    Thank you for the calm and comprehensible presentation. I will visit your channel more often, your style is a real blessing compared to the many other, over-excited RUclipsrs! Stay the way you are!

    What do you find is the maximum length of a board that it can accurately surface?

    • @theoriginalniallo
      @theoriginalniallo  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey mate thanks for the question, I have surfaced boards about 2.2-2.4m in length but I will admit it was not easy and wouldn’t want to do it very often at all without extra support. I normally comfortably surface boards about 1.5m in length without any extra support👌🏼

      With metal roller support you could comfortable flatten up to 3 meter wood you think?

    Nice review. How hard was it to get it onto your wheeled base. Thank you

      @@MrPaulRobbins99 hey mate, thanks for the comment. Was a bit sketchy as I did it myself. I lifted one side at a time shimming it with a block of wood each time until I had it raised high enough to just slide it on. I’m now in a new workshop and used an engine hoist the second time to get it onto the wheeled base with the help of my brother. Much safer😂👌🏼

      @@MrPaulRobbins99 this is a great machine for the money, since using it more seriously. Pretty much everyday for work I will say the blade change is a ballache (not too much of a problem if you’re not going to be doing a huge amount of work) and I would have really liked a readout for the thicknessing to make repeat thicknessing sessions where you’re trying to achieve the same thickness stock much easier👌🏼

      @oveywoodwork thanks for that, yes always the dread of prepping another piece to replicate a previous batch. Seems blade change on these spiral cutter block machines can be a faff.

    Ive seen many good reviews about this. But a few complains about the output plane table which is tilted a little compared to the input table? I think some people are veeeeery detailed about everything and this is an example you probernly wont even notice in your finished project? I guess they tested everything with a feeler gauge, but this machine should be just fine for the ambitieus diy people?
    At least better than something like the metabo 260 hc which is to much 'hobby' performing I guess

      @@Lex-hk4fn for the price it’s a good piece of kit in my opinion! I’ve not noticed anything being tilted but I’m sure the tables can but adjusted along with the knives to suit a tolerance you’re happy with. It’s been perfect for me and never seen any problems in any finished project.
      This machine is fine for more serious diy people and even small workshops like myself that don’t want to sink 3-4k into a machine but still want good results👌🏼

    After watching your video I am awaiting delivery of one of these planers could you let me know the exact length and width of the bottom of the machine so I can make a rolling base before it comes thanks

    • @theoriginalniallo
      @theoriginalniallo  9 месяцев назад

      Hey mate, just measured mine for you it’s 442mm x 563mm depending on the type of rolling base you’re making the machine does have bolt down brackets that come with the machine but the rolling base would need to be wider if you also wanted to bolt it down.👍🏼
