Also, the soundtrack, the hilarious no-crash driving mechanics, the particulars of the level content that was decided upon to signify the country, the TWIST ending and that red car that looks like it has a face on the back of it also make Cruis'n World such a radical awesome game. 5/5 would cruis again.
ooooh nostalgia .), I remember playing this game every morning just when i had woken up , my favorites games were turok dinosaur hunter, crusing usa, rush, star wars, mario 64, star fox, battle tank global assault and this one, those were the games i had by that time :`D
I love this game so much. I used to play it non stop. Got so good at it I just kept playing, couldn't even put it down. I put records on this game that would probably still be in place to this day lol
15:23 this race took me 10$ dollars to win on hard!!,It was well worth it and on manual and had this ost on.Nintendo needs to port this game to the Swicth!!
I love this game to death! But one thing I really hate about this game, BUGS! If the bugs gets on your window, she would say "That's nasty." Seriously, I got that on a rare chance.
In Cruise The World mode, you must to finish in the top three on each track; to unlock the Moon track, finish in the top three in all of the tracks on Earth. When you finish in the top three of the Florida track, your car will be loaded onto a space shuttle; when your car reaches its destination, you will be able to race on the Moon.
the only car i ever remeber using on here as a child was the army truck, and im pretty sure this was the only game i was ever good at till around 8-9 years old
I always wondered why the racers were going around the world with their cars and racing on the main roads among traffic... and how a racing organization could orchestrate something like this. Probably my favorite thing about this game was the way the texture becomes visible in the distance.
I got those nostalgia feels yesterday! Was at a campground that still had these early 90's versions of Cruis'n in their arcade that I used to play when I was younger. Shame to see this particular arcade game so scarce. Also hard to find Rush and Rush 2049 arcade machines
One of the huge improvements on this game over USA is not just the bigger roster of cars, but you could play as the seemingly non playable traffic cars too like the van, the double decker, the taxi, and the delivery box truck.
I mean, you could play as NPC's in USA. If you held a combination of buttons, you could choose to play as a police car, school bus or Jeep. But yeah, World has a more diverse roster since in USA, there are still 7 other cars that aren't playable.
@@vontavius01 Yes, but not all of them. In World you could play as the semi or the van or the delivery truck or the city bus or the taxi. In USA you couldn't.
I remember playing this game so much as a little kid... Not speaking/reading a word of English, not having a clue what Hawaii was or what a MPH standed for as KPH ! The third part was very frustrating for me... But nevertheless, what a great game for the time ! ^^
I remember being disappointed the moon was just a reskinned Australia. They could have tweaked the physics so you got lots of air time or higher speeds, but nah. And the fact there is traffic in the eaybup there is pretty hilarious.
YESSS!!!--- Thank you for posting this!!! This was my game when I was a kid. They had a copy at the pizza parlor I loved going to as a kid (it doesnt exist anymore. Sad face), but every time we went I would beg my parents for at least 5 dollars in quarters to play. I was a horrible driver but I always loved how the stirring wheel would jerk you around when you were getting hit. I miss this game so much!!!! CHECKPOINT!!!
aw man this brings back so many memories....me and my cousins would play this all the time...man those races were awsome cutting each other off, crashing out near the Finnish line due to the cutting off...but fuck i remember this game looking better back in day...
@KoploperMau @Nintendo64Movies: To acquire Power Level 6, you will need to beat the Cruise the World mode on the hardest difficulty setting. I tried this in 2010 on a real N64 and failed (finished 2nd and 3rd a couple of times). HarlemHyena You give the AI opponents names, too? That's nice! I used to do that too when I was younger and played racing games such as this and Ridge Racer 64. :)
I tried getting power level 6 with 3 and 4 players, where there are no cpus. However, despite player 1 getting first place in all races, I still don't get the upgrade in either files. Is there actually a difficulty setting called "hardest", and if so, how do I unlock it?
X2011racer The hardest Cruise difficulty in Options is "Very Hard" - as I said a week ago, you'll need to beat the Cruise the World (that's the ENTIRE race - not by selecting one course at a time) mode in first place on all the courses, including the one after the credits are complete (Moon) - on Very Hard difficulty. I would recommend Power Level 5 (if you have it) for this challenge. This WILL NOT work in Championship.
X2011racer Not sure - when I tried this in 2010 (coming up short of victory on a few stages, obviously), I never finished below 3rd (with the unexpected 1st place in Mexico) - AND I used the Speed Demon (the McLaren F1 LM) for all 14 stages. I would also recommend manual transmission.
Sorry, I don't. I'm actually in the same situation as you, I tried and won everything, but power level 6 does not appear. However, it is present in the game, because I can acces it using Gameshark cheatcodes.

@@animemangafan1987 it literally released just last week.
I was about 40 when this came out, bought it for my son, I couldn't tear myself away.
Just the music itself takes me back 😌☁️

***** I think that N64's version of Cruis n' Usa is better than the arcade
