Same! Maps is how I took my first solo trip to DC after hs graduation.. there was no google.. I used maps to get there from NC and then got to a phone booth when I got as close as my could 🤣🤣

I'm recently retired & seriously giving consideration to getting away from my lease my SUV & moving into a van. I have a niece that recently sold her car & bought a 5th wheel RV & a pu truck. Off the grid I'm so proud of & happy for you all.

I love traveling but in my car, I am old-school and will write down where I'm going and how to get there. I have used GPS, and just last year it got me lost in California for over five or six hours and totally out of my way by over 500 miles. Thanks for all the great tips, I plan on getting back out there once the pandemic quiets down a bit more to finish my journey of visiting all fifty states, I only have 13 more to go. I have been to Canada and would love to go to other places as well, went to Niagara Falls/Ontario, St. Catharine,s and Toronto.

I can relate to your gallon of water baths. When hurricane Maria hit the island, no electricity for 30 days and baths were exactly what you described, a gallon to wash and a gallon of water to rinse! Been there, done that. Bless you and God be with you during your journey 👍🏻

Walmart's and Walgreens lighted up gas stations and Target's also some hotels will allow you to use there accessory facilities!
