My mom is in her 90s. She grew up during the pin curl era. lol. She always used pin curls. Anyhow, her technique was to grab the hair to be curled. She would position her finger against her head, wind her hair around the finger, then pin it. It's probably not the "textbook" way to do it, but Mom's method enables her to keep the hair orderly while it's being curled.
Wow! This is so much easier for me to do than the other method of rolling. Maybe this will inspire me to do pin curls more often, thanks!
@@KL-rd9tg If she wanted larger curls, she would wind her hair around two fingers. If she wanted tight curls, she would wind her hair around her little finger.
Your excitement over a hairdo is exactly what I needed today. ❤❤. The world is depressing. You are not. 😂❤
I like the way you pinned it in the front. Very flattering!
Thank you!
I love your videos so much! Actually i am one of those long time followers of yours. I love the evolution and change in your channel, but I doooo loooove hair videos the most (i am not trying to make you change anything btw)!!! Time has flied so fast, I struggled and grew up with you in a way. I dont know will you read this, but you being you, makes me wanna strive to continue to be myself, a better me. Thank you for that. In a way, you are an older sister I never had. To a lot of us. Thank you! Love you! Hope to meet you one day and shake your hand. Till that day, wish you and your husband all the love and happiness in the world!
❤❤❤
What you said. ❤. Long time follower here. She’s just so genuine and comforting.
@@lynnhobby32321she is. Always was. And what I adore about her is that she didn't try to change herself for money or anything. She evolved, changed and grew up in a way that she can be an example od a young woman to a lot of us young girls out there. I want that, real people who work hard, go through a lot, learn and grow. She has flaws, but she is loepsie we all know (I know that is not her real name, just sayin) and countinue to support. Woudn't mind having tea or coffee with her (probably tea because she likes it so much, tea time and all that jazz xD)!
This hair length and shape suits you perfectly !
I’ve been doing pin curls for 5 years now and I love watching how other people do it 😊
Grandma trained as a hairdresser in the late 1920s, and she did pin curls every night. She probably did at least 60 sections. It was sort of brilliant seeing her work.
Your previous one looked a bit "pushy 1940s secretary", but this one looks more like early 1960s model or actress.
I think, the "vintage" methods don't always work on modern hair can be because of the haircuts (the initial shape of the uncurled hair). If you look at "vintage" haircuts, they tend to be shorter in the front and longer in the back, vs straight cuts today.
Ohhh...fun. I do love vintage hair content. I haven't mastered it yet, either...but watching others do this, makes me want to keep trying!
You can do it! 💪
Your hair is adorable. I love it.
Centre parting, horizontal sections, 2 on the top, 2 in the middle, 2 on the bottom; on each side. Lift your section up as you roll and slightly poof the stem for lift. Do it on dry hair for less frizz. Brush out, flip to side, brush forward or back; however it sits you. Set with product. Takes me around 5-8 minutes every night. I've been doing it for around 9 years. X
It looks so beautiful ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Ooo, really pretty!! It reminds me of Lauren Bacall! Love it!!
You are much happier with your hair now, and it looks great! Our Loepsie is back. Think of all the pretty hair clips you can buy to hold the bang area in place! I watched a video a few days ago where the young lady showed how to make and use a head wrap. The wrap gives your hair wonderful waves. I think I'm going to give it a try. Her name is Catherine and her RUclips channel is @DaintyDiaries.

Enjoyable video and background music.
SUCESS!! It looks great! I liked your last look too though 😊
Your hair looks so healthy! And the pin curls came out lovely :)
I love it! so lovely and natural looking
I want to try this hairstyle so bad!!! But I am not good with hair at all, it’s like I have two left hands when doing hair! :))
I was just not gifted with being able to do my hair but I was gifted with a curly hair that looks good right out of the bed and I don’t need to do anything to it ever 😂 ; sometimes though, I’d love to try some vintage styles! :)
I love it 🥰!
I like it! It look's good on you. I want to try it on my curly hair. I will wrap all my hair around my head and after that dries and my hair is straighter.. then I can pin curl the ends to midway up. This way I can get a straighter slightly curly style without the roller part's I get with a wet roller set due to having thinner hair now. Thank's for the video. ❤
I love it, you look so classic! Few months ago I cut my hair from long to shoulder lenght with layers and bangs (what was I thinking :D) and even that I had this short hair 5 years ago and loved it, now I struggle with it a lot, I don't like anything I make with my hair, don't know what to do with it and it just doesn't feel like me at all. So I am in process of growing it back :D now I have same lenght as you and just started trying pin curls too (really grateful for your video). It is not looking that good, because I am completely new to it, but I will just try till I get some beautiful results. I have pretty round face too and sponge rollers doesn't work for me as well (I tried different sizes, also velcro rollers and I hate them all :D). I really love vintage hairstyles and looking forward to seeing more of vintage or hairstyle videos from you, because it is such an inspiration for me :)
Looks gorgeous ❤❤❤
Looks nice! I saw somene use those 'pillow' curlers for a similar look that migth be easier to curl
cute curl style
It would be interesting to see a set done at a modern salon. At the hair school by me, in the Chicago area, they do offer it for customers at a low price.
Two videos in one week?! Homegirl must be adding plants to her garden
If you go to the salon for this please film 🥰 would love to see the process and how it is done in a hair salon 🎉🎉🎉
I always do this when I feel like having curls 😁 but I don't brush them out
Me too!
I actually started watching vintage hair styling tutorial just for the 'heatless curls' techniques. And I distinctly remember thinking: 'All this work, just to brush out most of the effect afterwards???' 😅
The brush out style did grow on me, though!
That's perfect too for a more modern look! They look amazing just shaken loose with the fingers 😄
Uhh wow!
You're a lovely, sweet lady! Beautiful in the inside too! GOD BLESS YOU from Oklahoma! 🤗❣️🌻🦋
I tried that a year did tube across them my barber pants
I don't understand why after you curl it you're taking a comb to it. My hair is a lot like yours, very soft and somewhat fine, and I know for me that that would just pull out 90% of the curl. Try a very large loose brush next time and see if it does any better.
mooi !! ❤❤❤❤
I'm late to the party, but I was wondering where you got your duckbill clips? (I'm writing my christmas wishlist)
Women were still wearing their hair in this finished style even in the 70s and early 80s. Look at any JC Penny or Sears catalog 😊
Love from INDIA ♥
Ok who else missed the sound of the spray bottle 😂 ah the memories
When using rollers do not twist your hair tight around the roller. Leave it smooth.
Can you pretty please remake your one-week of hairstyles with this hair lenght? 😊
The older people I know who get curls at the salon get perms so that they last a very long time but also damage their hair.
1970s Nancy Drew vibes.
I've been doing pin curls since the 90s and land 80s that's nothing or news
I used to pin curl my mom and grandmother’s hair. You’re not quite doing it right. You need to find someone in their 70’s to help you master your method.
Smaller amounts of hair, and your hair should be wet.
