yea you need stronger ankles for the kind of game style you play. 2 options, do some of the workouts like the ballet dancers do to strengthen their ankles, and there are also several exercises in YOGA which will strengthen your ankles all around. I would recommend the second one. that helped me out a lot when I was actively playing competitive tennis. I mean it helped a chubby guy like me stabilize my ankles as I moved around the court. also in med school I learned that its the smaller muscle groups that are harder to train, so beside to pay attention to those muscles and tendons around your joints when strength training, so your steps are stable as you increase your intensity to match your game level. God Bless. and keep having fun, the rest will follow. ✌
Yeah Felix. You are showing a lot of visible results. Good Job mate. Good deception at 2:53, and 3:25, 4:14, and 5:04 with slightly timed delay, and you are getting good at hitting those corners confidently, your lobs have improved, but still shallow at 3:50. Hit them more confidently (remember if you try to avoid an out and hit it with shaky confidence, you are bound to miss hit it, or hit it long, also be sure to have a clear state of mind so your confidence does not shake), clarity in your shot will give you the confidence to hit with clean form and keep the ball in. keep working on improving your variation of shot depth, like in 4:39 where in a split second you saw your opponent's momentum indicates he is planning to rush the net, but instead of playing deep your mind subconsciously mirrored your opponent and you hit is shallow at the service line giving him a perfect lay up to hit a winner. play the variation to counter your opponents movements in your mind and your body will follow. kind of like trying to recall a color at the same time as recalling a 5 digit number. multiple decisions based on multiple factors. train your mind to do that and you will become an expert at it. good improvement though and with a good lob at 5:43 making the opponent flustered. keep up the good work.
Let’s Go Felix! If i were you i would do tournaments with high cutoff(like 1400/1500) like this week’ s South Africa 25 k or this week’s Kazakistan 15k and not monastir where the entry list is always full of good players.
Monastair is one of the few tournaments where you can regularly enter without a ranking or barely a itf point. I think he is aware of those differences
It's also much more expensive, both in terms of money and time required (including the paperwork), to travel to those. There's a reason they're snubbed by most player
@@DevTNT i know, but also Monastir is expensive, you have to stay in the resort where the cost is at least 65/70€ at night and the plane’ s ticket isn’t cheap, I presume that is like €450/500 to stay there in the resort and you have to buy a ticket for the plane that I presume that is near 100€
Its interesting that in these matches, there's not ref sitting and watching. I guess, it's an honor system. Close balls calls must be pretty stressful. But beyond, that, damn man! You've gotten so much better since you started this channel. You're playing some seriously high level tennis!
What an amazing battle. Very impressive to get over the finish like with your condition. Dont let the heat/humidity bother your game. Thrive on the heat and make your opponents suffer
Cannot can’t believe this is Baldwin , absolute grinder back in the day - , age 13 or whatever , crazy to see his original playing style still remains. well done for him for playing all these years later and good luck to him - Rob from jersey
Just keep playing your aggressive play and stop being afraid since your play works well when you play it! Do you see top players start to play soft at tight places? Not that often i think and that works so keep your good parts of the game going! Rooting for you to success on getting atleast top100 💪💪
Great win Felix! You must see it by now that you need to play aggressive tennis all the time. The points where you chip it back or give it very little on the forehand you rarely win. Yet the second set when you’re playing aggressive you’re level is incredible. Hopefully you can play more like that
Well done Felix. I understand you had an injury but I have seen it it a lot of your matches you get so passive and tight when the match gets close. You need to be able to push through this if you are going to reach your goals; against better opposition, they will destroy those push slices you hit. Wish you all the best
I think you should serve wide more . You have a great serve and sometimes a bit of body serve and more wide serves with good volley will really help your game. Good win
Hi felix been watching u since ur. Video in Newport tennis centre were I train but I wanted to say keep on going and you will make it far and also what are your tennis shoes called ?
Hey man love the videos! Rooting for you! Question… in your volley warmup you seemed a little bit far back, is there a reason you like to warm up volleys at that distance?
Great start Felix. However, are opportunities so rare that you *have* to commit to two matches in a day while nursing an injury that can worsen? Wouldn't it be wiser to retire, heal, and be full strength on the next tourney?
If it's a suspected injury that can worsen to a full season absence, then yes , otherwise it is worth to play through these matches as tennis players tend to spend much time and money on traveling to locations to play in a small timeframe. Not playing in matches that you believe you can work thru can be very costly.
at 3:07 what is that flying in the back over the building also great playing Felix you will make into Grandslams I know it I'm trying to follow your footsteps if not do better I'm 16 and playing all day every day also doing physical trainings in the morning
Well played. Playing too defensive during key moments of the game e.g tie breaks. Playing super defensive and waiting for your opponent to miss is not going to win matches in the long run when you play against people who aren’t afraid to play aggressive. I think you know this. You have the ability to dictate points with your forehand and net game so don’t be afraid to use it.
sportsmanship basically and the fact that if the opponent just blatantly cheats then you can do it too on your side of the net. Also I think you can ask for an official if your opponent is clearly cheating.
Bro work harder on ur endurance and ur physicality and ur fitness to be able to play with consistency agression like the second set u was playing amazingly lose and agressive , u have a lot of work to do , just keep hard and intelligent working and better results gonna be inshAllah
Felix, with all due respect, you should consider working less in your biceps and upper body - I believe it may be limiting your flexbility and therefore your impacting your forehand and backhan. Most tennis pros anre very thin and the muscles don't really play a huge part in the strength of the forehand.
You forehand is your strongest weapon. And that’s why I absolutely to not get it why short get shorter and shorter, barely passing the service line, even when in perfect control. You just invite the opponent to play deep or angles. Seems you got lucky this time.
You're hitting your forehands a bit late, try to get more bodyweight into it. You got the physical strength, hence shouldn't need to grind that much. Forehand too many spinny sitters, backhand looking bit stiff with that straight arm technique. Good attitude tho 💪
Ufff that was an ugly one 😃 issue I see is that you are lacking confidence and default to grinding which that’s not your thing… u have to play aggressive and finish way more points at the net. Confidence is big, hopefully with a few matches under your belt you will start consistently playing aggressive and have a set game pattern. Your serve can be way bigger too. You have a great motion and are plenty explosive. Just erase the grind passive style…
