    I recently used it intensive. I have to say, if your lens has stabilizing and you do the same effect in Resolve, it will produce the same result, then without but gyro data. The main thing here is, that you are more save with lenses that have no internal stabilizing. The camera does that all automatically, so no worry about what you use. Keep shutter low, use double frame rate and avoid motion and lens blur. For me it is better then using a gimbal.

    Thanks, I was planning to try exactly the same experiments as soon as I had a spare hour or two. This saves me a job and it's a really nice video.
    I currently use a Canon C200 with stabilised lenses for most of my run and gun filming and the BMP6K for tripod based interviews and static shots. I think may now change...

    Hey mate, I've watched a fair few of your videos as I'm looking at getting a bmpcc4k in the next few months. I really appreciate the simplistic style of your videos. On RUclips, it can become a mess of flashy and high-tempo content. But the classy simplistic approach combined is a welcome change!

    sounds great. the stabilizers already in davinci do an amazing job with traditional tripod movements like pans. but following a subject or having something move in frame is absolutely a deal breaker. so from what i'm hearing the gyro works well with these types of situations which is all i wanted.

      using a good vector based motion blur back into the footage looks amazing with a fast shutter. Fusion has one on board (I think only in paid though). Because I am interested in buying one of these cameras - I contacted Blackmail and asked about moire the camera's footage. The technician wrote back and stated that he hadn't heard of any moire issues for years (suggesting that it no longer existed), but it's clear that it still is an issue.

    • @ChristopherMichaelLaw
      @ChristopherMichaelLaw  2 года назад +1

      I'm surprised they said that. The cameras don't have optical low pass filters so there is always a chance you'll get moire. Higher resolution, like 6K, might help reduce it, but it is still there.

And this gyro stabilisation can be interesting to explore, but all the actual footage from other gyroscopic systems like Sony or with electronic stabilisation is actually hard to use due to the motion blur artefacts that look so weird on the stabilised footage. I agree, it’s not very practical and for most things far to much fuss. A lot of gimbals don’t work with the pocket cameras become they’re a strange shape/size. You need to buy counter weights to balance them so I can understand why people wanted the feature.

Im talking about the camera itself and what it represents. Its entry level into the 6k world. It's designed to usher in new investment buyers (indie production people that will one day grow into established producers). IThe camera is a godsend for the smaller budget, but what Ive found is that most people looking at this camera (and all other before it) want it ALL. And we have seen Canon, Sony, etc give budget DPs a few things in one camera, but never everything. This method cuts back on product cannibalization- something that Canon learned the hard way with the first XL1 back in the early 2000s.
