    👍 Nice installation video. I have it in my 2016 FJ 09 and love it. If you close the throttle a wee bit and shift at the same time the lurch will vanish and shifts will be very smooth. My cut off delay is set at 40 ms based on my driving habit. I have had it for 2 seasons now and it is awesome. If you want to see the difference select the ‘bypass mode’ checkbox. This will return the transmission to regular stock shifting and help you gauge the difference between having a quick shifter and not having one. Uncheck it to enable the quick shifter again.

    Ordered mine Feb 27 from Blue Monkey Moto (the US distributor according to Healtech website). Of course they are out of stock, but they knocked off $32 (10%) from the $320 list price for having to wait 10-12 days when they are expected back in. Hopefully this will get rid of the clunky shifting of the lower gears at lower rpms. My FJR shifts great if you really wind up the rpms, but you can't always do that in traffic. Really enjoy the TWO mod and maintenance videos.

    That's great! I may have to get that for my FJR. I have looked for videos specifically for the FJR but, I never found any. Thanks for you time and effort with the video. You answered all my questions. I was concerned about the first to second shift being the transmission is a little clunky anyway.

    Bryan, I installed this same quick shifter about 6 months ago thanks to this video. It works great, except I sometimes notice a "double click" in the shift lever when using it. It doesn't affect the shifting at all, but it feels very strange. Again, it feels like your foot goes through two notches when pulling up on the shifter. Do you ever get this?

    I am also very interested in this quickshifter for my '08 FJR1300.
    Do you still like it after 8 months of use? And did you have any problems with it?
    Does this quickshifter cause any damage on the gearbox. I ask because I use the FJR for daily commuting, and I don't want to change the gearbox after installing this quickshifter.
    A lot of questions, hopefully you are willing to answer them.
    Thank you, and keep on making great FJR content :-) .

    I would only want a quickshifter for downshifting as I have mastered the ability to manually clutchless upshift already. Would it not be a simple matter of blipping up as you downshift with this quickshifter to solve the whole blipping issue? At the very least having a slipper clutch on board should help keep things less rough without the blips, no?

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  4 года назад

      The slipper has nothing to do with safe dog bone engagement, only traction. Clutchless upshifting is not the same. You can’t do it holding full throttle.

    • @Gofr5
      @Gofr5 4 года назад

      I'm afraid I don't know enough to understand the difference with a slipper clutch then. As for clutchless upshifting, I know it's different from just a quick up shifter, but I see little value in an quick up shifter only when manual clutchless upshifting is easy enough to do, hence my want for a quickshifter to be more for down than up. A quick flick of the wrist to up shift isn't worth the expense of an up only quick shifter to me. Thanks anyway, I may have to bite the dust and look at bikes with factory up and down shifters after all.

    The whole idea is to have that mechanical feel of man and machine

    So why turn a bike into a semi automatic?????

      Then I learned and wow is it fun
      Guess you can't teach old guy new tricks
      Or just don't want too
      I can shift with the clutch "and do sometimes just to test myself"

      Lubo, its another step toward perfection in riding. Go to a superbike race and listen to the sound of perfection in shifting. Better for the bike, better for you. If you like to ride slower, or find yourself being passed frequently while riding your bike, this isn’t a mod you could use or benefit from. Ride your ride.

      Similar but not quite the same. I greatly prefer shifting my with foot.

    •  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, not the same. Better. You can shift with your foot, or with your finger. Quick shift up and down, with a flick of the forefinger. Finger flick is faster than moving the foot.

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  6 лет назад

      You don't have to use the clutch when using the foot shifter?

    •  6 лет назад

      No. There is no clutch lever. The YCCS disengages the clutch, the cuts the ignition, changes gears, all in a nano second with the flick of a finger. Upshift or downshift, any rpm, using the foot shift or the finger shift. It's really nice for traffic, and just a hoot out in the twisties and when doing a max acceleration. You roll to stop with it in first gear. System disengages the clutch while you wait for the light to change. Then just twist the throttle to go.

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  6 лет назад

      Well then that's awesome lol
