many of those lures can you effectively fish in a given amount of time?
I just turned54 and remember watching you since I was a young man.I unfortunately have never fished bass as I’m from Moosejaw Saskatchewan Canada, and really only fish walleye jack and trout. Thanks for you for you the man The King Roland Martin.Always watching you your friend fr9m Canada Kirby
right I can't take his advice either my fish species are the same, so it's light ultra-light and med-light spinners for me only really, I don't like medium, I feel that I only need one pole a med-light and I know what lures catch everything I need, for me it's about rocks not marring up my lures and not losing lures like I did losing one yesterday to a rock
I think what we all need is some Bill Dance outtakes...
I have 4 bass rods kinda one doubles as a crappie rod and one I use for channel catfish. I do plan to get more when I can afford it. Great video!
I enjoy your vids. The presenter of the Century/ Love to all form Down Under, but hey, we are on top!!!
Roland, this is the second time I have watched this video and I want to tell you I truly enjoy listening to your lessons. The lessons are on point and engaging. I don't have 10 reels yet but this year I am committing time, effort, and money to setting up my rod and reels to be able to go to a new lake and be ready without having to retie baits all the time. What speed reels would you recommend to go with the 10 favorite baits you are fishing with?
I really regret missing out on those Anniversary Tracker boats.
Yea same here. Amazing price for a brand new boat
@billyfromtheusa If I remember correctly, they were $9,999 with electric motor up front, 40 HP motor on the back and a trailer. It's only a 16ft boat so I guess that's why it was cheaper.
I have that boat, I love it!
Great video 👍
Thanks for the information! Great video.
So good, thank you Roland!
Great as always, thank you!!!
Very helpful. Answered questions I've had for years that held me back from buying a couple of specialized rods. One question I do have however that you didn't cover in this particular video- of those 3 basic rod/reel combos what do you recommend for reel retrieve ratios on each setup? Thanks
nice podcast. only recommendation would be to paste links to the rods in the description above.
He doesn't read these.
Pro tips 101..... Love your videos....
Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Sir you just made my head explode🤯
I use 1 rod atm but i practically only micro fish. Once i get a job im definitely gonna remember this video 👍
Good video...great info
I use two and I do pretty well but any day fishing is better than working - even if you use just one. Thank you, sir!
Always great videos. I bank fish in Texas, so I carry 4 spinning rods and one 17 lb backpack; sometimes for miles. 2 rods have 20 lb braid/20 lb fluoro leader and 2 rods have 10 lb braid with 12 lb fluoro leader.
Hey Roland, we're all thrilled you enjoy making these videos because we sure enjoy watching them and to learn from the best! Thank you!
That was perfect! Thanks
Thanks that’s so much great information
you are the best keep teaching its great
Thx for all the help
God Bless you Roland
Roland people have to figure that you have been fishing for over or close to 60 years. I only got a few of my Dad's rods and reels and I know for a fact he had way over 150 of them. So for you to have so many doesn't surprise me at all. Look at all the lures that have been made from way back when.
Simple concept but a lot of people dont know what rods to use for what
Keep the videos coming and ill keep watching RM
I usually bring a jigging worm rod
A crankbait rod
And a mag-bass rod for everything in between
Roland I enjoyed the video and took allot of notes. I have many rods for both baitcasters and spinning reals. I have tried to set up combination to match as many different lures as possible but what I missed in your video was reel ratios. Maybe you have address this in the past?
Very informative thank you sir.
Love this dude
Roland you're awesome
Fantastic video Mr. Martin! You never disappoint, every video you make is relevant and answers so many questions we all think about. Thank you! Any tips for fishing Santee-Cooper or Lake Wateree during Fall and winter transitions? I'm fishing my first tournament in Decemeber.
