"If you jump, and die, then she will have her chance." -make you wonder what the hell they're trying to achieve exactly. It makes sense but it doesn't make sense at the same time and I think that's what makes it so funny.
Barbossa coming back to life in the second one is an example of one of the worst and laziest storytelling concepts...executed perfectly! By far one of my favorite scenes of the entire franchise featuring the return of my favorite character! Btw I'm the same guy ^
Well I mean the writing is lazy, like when Family Guy killed off Brian and brought him back (killjoys). But these movies did it twice and it was just perfect! Pirates of the age of exploration are already sort of associated with some level of mysticism, and COTBP exercised that concept brilliantly with the curse of the Aztec gold, and that certainly left the window open for other supernatural twists like resurrecting characters.

At the end of this scene we can tell that Black Beard is lying to Angelica when he says he knows which guns were loaded. He really doesn’t care if she lives or dies, and this fact is only solidified when he makes it very clear that Angelic will be the victim that the fountain claims and he will be the one that it saves.
That's why he's the most evil character in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, in my opinon. Barbossa's an anti-hero and a bad-ass, Jones is tormented by losing his love, and Beckett is just doing what he has to do. Blackbeard is just pure evil.

Considering that the film is based on what we loved about Jack Sparrow, and that every move of his was calculated which was proven at the start of the movie when he escaped from the King's guards, it is not far fetched to say that Jack Sparrow's actions here were motivated to release the doll from the possession of Blackbeard. This is really a great scene :) Johnny Depp truly shines in Stranger Tides. Some expertly delivered one liners and his agility is on display with these stunts. The walking across the street/atop horse drawn wagons was particularly engaging. I find myself thinking of dear Johnny Depp during this tumultuous time for him -- what with his divorce and all. As much of a buffoon Jack is, I always liked to think he knew exactly which pistols were loaded, being a pirate and seaman with pretty much a lifetime of experience; somehow he could tell if they were loaded from looking at the pan (for powder) or by feeling the weight. Hence his comical demonstration with the second pistol by waving it around before discharging it into the air. I like to think he knew it was loaded before he even picked it up.
Nice detail , Jack only picks up and fires the second pistol after he sees Blackbeard is serious and gets lucky by not killing Angelica with the first shot.

As much of a buffoon Jack is, I always liked to think he knew exactly which pistols were loaded, being a pirate and seaman with pretty much a lifetime of experience; somehow he could tell if they were loaded from looking at the pan (for powder) or by feeling the weight. Hence his comical demonstration with the second pistol by waving it around before discharging it into the air. I like to think he knew it was loaded before he even picked it up.
