INTERSTELLAR MEDLEY - Hans Zimmer (Bass, Electric Cello, Loop Pedals)

- There’s so many things I loved about this film. Time is a big theme throughout and a lot of the music is at 60 beats per minute (referencing seconds in a minute). The spaceship, Endurance, also has 12 parts to it, like the hours of a clock. When I play percussion on the cello about halfway through this arrangement, I tried to mimic the sound of a clock ticking. The main OST tracks I used as inspiration were ‘Day One’ and ‘No Time for Caution’. And it was the below scene’s score that provided the most inspiration!

My dad would have loved this film. He worked as a scientist for NASA and loved the universe. He passed away, almost ten years ago now. Interstellar made me think about him, about time, about family, all the big things really. The composer, Hans Zimmer, captured so much emotion in the soundtrack - and in this arrangement, I hope I did as well. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy it!

For sure you did it, I love this adaptation as it keeps some of the things you said in the description like the "clock feeling". This film is my favorite film and it's nice to hear a refreshing version of the amazing OST it has!

One of my favourite films and you did justice to Zimmer's epic musical journey. The percussive ticking really ties the sections together and maintains that almost frantic and overwhelming tension that time and space evoke. Bravo, sir, and a beautiful tribute for your father as well.

Interstellar is one of the top movies of all time and this soundtrack is definitely a masterpiece by Hans Zimmer but you have done an incredible job with your own taste. Bravo! Maybe it means something we can't... yet understand. Maybe it's some evidence, some artifact of a higher dimension that we can't consciously perceive. I'm drawn across the universe to someone I haven't seen in a decade... Who I know is probably dead. Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can't understand it yet.
