  • As the name suggests, Cruis'n USA takes the player across the US as racers compete against 7 computer-controlled opponents on 10 different tracks (+ 3 bonus) and 4 vehicles (+ 5 bonus).
The goal of the game is to make it from the beginning to end of a track in a predetermined amount of time. Checkpoints are placed along the way that grants the player more time. Obstacles, such as oncoming traffic and enviromental hazards, pose a challenge to the player, as crashing into them can cause the player to lose his/her position, and waste time altogether.
The environments include Golden Gate Park, in San Francisco, to Washington DC. In each race, players must reach first place to advance to the next track, and there is a time limit to reach the goal, which can be extended by driving through checkpoints. If the player does not finish before the timer reaches zero, the game ends or you insert more coin to continue. Unlike most racing games, there is the option to change the music by pressing the radio button during races.

Cruis'n USA is a racing game created by Midway that was released in 1994 ,it is branded as the first release of the Ultra 64 platform collaboration between Midway and Nintendo but instead it was based on the Midway V-unit arcade hardware.

Yeah 100% i have the arcade at home and youd have to turn the wheel a ridiculous amount and pace to do that lol. Also its an emulator for sure the colors are way too perfect.

lol the game had no physics. The car is just a block that moves in directions, the whole physics code is probably like 12 lines or something haha back then it didnt matter tho, you just had scrolling graphics and you were entertained. The ladies in bikinis are hilarious, nobody would allow that today cause of how uptight everyone is

Yeah, I like the charming wackiness of the cars flipping wildly during crashes. Interestingly, however, there was a console game in 1994 that *did* attempt Newtonian mechanics/physics, a little game by the name of The Need For Speed. That game has wonderfully elaborate crashes thanks to the endless possibilities offered by having “realistic” physics calculations.

Theres a setting in the arcade game where you can turn on or off a scene where bill clinton is in a hot tub with hillary and some young chic on the roof of the white house, when you win the game.
