- The movie is a socio-political drama based on the controversial policy of caste based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions. Deepak Kumar is at an interview for the teacher's post at an affluent school. The interviewers turn him down when they discover his low-caste roots. Deepak relates the incident to his mentor, Dr. Prabhakar Anand. Dr Anand, the legendary principal of renowned STM college, offers Deepak an interim job as a teacher at STM. Watch what happens when Deepak finds himself in some critical situations related to reservations.

The country is going to the dogs - in the name of diversity and inclusion everybody is just trying to snatch and eat up more and more of the pie and there's no stopping - nobody gives a rat's ass for the development or the well-being of the country and our true potential - unlike Russia or erstwhile America, Where people had some collective consciousness, all of the society, the country at large to win - Here in India, a bandarbaat is going on - everyone just clawing maximum (most importantly undeserved) portions for themselves.
No upliftment of the actual marginalized have happened and IT WILL NOT HAPPEN unless we change the dynamics of this reservation policy - we have no such parallel anywhere in the world ; the closest would be affirmative action for blacks and afro americans but that doesn't go so far as this reservation fiefdom goes.
It simply is tool for votebank politics and keeping people poor and illiterate and victimize a major chunk of popln at the expense of villianizing another who doesn't really have to do anything with eachother's.
Alot more marginalized people around the globe (with way worse backgrounds and power dynamics if you see at it is in slaves and other bounties) pretty much climbed up the ladder on their own without the need of any reservation and rightly so, We can't make reparations of historic injustices in present times at the expense of our future generations.
There is a saying, the country is as strong as it lieutenants, and prefering people background over merit is pathetic and downright ugly. This is what keeps neo classism alive.
No wonder the most brilliant minds of the country are leaving for foreign lands where they face racism and other stigma but still able to carve a better life than wasting their best of talents here in this political gangland. (I don't support moving out or abandoning the country but I can still see the reason behind people who do so)
People who give up luxuries, comfortable lives and renowned success elsewhere in the world and give the country their all that too So selflessly, even they themselves don't expect nothing good in return are infact FUCKED over so badly for their sincerity and sense of patriotism.
Judiciary, Legislative, Executive - Everybody is downright corrupt, The hardworking people who give everything including their life and keep the country running are thrown to the wolves - penalised for their efforts and dedication while rioters and arsonists (in the garb of protestors and playing victim) eats up everybit of country's resources and opportunities being in bed with the vested foreign interests.
Breaks my heart but India is more and more inhabitable. The doom looms and nobody bats an eye least fucking care.

I don't know how this wonderful movie gets just 6.2 /10 in imdb ratting! Big B deserved the best actor award for his outstanding performance & Manoj Bajpayee, Tanvee Azmi, Deepika, Saif Ali Khan, Pratik was amazing & Hema Maliniji was cherry on the top. Bollywood should make this kinda movies more & more. I really loved it.

As a Pakistani I like Prakash Jha's movies a lot. Prakash's movies highlight the problems of common man and society in a real way. Because the soil of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh is the same and the problems and politics of the society here are also the same. Manoj and Amitabh did justice to their roles as usual in this movie. But Saif Ali Khan did not look good in his role. If Ajay Devgan was given this role instead of Saif, this role would have suited him more. Education has become a business in our society. Teachers are earning money from students day and night. Where did the poor child get millions of rupees for education? But fortunately, even in this age, there are some angelic teachers who are keeping the society alive. Love & Respect From Pakistan. 🙏❤

और दूसरा 85% आबादी को 49% reservations मिलता है जो सिर्फ और सिर्फ 1% government jobs मैं दिया जाता है

@@Tech_boomb It is still there. I think you are probably from an upper caste that's why you have not faced the attrocities due to it. Although I was also born and brought up in an upper caste family, I have seen this very closely. Many abuse words and slurs are made on their castes. And tell me honestly if you knew about this.
Do you know "Chapri" is a casteist slur? If yes, then great, you have some idea on casteism, but if not, then search about it on Google and you will get the meaning.
Moreover, when someone comes from a privilege part of society, we love in denial that there is no such thing as casteism, but for unprivilaged it is still there.
A personal question, would you marry your sisters in another caste (probably lower ones) even if they (lower caste family) are well educated? Most probably No, if you would agree, your family would be not. If we cannot accept intercaste marriages yet in our society, how can you smoothly and conviniently say that we should remove reservation?

One of those rare movies from Bollywood that are worth the time. Two humungous conundrums of contemporary education in India, reservation and over-commercialization, privatization and industrialization of education, were addressed in a fairly impressive way, along with casteism, inequality, and the need for affirmative action, breaking things down for the layman while not compromising too much with the social, political and structural nuances. Of course this is not a book on education and reservation so that we can except higher sophistication. There was indeed some dramatization in the second half that was not really relevant to the core message, but coming up with a better connection seems exceedingly difficult. Overall, warrants a positive review. One of those movies in which the sheer messaging needs to be prioritized over other parameters like roles and casting.
It's wonderful movie with great acting & @wesome story line with perfect direction and screenplay, just loved it, i really liked Saif sir's acting in this movie, he is just amazing & wht to tell about AB sir ,he is a legend , the movies with great message and wonderful story line makes audience sit till the end , this movie is now included in my favourite list , just wonderful, thanku prakash sir for making this movie, and thanku Indian cinema for making this masterpiece movie to us and Thanku shemaroo for uploading this movie
