@@elansleazebaganno Which simply isn't true. A lot of content is now gone and removed by RUclips when it's uploaded-the expression of certain opinions is now considered to be a transgression (a significant portion of historical revisionist/"conspiracy theorist" content has been wiped out), trolling is now often a ToS violation because it's supposedly bullying or misinformation, frivolous copyright claims have plagued the platform and led to the loss of a lot of content, etc.
I'm not the type to comment on videos, I usually like and lurk. This is video is a great example of the type of content I enjoy and they're the reason why I use RUclips. The fact that creators struggle with censorship, exposure, and being fairly compensated for ad revenue makes me frustrated with the platform. I absolutely love that they went from basically a parody of a parody to legitimately creating some of the best known modern TV commercials in the form of the absolutely insane Old Spice ads. It's like The Onion. SO many of the people that appear in those early Onion vidoes are now major successes.
I remember the Google TV hoax from back in the day, because I initially fell for it. But then I watched a few more of their videos, and realized I had been duped. Ah, the days of early RUclips. It really was the Wild West back then. Didn’t know Fatal Farms did the Old Spice commercials though. Neat!

I thought that was funny when kids fall for that stuff 😂
I started on RUclips around the same time (in 2006) and I have no recollection of these videos...weird. That's pretty funny though. I remember a video coming out much later (made by somebody else, I think) where they taught you how to recharge your phone by putting it in the microwave...and the amount of people that fell for this was astonishing. How dumb does one have to be?
I fell for one of those kind of videos by someone else who is very popular. Had me putting tinfoil on my modem to speed it up 😂
Nice profile pic of Lester Knight Chaykin 👍
this ie crazy, i JUST made a joke referencing the phone in a microwave thing ppl fell for!
@@mudmudmudmudmud7605 lol but at least that's not a fire hazard, or an immediate one like microwaving metal and phones. still silly
@@mudmudmudmudmud7605 haha yeah, thanks. Out of this World (or Another World) is one of my all time favorites.
@@guardiane 🎮😻
Man InfiniteSolutions was so great. You watch one and it's like "Wait, what? This is wrong." Then you watch another and it's like "Ohhhh! This is brilliant!"
People who would follow this as truth probably think How to Basic is legit as well.
11:30 "exploded like a romulan warbird" delivered in crisp deadpan. I am fucking crying tears of pure amusement
E:
12:30 The fucking cellphone with the cable wrapped around it. I am HOWLING
Miss early YT. It was the wild west of the internet. Honestly, it had much higher production value too when people like Julian Smith started pumping out content. Now most of it is annoying and oversaturated, but thank God we have awesome video essay channels like this still.
Before the algothrim you would see the wildest videos
@Bang me Chan But why?
And a few years later PilotRedsun would unintentionally revive the Garfield parodies with "garfielf" but that soon just became a vent for people to carry out some of the weirdest fantasies possible lol (and I MIGHT have made one myself on another channel after the new Garfield movie was announced last year)
that sar pedta godie
Love that dude. He makes killer music too
@@jayst true, Grinch's ultimatum was a BANGER 🙅♂️🧢
@@Treeeee2008 all of Achievement is amazing. His new stuff rocks too. He goes by PilotRedSky for his new stuff.
Oh yeah and Bittertooth is sweet as well. Totally different style though
You almost at a milli 🤯🤯🤯
You deserve it bro!!
Woah one of my favorite channels watches the same stuff i do!? You deserve a milli too primm! Youre both awesome!
YOOO, YALL KNOW "PRIMM'S HOOD CINEMA" HE A BLACK ALL-STAR.
Suburban all-star status?
Hes about to be a big boy all grown up...time goes by so fast, doesn't it? You deserve a milli as well, you're vids are fucking hilarious!
I remember watching the MJD video about the Google TV video a while back and being intrigued about the subject as a whole. Glad to see you making a video about them, man!
Back when RUclips was a platform that you could find anything on. I miss those days
You still can, there's just not as much anything anymore
@@elansleazebaganno Your comment contradicts itself. RUclips used to be incredibly wild and open, but A LOT of the old content has been repressed, if not outright removed.
@@nachashiesu-sophia I literally just said there's just not as much variety but if you're looking for it you can pretty much still find anything
Thats wrong. There is even more stuff to find now.
I'm not the type to comment on videos, I usually like and lurk. This is video is a great example of the type of content I enjoy and they're the reason why I use RUclips. The fact that creators struggle with censorship, exposure, and being fairly compensated for ad revenue makes me frustrated with the platform. I hate that I have to leave a comment just for the sake of manipulating an algorithm that doesn't even benefit the audience I'm a part of. That being said, here we are. Keep up the good work and fight the good fight.
“THIS deceptive youtube hoax fooled millions”
- every prank video
This is wild. This came up bc yesterday I saw a video that a "hack" channel had people putting steaks and burgers in their toaster and causing accidents/fires/ deaths
These kinda channels need to be demonetized or labeled as satire or something smdh
This is fantastic. Never heard of this one at all, but it looks so much more legit than so many of the original tutorial videos of the time that I followed I would have fallen for it.
Jeezus! I had no idea these guys were behind all those legendary videos!
Seriously, I would have never connected the dots between all those different projects.
I can’t wait for what else they bring to the table.
Nice! I remember these videos back in the day on RUclips. It was pretty obvious it was parody but you could always find people in the comments thanking them for the valuable info 😁😂🤦♂️
Same. I think the wifi one was the first one I saw, and if you know just a little bit about tech, it was an obvious hoax.
I would see people believing that people were actually thanking them on the tips but they were just doing that to fool people into believing they fell for it.🤦♂️
Bait upon bait
Great times
Now you can't do the same without 100 or more smartass saying something like
"How fake do you want this be"
-Yes
Good humor is getting lost😢
I loved these videos back in the day!😅
Omg the Google TV beta Thing just killed me, it sounds EXACTLY like All the rumors we used to spread around the playground when it came to Pokemon secrets
dude i'm obsessed with your channel. no matter what you talk about the video is so comforting and enjoyable. i could watch for days on end (and have done). no other channel makes me feel this way! i love your choice of language, pacing, and general excellent variety and coverage of crazy interesting topics. you will never find a dull video on your channel
Holy shit I can't escape Garfield why does that cat show up everywhere I least expect it to?
As to those that created high quality content in early RUclips...I'd have to say that Angry Video Game Nerd was among the first to make a recurring popular show
absolutely agreed
Yeah, he was post content to the internet before RUclips was around. His Castlevania 2 video was made in 2004.
Chad Vader
Everyone knows that. *eyeroll*
I've been waiting for you to cover these guys. I trolled so many people with these vids back in the day. I really wanted to get someone with the carpet stain video but I'm not that evil.
Watching this on RUclips TV 😂 Google owes them money for the idea lol
Wait u can make comments with youtube tv?
After being obsessed with lasagnacat, I had no idea they made fake how-to's... this is glorious.
The passive-agressiveness in that Google answer.
Ironic RUclips is trying online TV now and no one gives a crap lol
I am so glad 7 year old me didn’t find that channel in 2006. They would have got my dumbass for sure.
I love the fact that after all these years they kept their style of videos on point
I absolutely love that they went from basically a parody of a parody to legitimately creating some of the best known modern TV commercials in the form of the absolutely insane Old Spice ads.
It's like The Onion. SO many of the people that appear in those early Onion vidoes are now major successes.
Most their false information just shows how stupid the general population is honestly.
At least theirs were pretty harmless, unlike 5 minute crafts and their related channels that YT needs to shut down but won't.
I remember the Google TV hoax from back in the day, because I initially fell for it. But then I watched a few more of their videos, and realized I had been duped. Ah, the days of early RUclips. It really was the Wild West back then. Didn’t know Fatal Farms did the Old Spice commercials though. Neat!
This was peak internet. All downhill from there.
Oh wow. I remember being fooled by the Google TV hoax back in the day. Never knew these guys made Lasagna Cat as well.
I love how the update video actually shows the coiled-up phone
I'm GenX and have never had a computer, until they became part of a phone. And only a couple years ago I was able to afford unlimited data. So I Thank-you very much for teaching me all about a bunch of stuff I've missed out on!!! 😎🤘
this is wholesome
may I be one of the first to welcome you to the madness
@@ammamanagucci 🙂🤗
Very wholesome. I am a fellow Gen X er but had the priviledge of being on BBS boards at age 16 arguing with older nerds about Star Trek and then married young into a family of early IT professionals. I watched the internet grow to where it is now, and I would not trade that experience. However, you are probably a far happier, less doomer person than I. Your different prospective is valuable. Cheers!
@@Dr-Weird 😂 Thank-you! I pay for Premium RUclips, so worth not having ads. And I really enjoy that I get to talk with people who live all over the world, in RUclips comments sections. With YT ToS I don't have to deal with people spewing out right graphic violence and other such things. I hope your day/night is going well!
Bring back old RUclips.
We could call it RUclips classic.
You have no idea how excited I was to see Lasagna Cat in a thumbnail. It lit up a part of my brain I'd forgotten about
Fr
You have no idea how many phones I put in the microwave before I figured out he meant the oven smh
I still watch the 1 hour long Garfield tribute to this day…
They're legends for making the old spice Terry Crews commercials
The Robocop Remake scene was my first encounter with Fatal Farm. I nearly puked from laughing so hard.
Fair warning though, it's pretty graphic/NSFW.
That made it so great though. Everyone's seen a guy get gunned down in an action movie. FF took it twenty steps further--genuinely one of the most visceral things I've ever seen.
@@visual_Memories Oh for sure, I agree. Just wanted to throw the warning up before someone whines after searching it up.
Kudos to Google for finding the humor in the videos rather than getting angry
Dang, I was just thinking about these guys recently. I remember watching the iTunes video back in the day. It took me a minute to realize the channel was a parody, which definitely got more obvious as it went along. Excellent trolling. They don't make 'em like this anymore.
I remember seeing the Ducktales video when it came out and thinking it was hilarious. Realizing that it was almost 15 years ago made me feel old af.
These guys are amazingly talented and creative, I really hope someday they get to direct their own movies the way that the Turn Down for What directors have.
Wait, I thought Tim and Eric did the Terry Crews Old Spice commercials?
The early days of RUclips used to be filled with so much good trolling content be it prank phone calls or offensive parodies.
Shame censorship got in the way and we'll probably never see these things again like they once were
“Tiny dinosaur eggs!”
“Who cares?” {smashes eggs aggressively}
🤣💀
I remember my brother tried wrapping a network cable around a phone to boost the WiFi signal 🤣
It really was a different time back then, and they looked professional.
They also had a hoax how to get windows 7 early if I remember correctly.
Didn't know they were behind the Old Spice ads, those were amazing.
I remember the Lasagna Cat videos. They were, for lack of a better word, weird.
Oh my god I love them. If you have any basic level of technological knowledge, you immediately realize it's satire. However, if you're lacking common sense, it's believable.
You're really close to 1 million subscribers, congrats! I think I've been here since 3 or 400,000.
Infinite solutions was a classic. If you watched a lot of the videos they become more and more hilarious. The minesweeper one would easily fool someone, but others like how to spend a weekend in NYC for $10 made it more obvious. The retro intro was the first thing I remember laughing at. It’s like “you suck at photoshop”. Anyone remember that?
You can't just wait until the end to mention they made the Terry Crews Old Spice ads those are iconic
Never came accross any of their video, but this reminds me of the time theojoe used to do these kinds of fake tutorials, never reproduced his tutorials but did watch some thinking they are legit.
"Incredibly convincing"
On what planet??
I f_%$in Hated channels like these when i was a kid learning about the internet and tech.
Dead pan comedy is and always will be the best. RIP Leslie Nielson
I wasn’t around to see all this, but it’s really funny to watch even today
Thanks for doing this one Wavy. I will always loved the Infinite Solutions series, and I'm glad the guys found professional success later on. The series provided one my opinion one the funniest gags of all time, from the dinosaur bones eoisode: "Tiny Dinosaur eggs!" "Who cares!"
I have a video idea, lots of you may never heard of the game series, but I was wondering whatever happened to the people who made the call of mini games, aka Trinity Interactive. These guys made some of the best mobile games, however they seemed to have fallen off the face of the planet. No one has talked about it so I figured to ask you to cover it
Agree, these games were my childhood
Ngl kinda forgot about them, they fell right off
I literally just had the Duck Tales clip recommended to me yesterday lol I was like WHAT THE HELL IS THIS! Funny stuff
I am not crazy! I know they faked those videos! I knew it was prerecorded. The keyboard didn’t match. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just - I just couldn't prove it. They - they covered their tracks, they got that sock puppet account to lie for them. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This chicanery? They’ve done worse. Those fake intros! Are you telling me an inappropriate intro just happens to leak like that? No! They orchestrated it! Fatalflaw! They created lasagna cat! And I watched it! And I shouldn't have. I took them into my own recommendations! What was I thinking? They’ll never change. They’ll never change! Ever since they were a new channel, always the same! Couldn't keep their hands out of the cartoon shows! But not our Fatalflaw! Couldn't be precious Fatalflaw! Scamming them blind! And they get to be a popular youtuber!? What a sick joke! I should've stopped them when I had the chance! And you - you have to stop them! You-
I remember falling for household hacker's hifi speaker thing. Aluminum foil and a deep paper plate and an aux cord. I was like 12 years old tho 😂
I was just looking for something to watch while I eat and got blessed with this upload just in time 😌 thanks wavy
Bon appetit friend!
Same me and my fiancé are gonna watch this and eat lmao
I remember having an internship at a tech company around the time the channel popped up. Of course I knew a lot of the videos were jokes and sent it to my boss at the time. He actually believed a few of the tricks, I literally caught him wrapping his phone around with an Ethernet cord, I had to run into the bathroom to laugh my head off. Ended up telling him later the whole channel was fake and at first he was mad but then he laughed it up. Good times.
240p standard definition is something that I needed wavy to say to me all this time.
"what about the time a how to channel disseminated false and incorrect information on purpose?"
5 min crafts does that hourly so its not that suprising
Damn you just unlocked a memory that was hidden away for over a decade.
I wasted a lot of time as a kid trying to unlock 'Wrap Around' Mode on Mine Sweeper. I was so mad when it didn't work lol
3:50 i guess you could say they're Abduct Tales
Now I know where ThioJoe got his ideas from
Yep
@@ThioJoe lmao
Damn, they were behind the Old Spice ads? Lasagna Cat was such a wild ride
Kinda crazy that they're actually making a Google TV now, they predicted the future.
It is,The GOOGLE TV are still on at Home and watch some more shows like Starz,HBO Max,Netflix,Apple TV,ESPN,FS1,FS2 and many more channels was here.
Oh my god! I can’t even with this! Lmao!😂😂😂. What fuckery was this?
I know that Michael MJD already made a video on InfiniteSoloutions.
Fun fact if you sign into Twitter from your PS3 you can set the date forward by one week which lets me see all the draft posts that haven’t been finalized yet, which let me click the link to this video when it was still unlisted, bypassing all pay walls for early access. It’s a bit tricky but if you turn the WiFi off right the orange light flashes 6 or 7 times then restart the ps3 it should work after a few times. This time it took 13 tries. This only works with Twitter and the ps3 tho. Probably why Sony wants to shut down the ps3 since it and Twitter are miles behind on UI functions on the new 5 g.
