Hi Lawrence, on rebar tagging, min 18:46, for that Qty tag, are you reporting Quantity parameter value or are you reporting the Host Count Value? For first option, doesn´t works cause is reading always 1, as 1 bar on that individual set. If the solution is the second one, is a feature which has already available on Revit 2022 isn´t? I would like to understand how works interally that tag you selected. Thanks!
Good upgrades just painfully slow. After using plus spec for sketchup for a year and then switching to revit it feel like it takes forever for revit to catch up.
Great video. In terms of RC scheduling Lawrence... What's the current state? Is this to work in tandem with a dynamo script? We've predominantly detailed using CADS RC... gives us more control over change control items.. However, it's more work and time management. What's a good RC combination these days to use with Revit?
Hi Mark, long story, most of the schedule can be completed as per standards but 99s and fabricated fabrics need other methods. We have a tool at Symetri, Naviate S that plugs these holes. send me a mail if you want some more info
Hi there, does anyone have a beginner's video to let me watch and learn how to do rebar in Revit from bar placement to bending schedule? Thanks in advance.
Video Presentation: 10/10, below is a critique of Revit itself. I feel like the program is being marketed to do things which it is not well suited for. It's causing huge issues downstream. Rebar detailing has especially gone downhill since Revit took over. Even if it saves you a few seconds (in the end it doesn't), detailing rebar incorrectly causes all sorts of headaches for everyone else. It's faster to detail reinforcing CORRECTLY without Revit. Not to mention the presentational issues. Unless the walls are tilt-up panels they are wrong (if you want to see what mixing precast and cast in place results in, look up Opal Tower in Sydney Australia). The new tools are cool, but you'll reach a snag that ends up taking more time to fix that all the time saved with the new tools. When designers use up their allotted time budget they miss/skip things and take shortcuts. Not good. Tekla is better but about 1.5x more expensive. One of the commenters mentioned Plus Spec? for Sketchup. Never used it personally. There's various other plug-ins but they are what I call "low ceiling" plug-ins; they will work well for those who don't want to establish their own workflow, but not for those who are able to optimize their workflow for their own specific needs.
Hello, just to give my opinion about your comment. Yes shortcuts as always can be dangerous, but I think those upgrades are awesome if we understand how it S work, how work the constrains, and if we are good an conscious in our work. I notice that Revit evolve in a good way for the reinforcement. I do since 3 years my reinforcement plans on revit, the quality is good, the final work looks really good. And now with the différents propagations tools, i can imagine all the new opportunities that are possible. I think you re right there are some better logiciel for reinforcement, what I like here it’s that everything is in 1 logiciel. And honestly revit reinforcement is enough for most of the projects.
@@lusai786 What are you actually reinforcing though? That would tie your whole argument together. I've seen 'okay' results with tilt-up structures. But the catch is that with simple structures, easily done in CAD complete with a bending schedule and quantity list. I've never seen anyone produce good reinforcing drawings in Revit adhering to ACI (or any other) codes, let alone a useable bar bending schedule and quantity list. If the drawings aren't correctly detailed or you can't quantify the reinforcing, there is no point in modelling it in the first place is there? More often than not it just creates confusion. Now... let's say someone is doing it correctly in Revit (they'd be 1 out of 100) they are slower than someone using Tekla or other tailor-made software.
Informative as always!
these changes are really awesome

Christian, AGA CAD WF Suite is a great add on for timber framing.
wow, that rebar tagging got me amazed. been wondering why revit did not have this ability, i am so excited now.

Hi thanks!! Is there a good ad-in or app for woodframes / walls?

@@RevitStructureBlog will do Thanks.
Propagate rebar is a real time saver🙏
Does it work for slabs and beams as well?
Thanks
Its a very good new feature. It will work for beams and slabs. You can also propagate the rebar by face which is useful for slabs
Thanks
finally tagging multiple rebars are implemented

I have a few on my site but nothing in one single video.

Смотрим, смотрим.... столько к этому ревиту вопросов накопилось. Очень не хватает запилов деревянных конструкций разной геометрии.
I used standard Revit framing families. You can also use Dynamo to automate the timber framing.
