    My theory is that the SOS signal is a compilation of multiple people being lost, the first group or person that may have been lost started to build the sign but never finished and perished, then more people who would get lost find the incomplete sign then try to complete it themselves, it goes on and on until the sign is complete and hopeful someone finds it.

    Been to Japan a couple times now (and this year in April it will be the 4th time!) I read about local folklore a lot and all the yokai etc after I went to Kyoto in 2018. I never felt uneasy in Japan, from the start when I first landed in Narita in 2017, I felt at home. Even though I hate big cities, specially at night, I had no problem walking around the neighbourhood at 10 PM. Something I wouldn't do where I live honestly)
    But in Kyoto...idk...I stayed at an Airbnb in the north of Kyoto. It was purely a residential area which got really quiet after dark and I appreciated that. The second day I was there (I stayed like a week) I felt...weird when it went dark outside. Somehow like I was being watched by someone or something. It should be noted that like I said, I only went into the urban legends and folklore AFTER this visit. I can't really tell what it was exactly, but you know the feeling when you think something is lurking in the darkness and is focused on you? It was something like that.
    I had to go outside to have a cigarette and I didn't had any problems doing that over the previous 2 weeks when I stayed in Tokyo and Nagoya. But holy shit I felt so bad outside when it was dark and I noticed that very few people, actually from what I could gather there were none, would walk on the streets. Sure this can be accounted to the fact, that it was mostly weekdays and people had to sleep, but it felt off. To this day I have no Idea what happened there but from my previous experiences, this was very strange and almost disturbing. It still makes me think, since in 2019 when I was there for the 3rd time and I stayed in Osaka and Tokyo, something like this didn't happen again, and I was walking through weird districts in Osaka xD
    I feel like something was there during those 6 Days and had an eye on me and I rather don't want to have this feeling EVER again.
    Also I was mostly alone at that house and only one time there were some young people having a...Squid party...whatever that meant, I was told that by the owner. After they left I heard weird noises from downstairs like chairs getting pushed around. Or at least that is what it sounded like. I mean it could be that someone came to clean up, but it was like 1 AM in the morning so...Idk...It was very weird there lol

    i'm confused as to how the SOS signal wasn't found for 5 years

    • @bolbyballinger
      @bolbyballinger 2 года назад +9

      Maybe nobody got lost in that timeframe and the SOS wasn't made until after the Kenji search was called off?
      Alternatively the time of year might have mattered. When the grass is short it might show up fine, but if it's taller for some months it could easily hide the logs.
      So if people got lost in certain months the SOS might not have showed up.

      Yeah it's a real japanese island that was invaded by the mongolians. Obviously the game took some liberties but there's some real historical accuracy in the game. For example, Khotun Khan was actually there as part of the invasion. Another is that the mongolians were the first to bring powder kegs into japan which is why Jin is a little confused as to why those barrels can blow up when ignited. Tsushima was the first invasion, the 2nd invasion went bad when the mongolians were caught in a storm in the ocean when they were going after mainland japan.
