I installed the gen 4 system on my 70 cutlass. I took my dash out to do it. Running the duct tubing and hooking up the tubing was the biggest job. I used body push rivits to hold tubing in place. Great system.
I need to replace the radio on my 71 chevelle, do I have to pull the whole dash out to do this? Not a lot of room to access it while the dash is mounted.
Great vid, doing a 72 Chevelle as we speak, just started the install and watched all of your video's pertaining to this. I really like the "PREP" video, great idea.
Stickin w stock but modern compressor with Torqstorm super kit for my 502. Thx 4 showin wat ugot goin tho. Inside of my dash looks like urs from all my Autometers...ma b next vid, close garage door so we can C it all
I’m a little late to the conversation, but what if you were supposed to go over the top of the bracket with the duct work instead of cutting and going under the bracket?
I probably would have just welded in a new fabed bracket to give it some more room personally. On a side note did vintage air include a 6 rib compressor for your kit to go to the LS or did you just run a compressor from a LS motor on it ? I'm doing a LS3 72 chevelle project right now myself so I was curious
Man That Red interior is going to look dope, can't wait for interior time on mine. . .and good looking out on the interior dye paint I'm going to use the same thing on the Camaro dash!! Is that the brick red or the flame red?
@@goosseperformance1444 Dam that sucks I got the "legendary" brand door panel kit from OPGI. . .which ones do you have. . . (super hard to match colors when you're not doing a full custom one brand everything lol ) sounds like you got the Brick red instead of flame red, am I right. . . they only make two kinds. I have been holding off cuz I haven't seen any good clear photos of the 2 colors??
I am still working on my 1977 Monte Carlo SS I have to go get the engine tune LS1 swap what is a 350 small block V8 it's fuel injected I am almost done getting ready to put it back together what kind of rims you think I should put on it should I put ruchi's or Forgiatos it's just a street car not made for racing
I put my dash in place then ran the tubing for the vents. I ran that tube thru the front part of the mounting bracket, between the mount and the back of the glove box...worked great. You can see my build on IG sir_rb
As always Goosse you do GREAT job at explaining everything...I think what you did with the will work...I'm hoping to get mine installed soon...keep wrenching Goosse...
Very helpful

it would be best but not necessary
Just unbolt all the mounting points, from there you pull it back enough to get behind it. Just did this on a 72 SS

Couldn't you just route that duct over the bracket and glovebox instead of notching the bracket?
Damnnnn .... I'm just going to open the window,,,

What ever you feel comfortable spending you hard Earned money on, save some for the rest of the build
I'm wondering if vintage air expects you to route the ducting around that brace somehow
Yeah its a stupid location for that duct
