    Ratt's best. This was more metal than anything they released. I remember getting this on cassette from someone back in the early '80s. We lived in Sacramento, so anything from LA and SF back in those days was pretty bad ass.

    Seeing as The Crüe & Ratt were LA Natives & not someone wannabe's from different states moving in to LA , they will forever be the KINGS of Heavy/Glam Metal music . Everyone wanted to go to LA , dress sleazy & start a band after them . The true kings of the LA Sunset Strip baby !!!

      The real originators of the L.A. hard rock scene, Van Halen, had members from Chicago, Indiana, and the Netherlands. So where you're from doesn't mean shit, what you play is what matters

    One of the greatest first album demos ever made rat is an institution great guitar powerful Bass drummer is in the pocket wonderful wonderful I've enjoyed this since it was new and plan to listen to it for many many more years Rock on!

      @@MrPyroguru yes he was capable, but he lost heart with the band. He said he felt like the other guys were living a totally different life from him. So he turned to drugs and alcohol. As far as playing solos goes, Warren played all of the solos in the end. Robin didn't write anything if he did it was very little. He did try to come back in the end and I'm not sure, but it just didn't happen.

      @@Endo-uu8mo ratt didn't have the consistent albums that LA Guns have had. I love ratt, but their value goes down significantly after Undercover. The next album sold a million and then Detonator Sold over 500,000. Rat was great but after 1990 they were finished. The original group hasn't been together since. Infestation was okay but not essential. LA Guns have at least 15 essential albums in their discography wasn't trying to insult you earlier I haven't had a good day sorry about that

    I bought this right when it came out and bought Great White’s first one too. I had tickets to see Ratt and Dokken live but was canceled due to lack of ticket sales. They both were still not popular enough yet! I was so bummed. Finally saw Ratt at Day on the Green later.

    It's 1984, and a strawberry blonde co-ed at UCSD is demo'ing for me this EP (and Queensryche's then-new The Warning). She and that music became forever entwined. Both hot.

    this is good stuff. Beau Hill took the band to whole new level. One has to just compare back for more on the ep to the out of the cellar version. miles better !

      I found this at an antique store for $7 lol the cover is kind of rough and one of the corners is cut but the vinyl still sounds great

    I just bought two of this E P on vinyl, both original pressings, and one of them is a collectible “ for promotional purposes only “ marking on it. They do justice covering the late great Rufus Thomas’s WALKIN THE DIG, is thick, dirty and greeeezzy... just the way I like my heavy bluesy hard rock and heavy metal 🤘🎶🎸 Blotz’s drums on this are killer too

    According to Robbin Crosby in his interview on the VH-1 behind the scenes of RATT. The Ratt ep was a live recording, and had the crowd noise removed. He also stated that if you wanted to hear a true Ratt sound on album the EP was it, every album afterwards was polished so much the Ratt couldn't sound nowhere like they did on their follow up albums, live.... Rest in Peace Robbin KING Crosby...

    Was at the Beverly theater the night they signed with Atlantic records. This EP was epic! Had it on vinyl on time coast with original “you’re in trouble” version. The days!!!

    parts of TELL THE WORLD (esp near the end of the song) are very similar to motleys LOOKS THAT KILL riff,or vice versa ,im not sure which came first off the top of my head.
    THIS EP and OUT OF THE CELLAR is what RATT really wanted to sound like but after the success of OUT OF THE CELLAR the record company wanted another huge multi-platinum selling record and started steering them into a more pop-ish sound. INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY was a hit but you could sure tell they were no longer the RATT of their first two releases.

      Dokken came first with young girls, and then ratt, then motley I think. Nikki said "the song wrote itself" mainly because the song was already written for him

      Pug127 hadn't not only warren demartini tried out for dokken before lynch, but juan croucier was with them for a year while in ratt, he had writing credits on breaking the chains. it doesnt show he specifically got credits for that song so maybe there was just inspiration but there still couldve been some help.
      theres also a song on out of the cellar that uses the same riff, i think its in your direction and maybe even lack of communication, it seems to be way less present in tell the world than on the songs on that album.

    You think you're tough is a Great Song. The Refrain is excellent...a little bit buried in the mix but you still get how it was meant to be. Kicks Ass.
    The Guitarsolos are Good on every Song.

    Hearing this for the First Time, i like the Cover Artwork ( the One from the Album with the white socks is also very Cool) and the Sound is Fun Spirited. I like it. It’s pretty Good. I am going to the Park now listening to it, maybe I see some Rats......Greets from Germany.
