I still use it, its held up pretty well. I haven’t been griddling as much but its nice to bust out when I need it. Hindsight, I wish the side trays folded down. I may mod it with some 3d printed hinges or something in the future to allow them to be folded down
Put it together by myself. From unpacking to assembly and cleaning up the packaging it took 2 hours. I haven't done the seasoning yet. Just assembled yesterday.
Half way through and you've probably saved a life with the soapy water bottle test on the propane. Always looking forward to your videos,. PS, your merch is banging 👌
Man, one thing I’ve learned is propane isn’t something to mess with when there’s a leak lol. Thanks on the merch. I have hats and am designing some shirts for Tee Spring so folks can order them directly online. Cheers!
Keep an eye on the cover. When rain or weather weighs down the cover it will stick to the grill oils and rip the inside of the cover. Lessons learned, I wrapped a couple 4x4 wood blocks, wrapped them in foil and used them as a way to keep the cover off the griddle.
I actually did end up buying a hard cover from Griddle Guard. I put the hard cover on and then the soft cover and it works very well. Your way sounds like a winner also. Cheers!
@@soniamacias1648 If you check out my amazon store link in the description, I have a link to the griddle guard there. Its not a perfect tight fit but it works very well still. Width-wise its perfect, it has a little slack from front to back but didn't bother me as it does what I need it to do. Cheers!
Do you have a link to the griddle guard you bought? Also, brand new to griddles so this is a beginner's question, but what kind of oil did you use to season?
I do have a link in my Amazon store link below. My Amazon store link is to many items I recommend that I have tried and have been very pleased with. Use canola. It’s a great seasoning oil and great for cooking as well.
It’s not a bad deal tbh. The cover that comes with it is just ok. I recommend a wood block dedicate to standing up in the middle of the griddle so that water doesn’t pool on the cover. But for the price, it carries its weight
@@wawmd yes, as the burners do not run all the way to the front of the griddle top itself. I use the front area as a warming spot when food is done. Works rather well!
@@TheBrewQ I bought some replacement tubes from WalMart ($4.99/burner), the flame holes extend a little further towards the front (almost 2 inches). Took a little time to adjust to the right flame. I will try out soon to see if it evens out the heat distribution.
Did you have any trouble with getting the griddle put together? I had two people helping and I am pretty sure I was given wrong bottom support legs(the ones under the shelf) the holes lined up on one end but would be opposite for the other !
Yeah, that was the one thing I hated. Putting it together is better accomplished with a helping hand. All my parts lined up fine tho. It’s easy to accidentally put the wrong parts together so maybe you may have gotten something mixed? Orrrrr maybe they gave you the wrong ends.
@@TheBrewQ I think they tack welded the corners on the support wrong to me they seem to need to be opposite we’re going to return it and get another one since they had multiple!
Oh wow! Awesome catch! Glad you were able to get it sorted. It’s fun to cook on it for sure. I’m converting mine to use natural gas soon and will be videoing the conversion. Cheers!
The top never got rust but that’s because I reseasoned it after every cook. All the steel griddles will rust no matter the brand. It’s key to keep a nice oil coat on them.
I know this is out of the topic of the video, but im curious if is that a pool or a jacuzzi in the background, if either how much did you pay for it all in all?
It’s a fiberglass pool. It was around 47k after all the concrete work, electrical, saltwater chlorination system, and add-on water features. Prices have gone up since my install due to the demand increase from Covid.
@@TheBrewQ please post some videos. I learned a lot about the basics of the akorn watching your videos! Perhaps cooking meats that aren't filets, ie. drumsticks, bone-in thighs, or skewered kebabs. I'm curious how well those would do in a griddle because the amount of grilling space you have is enormous compared to the Akorn
What’s wrong with yours? Mine will bow a little from high heat but it goes back to its original shape afterwards. To be honest, I think that part is the most expensive piece. Might not be worth the cost.
I have no idea as I’ve never owned one. Maybe someone can chime in on here that owns a blackstone. I’d say the blackstone, from observation, has burners that run the full length of the griddle space in comparison. Drains are in the back or front trough. I prefer the little drain hole in the front of this griddle more, honestly. I’ve heard folks tend to lose their food to the back drains and front drain troughs more on blackstone.
@@TheBrewQ I have a 28" Blackstone. It is good but not perfect and I have lost food down the back. It has full length burners but this might be better as you need to move cooked food to a cooler part of the griddle while the rest is cooking. I doubt either is hands down better than the other, just different advantages and disadvantages.
Not as portable as one would like in the sense that the side tables don’t fold down. It’s not too heavy as most of the weight is the actual removable griddle top itself.
This video really help me out with my New grill From Sam's club I got it on black friday for $180 Thank u again
Just bought mine today. Excited to use it. This video was definitely a help. I've used charcoal my whole life haha.

Shocked to hear the side shelves don't fold/collapse. Ended up being a dealbreaker for me, thanks for the insight!
Yeah, I’ve thought of modding them lol.
That is SO coo;! Can't wait to see you cook on this!
Thanks, Tink! I got all kinds of cool ideas coming up soon! Vids coming real soon. Cheers!
Just ordered mine from Sam's club on sale for 180. Can't wait for it to come it to start cooking on it!
Looks like a great griddle. I like the front grease trap.
Thanks, Bobbi! I’ve done a lot of cooking on it. Wanted to make sure I knew it before videoing any cooks. Cheers!

Great video sir. No electric starter???? Once you cut the gas on, it just lights turning the knob???
Striker on knob.
They have these on sale starting Feb 4th for $150. Seriously thinking about it. Thank you!

Saw that it was going on Sale Feb 4th and jumped on that. You can't buy a regular propane grill for that price. Excited for it to arrive.
SOLD OUT. boohoo
They’ll get more for sure
1st time using a propane tank? Seems pretty easy. Should I be nervous?
Nope lol. Just tighten on nice and snug and run with it!
To get the front seasoned just turn the grill 180 degrees and do the front just like you did before
Ahhhhhhh great idea! Lol. I think I will do that for sure. Awesome tip!

It’s been working great 👍🏻. I keep it seasoned and it has held up well.

What is your opinion after 2 years of you still have it?
It was a good griddle. I wish the side shelves had folded down. I sold it and went with a Halo 4B griddle. It cooked food fine, though.
@TheBrewQ I saw your halo video. Nice portable griddle for sure. Too speedy for me. Lol
Yeah, it’s not a cheap one lol.
Is the sound of gas loud on this?
Not at all
The oil drain must be in the corner to save space
It’s actually in the front center
