As a teen who grew up using Omegle I bet the person who witnessed the shooting most likely didn’t even believe it was real since people would play recordings of others doing such things or worse on a loop… they probably have no idea what they witnessed and for their sake maybe it’s better that way.
@@__vinnix6158 it was a different person though, remember the initial girl who asked if he had a gun skipped them while he was in the bathroom and he got matched with a different anonymous person when he came back
As a former Marine... It is 100% NOT unusual for military men to play stupidly with guns. They get in trouble for it during trainings and outside of military supervision they're 100% not safe. Military members are more comfortable with guns and many act more stupidly than the average person with them because of so. Yes we are trained, but that doesn't mean they utilize it 100% of the time.
Yeah that means shouldn't have guns even if you treat it as a joke once guns only purpose is to kill. Who jokingly points a gun at someone and pulls the trigger? And irresponsible murder. Like I'm pretty sure it's easy to know if the gun is loaded and safety is off.
The whole responsible gun ownership... Even people with proper training can be irresponsible and accidentally kill people. I'm not for banning all guns, I just want less people to die needlessly from crap like this. (And like even with all these guns, US sucked at Olympic shooting, wat?)

I honestly feel bad for the creator of Omegle. I can't imagine waking up to find out that your platform is popular but for all of the wrong reasons. I'm glad that he shutdown the site and I hope he's doing well
Let's be real. You couldn't imagine waking up and discovering anything you created had adorned any type of attention at all. Because you are not a talented creator.
You don't just wake up and realize this, they literally facilitated this kinda content and behavior for yeeeeears. If they didn't know, (which they definitely did) they're incredibly negligent for not monitoring their own platforms.
@@shoobydoohe was trying to add multiple ways to avoid stuff like that from happening tbf so he definitely knew just didn’t know how to stop it which is fair considering it’s a free site and he probably wasn’t making enough to add the proper moderation/security
Thanks for not overly censoring the video. I understand why RUclips channels do it but if you are talking about true crime, you should be allowed to say the crimes involved
Yes! Truecrime is a serious topic and some channels respect the victims and subject matter. But all the facts and the harsh truth gets thrown out the window when they have to replace perfectly normal words with "advertiser friendly" variations that also butcher the English language; more than it already is. At some point, YT has to understand that a few years ago, "horror" and horror-adjacent channels had big sponsors from brands that matched the tone of the videos. Not every sponsor is squeaky clean Disney for kids. Hell, MeatCanyon has been sponsored and collaborated with Bad Dragon.
Hey I actually played a part on Krystal Scott's arrest aka Crazy Cat Lady. A crazy woman who would kill cats for pleasure, broadcast it, then taxidermize them. She defended herself on a live stream claiming we had the wrong person. We would eventually match up the furniture of her place to the videos, identify the street she was on, and got her address. Once a report was submitted, police took it from there onwards. I just remember sitting in a discord call, listening to the police radio, waiting for a unit to respond. And I was doing this from the other side of the world because school was out and I had nothing to do.
so my question to you, Krystal blamed her need to hurt small animals on an alleged sexual assault from her x-boyfriend. Why would a man be dating a lesbian? maybe he admired Krystal's cut off flannel shirt and hi top fade but that's kind of gay no? unless Krystal was pretending to be a man dating another gay man and he found out she was a lesbian and s.a. ed Krystal for revenge but did he finish? he would have to be bi-sexual. Did I nail It? Reply

Justifying it with "I was weak and helpless when he did that to me, now if I do a bad thing to something smaller than me, i will be the one feeling empowered" and as we see with serial killers, it develops from insects to small pets to cats/dogs, eventually children, and then adults who are drugged/have a handicap.... I really can't get behind that way of thinking as someone with empathy even for items I break by accident haha, let alone living creatures :( Or the thought process of "Somebody hurt me, time to make someone completely unrelated suffer for it, and become just like my torturer" ....
There is no such thing as an accidental discharge, only a personally negligible discharge. Never, ever, point a gun, even cleared and unloaded, at anything or anyone you do not have full intention or willing to destroy. Basic firearm responsibility 101. There is no gray area about this, no cap.
Accidental discharges do actually exist. That's the term for a discharge that was completely out of the hands of the user of the weapon. An example would be a pistol firing while being loaded due to a stuck firing pin/striker. It's much rarer than a negligent discharge, but it still exists.
@@alfsleftnut9224 Sort of. Same kind of issue found in the Type 94 pistol where if you dropped it or applied pressure in the wrong spot it would drop the hammer as if you pulled the trigger. Though the Sig 320 was a lot more safe than the Type 94.
@@16apec So i do understand your point but context is important here - if you’re pointing a gun you’re actively loading at someone and there’s an “accidental” discharge due to a pin, that would still be a personally negligible discharge, because you (general you, not you you) are a fucking idiot if you shoot someone that way and didnt mean to

If you´re a parent: It´s REALLY easy these days to block harmful sites and limit your kids access to social media to certain times.
I only went on omegle once. My older sister told me to not go on video chat, so i listened, i went to text, my experience honestly wasn't bad. but omegle has to be one of the most infamous websites ever.
I mainly used the text portion also when I got on there and it wasn’t as bad I met a good few people I started talking to off the website also back then
I had a lot of fun times on omegle. I met a lot of really nice people and had great conversations. But my time on Omegle was also uncomfortable for many reasons. The amount of predators on there was revolting.

Fun fact: Roman soldiers wore the pelt of their fallen Dogs over their shoulders. They commonly used Cane Corsos (Italian mastiff) to carry supplies, charge enemy formations with pots of oil, Forrest combat and other military roles. I neglected to add that this is also the origin of the Italian folklore "skin-walkers".... Frontline soldiers often had nothing to lose besides the dog assigned to them, and when that dog was slain, it was quite customary for the soldier to make off with a child of the enemy who he would raise, to take his dogs place at his side in combat, and to "die a dog" as vengeance

I actually met my partner on Omegle, a week before the shutdown. Kinda miraculous, when I think about it. We were 350 miles apart, and I made a trek to visit them a couple months after we matched. Now we live together and I'm the happiest I've ever been
I met someone on the Ome. App and i thought that person I could be a friends with and I liked that person oh and from another country which I was very interested learning about, but the person made me so uncomfortable and then turned out to be a creep and then looking for more “victims.” I was very sad bc I really liked the person and thought thought he was interesting and cool person to talk to 😢
Omegle needed to shut down. I was unfortunately matched with a woman who was putting her mouth on her infant child where it really shouldn't have been. Some shit, you wish you could unsee.
JFC! That's extreme even by the standard of awful things I witnessed on the site. I am very sorry that you have to witness that and I hope you were able to cope with it in a healthy manner.
There's ways to make this site safe. They just may not have been used. Ip logging and a report button that records a video clip for review and evidence would have went a long way
Yeah I saw two kids underaged doing some fucking awful things to eachother. Made me feel extremely dirty and I left the site forever after that. It was way before the shutdown but still… send chills down my spine.
i was preteen with access to omegle around 2012-2014. i never used the webcam version but just the chat option. i interacted almost nightly with people several times my age who really liked asking me questions about my body. i leaned into it because i was getting attention i wasn't getting at home. it was toxic, it was vile, and i feel so ashamed of the things i said and let happen to me on there to this day. I'll admit, hearing the site was shut down made me breath a weepy sigh of relief hoping it'll at least save one kid from what i ended up in.

Omegle videos were wild as all hell back then. There are so many videos of people pranking each other online, saying ridiculous shit, and unfortunately, being creepy as fuck too.

Sadly you're saying that from a very Western world point of view where we are taught that "just a kid" is the most innocent thing. I was the only virgin in my class at age 14. I collected action figures, rode my bike and chilled with my cat at that age. Everyone around me was bragging about what body parts were put in where each weekend parties. Girls talking about looking for any objects they could find to put in places as their puberty was going wild. At 14. It is sadly the bleak truth that these kids are really into it, which is why these guys go out to find these girls because there is a large quantity that are into it. I wish I could live in your innocent world, though.. I felt like such an alien at 14 when I was the only one not attending the parties the other 14 years olds were, where things were happening.
@@PainElemental It was the same way when I was in school, I was the kid that stayed home and did nothing but play video games and never did anything else. I was "the loser". I remember Omegle with a nostalgia because I met really good friends on it. I knew the regular version had the perv, but there was a college section in which you had to verify yourself with your college email. I remember legit college people used to communicate and make friends on it. I have been on the internet in one respect or another since sometime in the 90's. Not once - not ever - not even by accident have I found myself looking for or at CP and have never talked to a minor. I mean, how hard can it be to leave children alone? I have found it remarkably easy. I guess that's just me though.
I saw some once (might have been fake) on 4chan, sort of. It looked like 2 minor male teens kissing shirtless. At the time I thought it was a joke. In retrospect I think it was a cropped screenshot from real CP. i didn't click anything to see it, if you know how /b/ works you just scroll an infinite feed basically.
When my now-25 year old was 12, they were groomed on Omegle by a man in his 30s. When they told the guy they were 12, he said he was also 12, and they spoke as friends for a while. Whenever they tried to make the conversation sexual, my child would always steer the conversation in a more wholesome direction, because they were never comfortable talking about that type of thing. At some point, he revealed his true age, and my baby was able to completely cut off all contact from the guy, blocking him and deleting their Omegle account. They are still traumatized by that and is sometimes triggered by it. I was never told who the guy was so I could report him, because they didn't want to talk about it. They just wanted to forget, so we dropped it. It still enrages me to this day.

I hate when people try and blame the platform for their poor parenting, like yeah maybe your 11 year old daughter shouldn't be on a website that's motto is literally "Chat with strangers" much less being on there unsupervised! Like I'm not excusing that it happened but holy shit it makes me mad seeing parents blame a website (or videogame, movie, TV show, ect) when something happens to their kid, or the kid does something wrong. Like "Oh it's omegle's fault my 7 year old daughter was taken advantage of and made to make some cheese pizza" not the parent who let the kid sit unsupervised on omegle, and not only that but for long enough for it to lead to the kid doing something explicit on camera. Idk there's just so many examples of parents not being parents, and then x bad thing happens to their kid and it's x thing's fault, not the parent heavens no!
You have no kids. It shows, because you clearly assume one can supervise one's child 24/7. *Not possible.* Your child isn't your toy anyway, you do have to give them leeway. I'm not saying no parent is irresponsible, of course ; there ARE many parents who clearly neglect their kids. But often times, when people say "parents should have supervised their kids!", I think "THANK YOUUU CAPTAIN HINDSIGHT!" I have a different, but similar philosophy: I hate it when people blame the platform instead of the _criminals._ Complaints about the platforms only push them to censor their userbase. This is a negative for us all Internet users.
While I agree parents need to supervise, and kids get older this isn't practical, fully possible, or even good for the kids. This is a social issue that needs to be dealt with on a society wide level. I think children should not be allowed social media or gaming accounts, full stop, and platforms should be held criminally liable for verifying age of users. Parents should also be required to protect their children's privacy online. It would go a looooooong way toward fixing society.
One thing i remember when visiting Omegle in its late days was the fact it was full of porn ads which was kinda messed up considering there where a lot of minors there and the guy running it clearly knew that.

I was literally on Omegle the night before it shut down and the next day I opened it up in my phone. It was so devastating but I was also pretty glad and overtime thinking about it like this is the best thing that could happen today it’s crazy. I was there when it happened.

I remember back in 2020 me and my friend were doing our online school at his house (we just helped each other out) and, at 11 years old for both of us, we went on Omegle. We were home alone, so we're were making obnoxious noises on the video chats. We sat away from the camera on his computer, and just screamed. Had fun. There were many times we encountered a guy playing himself, and me and my friend were doing our screams and the guys reaction was priceless. His gf(?) came home and screamed at him for yacking off on Omegle, and thought me and my friend were girls moaning. me and friend were laughing our butts off for days after.
A veteran, someone who was trained to operate firearms, failed to follow the most basic rule regarding them: never aim a gun at someone unless you intend to shoot. I don't blame investigators whatsoever for believing that murder was intentional.
Fun fact: sometimes people value something more if they pay for it. Buying a lean cuisine at the store for $5 doesn't really make you feel committed like spending $400.
So 8 meals for 100 dollars a week, little over 10 dollars per meal which based on the quality products and the hyper inflation thanks to sleepy Biden that's trippled the price of everything from gas to utilities to rent and food, that's actually not bad, way cheaper than a macdonalds burger at 17 dollars now.
@PsRohrbaugh I will value a 15 dollar steak more than I will value a 100 dollar steak. One is going to make me happy and the other is going to make me question my financial decisions.
I used to play on omegle before the webcam option was added and it was kinda fun. Used to see how fast we could get people to leave from just saying weird (but harmless) things. I didn't even know until a few years ago that webcams even got added. I can't imagine how they wouldn't have immediately known that THIS was the way it was going to go when they decided to add that feature.

Main problem: Instead of actually paying attention to what their kids do on the internet, American parents expect the internet to be for kids. Nowadays you get your videos on youtube demonetized for using the f-word just because some people think that shouldn't be said online - even when your content isn't intended for kids in the first place. My 2010 forester waterpump died. On a remote farm, I had no easy options. Because of you and other youtubers, I steeled myself to replace it myself. I ordered a full timing and waterpump kit from Subaru, bought two torque wrenches, and set to work. Getting the old gasket off the block was the hardest part, requiring much foul language, great care and quite some time. Apart from that, all went well. The car has 320 000 km on it. I didn't change the front main seal or the oil pump seals...Next time. Because the car was immobilised in a remote part of Australia, I bought a new forester to keep me on the road because I needed to get to work reliably. What a car! I put the eyesight system on and it runs everything. It's quiet, smooth and 35 percent more fuel efficient! Audi has no answer to this. Thanks for giving me the insight I needed to realise that anyone with a basic mechanical aptitude can have the endless pleasure of lying under a car, gently removing an old gasket that should not have been sealed as it was in the first place, and the tremendous fun of discovering that my vaunted mechanic had used non genuine parts when last the pump and timing belt were replaced.

What are the. Hey Google. RUclips website
Hell No , Sellout
I didn’t grow up with it since I was 16 because I didn’t use it
As a teen who grew up using Omegle I bet the person who witnessed the shooting most likely didn’t even believe it was real since people would play recordings of others doing such things or worse on a loop… they probably have no idea what they witnessed and for their sake maybe it’s better that way.
Yeah fr, I remember thinking I got paired up with some famous RUclipsr back in the day but it was just a video on loop. That's horrible though
Came here to say this. I seen a lot of crazy shit on there, assumed all of it was fake.
I remember these too. I agree. They probably never knew.
I would agree if it weren't for the person to ask if they had a gun. It would be a coincidence but highly doubt it.

Let's be real. You couldn't imagine waking up and discovering anything you created had adorned any type of attention at all. Because you are not a talented creator.
Its all of social media, all of social media is popular for all the wrong reasons human nature and all that.
He didn’t exactly shut down the site because of the pedophilia though..
Thanks for not overly censoring the video. I understand why RUclips channels do it but if you are talking about true crime, you should be allowed to say the crimes involved
Yea honestly yt needs to change their policy not just that but complete overhaul because who the fuck keeps screwing everyone?
Agreed. It can also take wait away from words that describe horrific crimes or abuse, indirectly minimizing the events themselves.
I’m tripping or did that Finkbiner dude look like BTK🤨

Ah, the internet. Bad weirdos and the good weirdos who catch them.
so my question to you, Krystal blamed her need to hurt small animals on an alleged sexual assault from her x-boyfriend. Animal cruelty needs harsher punishment. If you can do that to animals then you are a danger to people.

There's a reason why people say those kinds of people could end up as serial killers
Not just that but like why the fuck would you do that to an animal? For me its not about leading up to humans to hunt but if you're doing it to animals to be a lil sick fuck then you need to go
And her saying that she wants to scare others because her boyfriend hurt her makes me think that's even more true tbh.
@@JewelWildmoon Yeah, the way she worded it sounded like a power fantasy that these kinds of people get.

As someone from Indiana, I feel like I heard my state mentioned all the time on your channel
I remember using Omegle before it got shut down and the very first fucking dude I got in contact with (using the text only thing, not the video chat option) put something like "40 looking for 16 for online fun" or something like that and I just closed the tab and said to myself "well, never going on there again"
On the Colin case: I've never owned a gun, nor have i had training. But with the little i do know is, you're supposed to treat EVERY GUN, unloaded or not, as though it's loaded.
So, a trained military professional pointing at someones head is suspicious as all hell
So as a military person, I will be the first person to tell you that military people are so ungodly stupid. And if he *was* drunk, it is 100% believable that he decided to fuck around and find out.
"If she didn't like it she should've said to stop"
MY DUDE, SHE WAS A KID
Sadly he ain't really give a damn
Not only that, she was 11-12 years old when it all went down. She may not even know what s-x is at that age. Along with the fear of confrontation over that, she may be too young to even know the full nature of what's going on.
The kids in middle school and high school were fucking like rabbits, but honestly that's normal because as you said, puberty. Hormones are crazy as fuck around that time.
But the key difference is that they were all basically the same age.
@flarestorm9417 My daughter is 13 and we had to talk to her about what sex really was thanks to learning how to use a tampon. If anyone asked her to do things sexually, she wouldn't even know how it works because she hasn't been exposed to that stuff other than depictions in movies or stuff from rap songs she listens to. Kids are naive and not educated at all on sex. It's either friends, porn or family that will teach them for better or worse.

Having lived in Indiana and having some relatives that still live there, I don't think there is much to see aside from the Indy 500.
Pawpaws are pretty cool, too, and Indiana is full of them, but that's more of a niche thing.
I think that Indiana has some very friendly people, but not much in the way of tourist destinations.
Just my opinion.
We really don't have much to see for tourism really.

I remember Omegle with a nostalgia because I met really good friends on it. I knew the regular version had the perv, but there was a college section in which you had to verify yourself with your college email. I remember legit college people used to communicate and make friends on it. I still keep in touch with 4 really good friends i made in omegle all over the U.S. I feel bad that everything went downhill because some idiots wanted to expose themselves.
Whenever I miss Omegle I realise how rude people were on there and all the sickos and how I always got skipped and I start to think "womp womp to that hellhole"

Oh btw I was younger than the ppl depicted at the time I saw this.
Since this is not the first time I've noticed.: Terra "Hoe-t", is how you say that town's name.
That's where the federal execution prison is. Timothy McVeigh was executed there.

Creeps are everywhere bruh. If you have children in this day and time, you need to keep a close rein on them unfortunately...
There are also a lot of missing people in that area. It's insane.
This sucks, I met my best friend on Omegle in 2016. We refer to each other as siblings, I was in his wedding, and his step kids call me auntie now. Unlikely pairing, he’s 5 years older than me but literally the older brother I never had. Know for a fact scrolling Omegle chat that night was literally one of the best things that ever happened to me.

I remember hearing about that Colin guy in Henderson. Grew up in the same city. Idk why a military guy would think it’s okay to put a gun to someone’s head like that.
The site was absolutely plagued by horrible shit. Based on the last time me and friends touched it years ago. Every other person was a perv touching themselves, a person streaming child pornography, a child themselves doing something, depressed people, and beastiality. The times you got normal people to chat with. Half the conversation was spent talking about the horrible things you just saw or past experiences on the platform.
I was actually binging some of your videos yesterday wondering when you'd post again, and here you are! Hoping the best for you, Wavy!
Used Omegle from ages 13-15. Let me just say I was NOT surprised to find out the site that had creeps who knew I was underage expose themselves to me as well as eventually me being groomed.

"don't talk to strangers on the internet"...also "here's a website dedicated to video chat with strangers on the internet"
Man im so glad at 30 now that i never touched the site even once.
Same fr lmaooo
But often times, when people say "parents should have supervised their kids!", I think "THANK YOUUU CAPTAIN HINDSIGHT!"
I have a different, but similar philosophy: I hate it when people blame the platform instead of the _criminals._ Complaints about the platforms only push them to censor their userbase.
3 predators from Indiana alone is wild, somebody needs to investigate that place 😭
Holy shit, not one, not two, but THREE of these Omegle creeps are from Indiana.

Brother nearly 400 usd a month for 8 microwave meals a week, so less than half of a normal diets calories, thats kinda nuts.
Fun fact: sometimes people value something more if they pay for it. Buying a lean cuisine at the store for $5 doesn't really make you feel committed like spending $400.
Oh, well. If it's not harming anyone, I suppose it's fine for him to get money.
That is an insane price though
There's never going to be a RUclips add for good deals, because you're paying not only for the product but also the very expensive advertising.
@PsRohrbaugh I will value a 15 dollar steak more than I will value a 100 dollar steak.
One is going to make me happy and the other is going to make me question my financial decisions.

I used to play on omegle before the webcam option was added and it was kinda fun. Used to see how fast we could get people to leave from just saying weird (but harmless) things.
