Enderal has taken me down such a beautiful tangent on my Elder Scrolls journey I felt I had a duty to put it on the pedestal it deserves! This video is NOT sponsored; it's just a love-letter from me
I've been playing it along side my "ESO" series; where I try "The Elder Scrolls Online" for the first time and it's been such a great experience. I just hope someone out there finds this video and re-discovers your nostalgic-passion for Skyrim; that's the end goal. I'm always active in my discord, please don't hesitate to drop by and ask me questions about Enderal: discord.gg/7emp

As requested - I saw this video and was sold on the idea that it will feel akin to playing Skyrim for the first time again. Absolutely spot on. As mentioned, it IS a different game. Nothing about it is recognisable apart from the basic feel of the engine. The world is fantastic, sprinkled with excellent environmental story telling and secrets that we all love in Bethesda games. The story is gripping, surprising, dark and enthralling. The skill systems are impeccable and engaging. I've completely fallen in love and so so happy I stumbled across this video.

I was trying to play it like Skyrim, and kept getting my ass handed to me. Your vid helped me see at least some of the things I was doing wrong. It was also smartly done and easy to watch/listen. Liked/Subscribed, looking forward to more. This game needs more love.

I'm so glad you gave this game attention. I really want a lot of people to know and experience Enderal, especially its world and its storyline. The first time I saw Enderal was from a playthrough here on RUclips since I didn't have the computer to play it by myself back then and the storyline was something that stuck with me all those years leaving me with "void" feeling knowing that the ending isn't guaranteed but in a way, I find that it's great they didn't just put a "the hero wins" ending.

This project and Nehrim, Enderal's predecessor, honestly are two of my all-time favourite games. These two projects are just baffling; I have trouble imagining the level of dedication and creative energy that made them see the light of day at all, yet I imagine that it was the total creative freedom together with the meaningful storytelling that made these two games so interesting. Both innovated beautifully on the games they were based on, provided fun rpg character-building options in a world with remarkably deep narratives, they including compelling companions (well, maybe Nehrim's Kim was a bit so-so) while also having philosophical undercurrents. They are simply art. Free but very dang good art.

What a coincidence. After putting it down a couple of times over the years, I finally beat Enderal for the first time a couple of days ago.
I am so glad that I never gave up on it as it is worth every bit of struggle it gave me. And after I was done? I went for a nice crisp piece of meat. >:)
Something worth mentioning is that Enderal is actually the fourth game in a series that SureAI has made off of Elder Scrolls engines. Meaning that there are also two Morrowind based games and an Oblivion based game out there to play as well! And just like Enderal, the Oblivion engine game Nehrim is also a cult classic

Without going too deep into it, the books had to be divorced from Enderal due to a situation with one of the other SureAI developers, not Bethesda. I managed to get two copies of Dreams of the Dying from before and after the copyright stuff happened (I really wanted the sweet worldbuilding that comes with the hardcover's index section) - but even after the changes, the book is definitely worth reading as a sort of "spiritual successor" to Enderal in mind, for those who want more after finishing the game and liked Jespar (I cannot stress how amazing the audiobook is, too. It has the same voice actors and composer from the game to really make it feel like an extension of the same story from another "Eventuality"). The second book should be coming out soon and I'm really looking forward to it.
But yeah, great video! Really glad to see more Enderal content and hope to see more people play and appreciate this gem.

Enderal atmosphere is unmatched in my opinion and the music is what immersive you the most since its just so fitting for the location, quest and themes of the game, the dream sequence music and the manor mission piano version, the undercity, and the ending of the rhalata questline and tavern musics are highlights but everything is perfectly crafted for where and when it will be used. Its definitely one of the best soundtracks in gaming.

I finished up my first play-through of Enderal a few months ago, and was completely blown-away by the story, world, characters, and just everything. It was like reading an amazing fantasy novel, but actually being able to play through it in game form. Not to mention the main quest-line took me over 30 hours to finish, just focusing on it alone. After I had finished my first play-through, which in my first one I mainly just focused on the main quest line, I then started my second and took my time doing side quests and stuff. Without any spoilers, there is one specific side quest that took me like 20 hours to finish, and I'd never have known it even existed if I hadn't stumbled across it doing another side quest. Enderal will forever be one of my favorite not just RPGs, but games I've ever played. I wish I could enjoy it for the first time again. It also has an AMAZING sound track, imo much better than Skyrim's (which says a lot, I really enjoy Skyrim's soundtrack as well). I'm still blown away that Enderal is free. If I could give any advice to someone looking to try it for the first time, it'd be this: Take your time. The main quest is so good you'll probably just want to speed to the end and see how it plays out, but trust me, take your time and explore, do side quests, and enjoy the detailed world. There's many times in the story where a quest has you wait two or three in-game days. Don't just go sleep to continue - use these times to prepare and explore, or start/finish other quests. It will be worth it :)

Im one of the people Frostbreak talked to on his discord about enderal. I only managed to play a few hours this weekend but i was surprised by the game. coming from those 2.6k hours in eso, I got so used to easy combat that its been an adjustment for Enderal.
I was delighted with the enemy AI. was using a bow and after two hits, the bandit learned exactly how to avoid my hits and i had to change my attack pattern MID FIGHT. the chaos alone getting into that first settlement is on par with the entire helgen to riverwood sequence, and that chaos was unscripted. I simply wandered too deep into the wilderness and ran away from spiders, bandits and wolves.
Thank you for the talk and video man. I cant wait to get back to it

Enderal is the reason I had faith in Fallout: London. Doubt was reasonable but, I knew that something on its scale had been done once before - and it could be done again. Its pretty cool that if you own Skyrim and Fallout 4, you own 4 games. Enderal is one of a few games (for me) that hit so well you had to just sit there and let the credits roll while you figure out just what you want to do with your time next. I fuckin love mods, Enderal is a true testament to creative freedom when it isnt beholden to shareholders and time/money constraints.

I hope you take no offence, but your new stuff is miles better than your older videos (not saying they were bad, you're just at a different caliber now). Appreciate 'ya.

The story and setting of this game was a delight to discover. Some characters are really unforgettable. And certain quests are the some of the best I've ever dealt with in a videogame, like this one about a certain child in the east of the map. This one really struck me out. Also, the whole questline with that guild from the undercity is quite the experience too. And also the one about a certain flying ship getting you in a certain place.
Honestly I feel like I robbed the developpers by getting for free. They much deserve to be payed for the experience they put me through with this game. My only criticism is that I found the gameplay to be quite harsh sometimes.
And nice video by the way. You perfectly set what Enderal is about and how it differs from Skyrim at the very beginning.

When Enderal trailer was announced at the time it was a crazy feeling, for years there were lots of mods released but there wasnt anything really like Enderal, everyone felt like Skyrim 2.0 was about to be released, there were and still other other world size mods being made: skyblivion, beyond skyrim; skywind etc but Enderal's release was wild at the time, it felt so real, and it was a boost in hope for the other projects, many of which are still being made till this day

    Oh, a video about Enderal.
Here is my view, my like and my comment. It is that simple.
I first discovered Enderal when Forgotten Stories was first released. Saw it on a twitch stream and it stayed with me ever since.
Completed it several times, did most (if not all but I might have missed something) side content/quests, explored the world and lost myself in its narration.
The writing, the story, the themes and motives, the music, the aesthetics .. everything comes together to create the (for me) ultimate role playing experience.
Can only recommend giving this game a go!
I kind of understand people though, who have trouble getting into it.
It's hard and it's really different from other "modern" games, more of a classic old school RPG, but the intro suggests otherwise, it's very gripping and modern, so I was kind of confused after about 2 hours, when I realized how different this is going to be and it took a while to get a grasp of how the game is supposed to work.
But once you pass that initial barrier, you are in for the most intense ride I have every experienced in a game.
My favourite 3 quests are "A Song in the Silence", "Angel" and "Dark Chambers of our Mind".
They conquered my empathy, my tears and my soul.

I've been playing Enderal for years and I am still absolutely in love with it. The story still makes me tear up at some points and I seem to continuously find new interesting quests and places with every new playthrough I do.
I've also read the book 'Dreams of the Dying' and through Jespar, you can really feel the vibe of Vyn (planet where Enderal is located).

One of the important parts of Enderal is in my opinion that it is BEAUTIFUL. The way SureAI built the world is with less vast open areas like you have in base game Skyrim in Whiterun. This way the devs were far more aware of how exactly the player would be approaching an area. This leads to the areas the player will move through being far, far superior to Skyrim's aesthetics because there is just so much density and most importantly INTENT in the environment, something Bethesda seems to have lost along the way more recently.

Enderal itself is a love letter to older games I think, where companies were led by people with passion for their projects. That's not to say game developers aren't passionate, they are - and they work their asses off. But it's hard to hold onto that passion when your bosses say "No, make it more marketable, make it appeal more to the mainstream."
Enderal is a great example of the potential in video games. It's fun, philosophy, art all in one. Born from vision of a man who wanted to create a message, and a beautiful world.

After I saw this video, I tried Enderal and I LOVED IT! It's so so so good, it has such a deep story and is overall so incredibly beautiful, even without mods. I didn't think it would look nearly as good as it does, and the music. oh my god the music. It's so pretty, my favorite song so far is from the intro. It's so calm and peaceful but now seems tainted to listen to after seeing the tragedy that happened to the player character

Enderal just might be the best game I ever played. The writing is exceptional. It's so immersive I stayed emotionally shaken by it for a while. I was under the impression that most of the Skyrim community has played it as I heard about it from Skyrim FB groups. You mentioned the writer, Nicolas Lietzau, and I've followed him on FB for several years. Up until a year or two, Nicolas posted regularly and often replied to comments, I've even had conversations with him on messenger, mostly because I had just self-published a book while he was struggling with some self-publishing pitfalls. So direct from Nicolas, while he stated that he would not name names, he specified that neither Bethesda or SureAI was responsible for the copyright issues with his first novel. Think about it, Bethesda would have no legal rights to SureAI's fictional world, stories or characters. Since Enderal is a sequel to previous TES total conversion mods set in the same world (Nehrim for Oblivion and Arktwend for Morrowind), my guess is it was a previous SureAI writer who created some of the world and/or story, and I think Nicolas was required to change some of the world names and background he first published with. If you haven't read Dreams of the Dying, the first novel based on Jespar's back story, it's brilliant and emotionally wrenching. The rest of the Jespar trilogy is in its fourth draft and almost ready for publication, can't wait!

If you want other stories in Enderal's world the SureAI guys also made Nehrim: At Fate's Edge which is a total conversion mod for Oblivion, in Enderal's opening cinematic it talks about the war on the other continent, Nehrim is where you play through that & some characters do reappear in Enderal from Nehrim. Arktwend: The Forgotten Realm & Myar Aranath: Relict of Kallidar are less contected to the story in Enderal but they too are set in Vyn as total conversion mods for Morrowind, I have never played any of these myself, but if you want more Vyn that's where you'll have to go to find it.
