What a legend James is, always come back to his VIDS every few months and that realisation at 10:26. Seeing his growth numbers wise and personally wise in 4 years, just shows what genuine person seem him as. 🙏🙏👍🏽👍🏽
The dampness in the lower part of the bell housing looks like at some point the fluid had leaked from the Concentric Slave Cylinder (bearing built into it) Therefore no hydraulic pressure. Nice quality vid mate 👍
My guess is the seals blew out in the slave cylinder. I've seen in it happen to a Focus before, and i suspect my friends Mondeo was leaking there when we did the clutch/dmf on it.
I'd do anything for that nice weather right now. It is -4F (-20C) outside right now here. I have to run 4 heaters (about 50,000 BTUs) to get the garage up to about 60F (15C). It is supposed to be staying this way for another couple of weeks too! It is unusually cold here this year. It will mean less insects for the garden next year though!
Great Video had trouble with getting into gear had clutch plate changed was great for about a week and then fault started again will have a check the linkage Thanks Mate 👍👍
You need a strong Work bench for any engine work it's much better than being on your knees plus a make shift tent or tarpaulin over you, it takes me back doing Jobs on motors in all weather, you would love my garage 38ft long and 12ft wide plus it's got a lovely multi fuel stove a must for winter.
Luxury lol. Im in my first year of driving and im not well off on Money so its doing my own work on the car. First car was a cheap 300£ Peugeot 307sw sport. Good car but at 360k miles i had to scrap in end. Though i did buy it with no mot and managed to get one on it all eork myself with no previous knowledge. My new car an old 53 plate vauxhall meriva life (standard model) is a project as rings on piston 4 though ok are not best. Besides that cars perfect for 2 previous owners one being dealership for test drives. Perfect mot history and perfect service history. Im doing services now myself, done its minimal one this year as only oil filters and plugs needed changing. Plugs sorted the misfire in piston 4 and rugh idle. So good job there. Next is a full hornet exhaust system and eduction kit with slim intercooler then full remap for better mpg/power ratio. Then to tint windows get coil overs and do the rings in summer. All done in a closed compound and by myself to help reduce costs snd make a profit on car as i got it at a steal of 600£ woth only 84k on clock and new mot. :) love working on her as shes cheap and easy to work on. Love driving also. Best thing to ever achieve. Being 28 i wish i done it earlier.
Thanks heaps for this video 😁 I wish you had come up eith an answer as I've just had the cluch/slave replaced in my 1.8 & it's got the exact same problem 😥
Thanks for this video mate, my Corsa is screaming those symptoms and I guess vaxhaull placing it inside the bell housing is a grade A idea 😕. Once again thanks for taking me through this so now I know what I'm up against.
Well done mate I got that paint in my watch list on eBay. Hopefully paint my subframe same idea as you lol. Keep up the fantastic work and video's are full of extremely helpfull information
Hello, I’ve got exactly the same problem with my corsa 1.2 as this video shows, I’ve checked the master cylinder but theirs no sign of any leaks. If the reservoir bottle is still full can it still be the master cylinder? Let me know cheers
My brother´s Corsa has over 200.000km and I think this is one thing that should be replaced as preventative maintenance... that piece of plastic can not be expensive... I dont need the metal part, . if the new plastic one lasts another 200.000 that´s enough :)
@@bobl78 chances are a genuine plastic part will be more expensive than an aftermarket adjustable metal upgrade link rod and the upgrade will not only be metal but have retaining clips so it cannot come off even if it were to wear!
I have vectra c 1.8i z18xe and I have a problem with the choice of gearbox on now I have with f17c374. Can you tell me which gearbox will be the best engine, I prefer a long gearbox. Thanks

Just started watching you, I have a air impact settings 1 to 4 no instructions just getting into air tools any idea which settings for doing up wheel nuts? Thanks Ian
None of them are mate I only use power tools to remove bolts always hand tighten bolt and then torque using a torque wrench I’m a professional mechanic and if your looking for a good but cheap torque wrench Halfords do a decent half inch one for a fair price

I know exactly wgat is wrong with your clutch and what needs fixing. Firstly the disc itself is ok but when out you may as well get a new one on. The flywheel looks good but look for worping. Never use impact gun on clutch parts. This can work parts.... The cluch spring plate looks worn on spigot springs. Replacing it will give better clutch control. The spigots get worn down ofer time. If theres obvious lip on them. Replace. You never checked the spindle on gearbox end itself. Mover it up down for play if so its the bearings in that. Easy to just replace full box. Hope this helps. And not definitely the issues but i believe it is some. (im only an enthusiast in this stuff to save money doing maintenance on my vauxhall meriva.) project car/family car. Going to mod it up to look super flash for a family small mpv. Next mod is a full hornet exhaust system and induction kit with slim intercooler system. Then start with the remaps.
That's fair enough. There are cheap ways to do it. I management for about £1000 but that was buying and Astra coupe and hoping all the other bits sold which is just a hastle
Hiya Mate , i have a corsa sxi 1.2 16v my brake warning light on dash is on then off then on , its not the handbrake and ive topped up the brake fluid so any ideas whats wrong , i would appreciate any help thanks steve

Happy New Year buddy and well done keeping those fresh white trainers oil free

Should have checked the brake fluid level if it’s low clutch pedal won’t work on Vauxhall’s.
I have a Corsa C so this video was still relevant to me and had some useful information. Thanks.

could it be an internal leak inside the slave cylinder/ master cylinder reservoir?

Fantastic mate good work
Really enjoying these videos.
Quick question will you ever make a video on how to install Cruise Control?
Please could you do a vid or tell me how to change the Gearbox oil and what are the procedures.
Thanks
Good tip on the shift linkage... something else I'll probably have to fix on my son's in the future lol

What was all the metal shavings in the bell housing?
D5DRIFT it wasn't metal mate that was oxidisation from the bell housing
can you tell me about manual gear if has oil to replace or ont ? in opel astra g 2002
Happy new year!
Great vid Mate 👍
Is this corsa c 1.2??
I have vectra c 1.8i z18xe and I have a problem with the choice of gearbox on now I have with f17c374. Can you tell me which gearbox will be the best engine, I prefer a long gearbox. Thanks
Do a 2018 tool box toor
Never play with the slave like that. Pressing it in and out can damage internal seals. If you're ever tempted to don't!
Did you try to bleed the clutch before you took it all apart?
I know this doesn’t relate to this corsa, but on your old one where you removed the water pump, how did you support the engine
Morgan Addenbrooke he used a jack
Like your channel mate! Could that be the master cylinder?

Have you taken out the clutch master cylinder to replace on a corsa c .

Check the master cylinder! I’ve replaced clutchs before for customers and it’s been the master cylinder

You not fancy doing a zlet conversion instead of the 1.8 🤔🤔
Jamie Whittaker that would have been more fun.. but who is going to fund it? I don't have 2k to throw away in a corsa

zippy814 brake wear sensor going bad possibly
The brake fluid is used for the clutch too, see if any fluid is coming out of the bell housing, if so the slave cylinder might have gone
Get some polybushs for the subframe to engine mounts and lower arms.. youll thank me later 🤙🏻
Out of interest James do you work 9-5 ? What do you do ?
What impact do you use
Daniel Warren it's a hawk 3/8 impact, got it on eBay about £70
