I know the pain of losing your home to fire. I share the previous owner's pain. Ours perished on Easter Sunday 2022 & again another fire broke out the following week & completely put our home in ashes. You really never expect something like that and being not insured because of financial constraints, just puts you down completely. You really thankful that no one got hurt, because a life is irreplaceable.

This house had so much potential. I'm so glad you chose it and made it spectacular. I'm American and renovations here are so different. Even the names for things are different even though we both speak English. I have a question about the security. This nice of a renovation in the states would only make sense in a nice area of town profit wise. However, adding a higher fence,and electric fencing there makes me wonder is this in a high crime neighborhood? It seems so extreme. In America, I've never seen electric fencing on a residential backyard. We use it for cattle farms and prisons. Haha.

But then, add labour costs. Huge!! Also their timber went through an issue while ours didn’t. Now we’re facing enormous steel price hikes. Interesting. To add a bit of feistiness - get Oz to weigh in 😉

Coming together nicely, what I'd wish for is more home automation, from smart front door locks, to WiFi light switches, to integrated smart speakers, and WiFi smart accent lights, automated outdoor modes for guests e.g when guests arrive, you say "ok Google, start guest mode" then it switches on the pool lights, tree lights, water fetchers etc. Also use scenes for different modes, I have one for bedtime. It closes the blinds, switches off the TV. Switches off all the lights, switches on the motion detection for ambient lights for night trips to the loo or kitchen , locks the external doors, plays the weather on bedroom speaker, then plays my sleep time playlist on Spotify, you could do a whole episode on this topic. Would love to see how you implement these to your project
The flip was great even though I do wish the fence the fence was plastered and painted. I can't wait for this next project (which I'll have to wait for months for😩) and hopefully it's the house next door
