I started riding in 1959. Reading all the motorcycle magazines. To hear the three of you talk bikes still drills into my soul. It is an ethereal experience. We fly and lean and smell the oil. How I hope that we can ride more years. Ride right into heaven. Salvation. Richard
All 3 of these guys are my heros and examples of men who sought happiness and freedom and friendships instead of money and succeeded and I have read everything all 3 have written since the 70s keep up the good work guys and one day I'll see you on the road come on down to Missouri we got good food and lonely roads that go to nowhere
Love you guys, straight up, many years of pleasure reading your stuff, and now listening. My claims to fame, beat Canadian national intermediate champion my first time on a road race track, went on to beat 9 time Canadian champion, Steve Dick, and years later i beat Gary Nixon in La Carrera race, more recently broke land speed records at el Mirage... I blame you guys for making this shite way too much fun 😅😂 Total love from the heart, and all respect for you guys 👍🙏
Met Peter once at Chicago motorcycle show 1992 was a great treat I told him my favorite bikes the Ducati 900ss and sportster 1200 and he said for him as well A legend !
In the early 80's our middle school library gave away (dumped) the back issues of cycle world to the students. Was able to read years of Egan and Cameron. Admittedly Cameron's writings were tough to grasp, but I did learn about brake mean effective pressure. Reading Egan was a call to adventure. Good times.
WOW, I thought I was crazy for so many years. I have found kindred spirits in video. I also thought my motorcycles & my Alfa Romeo Spyder had individual spirits. LOL It took me a few months reading Road&Track & Cycleworld mags to realize Peter was writing for both mags.
I watch you guys every Wednesday, back in the 70s I bought a Cycle World mag in Bridgetown Barbados and always lusted over the bikes in your mag. This particular magazine had the story that Mr Egan wrote and must have been brought a million times since The three best things in life, what a memorable awesome piece, I kept it for years and yes a Triumph motorcycle is one of the three.
Cannot wait to get out of work and watch this!!!!!!! Read the first Leanings when I was 13 a year after getting my CW subscription!!! Grew up reading Egan and Cameron!! (Love for Mark too, excellent work on these pod casts!!!)
On a day when the overnight low was -7 and the vehicle of choice for my driveway would be a Zamboni, watching this is almost as good as taking a ride......almost.
Kevin you talking about your short racing career My engine builder and tuner was Woody Kyle he has a similar story He told me as a boy he would run between a1a and the beach to watch the bikes go by obviously when they still raced on the beach I love those stories By the way Woody is still tuning bikes
I can guarantee you most of these people are just being nice, this should have been in someone's small collection, maybe first thing vintage Motocross,, vintage road racing,, vintage choppers,? Most of the bikes are behind you 😔 and one by one each is rolled in front of you
The problem with motorcycles, is they are designed by racers. Sorry, but racers are not one of us. I want a bike to last more than (just barely) a single race. I am tired of all motorcycles coming with a flat seat, so a racer can slide his butt half off the seat. Corbin makes long-distance, touring seats. Corbin seats are curved both front to back and left to right. They "cup" your entire fanny, not just the two "sit" bones. If cornering "properly" on the street, you let the bike roll under your fanny, the "curve" really helps. Perhaps, once a person has had a track day, their license should be stamped, "Track Only." (FTR ChampSchool covers this topic, and hopefully the students will not practice what they have learned, and will not turn a local curvy road into their personal race track.)
Each of you contributed so much to my enjoyment of motorcycling. Thank you so much.

We’ve got the Trifecta!!
Can’t wait to listen!

They have seen much and are so refreshingly genteel. This is the only podcast I watch/listen to.
Education is important, but motorcycle racing is importanter.
Fantastic stuff...great to see and hear from Peter Egan having followed his writings in Road & Track as well as Cycle World. Thanks guys.
Delightful conversation, enlightening, thanks so much.

Tremendous insight, kudos to all three 🎉
Road trip interviews should be a staple!
Hope to see you at the next Slimy Crud Run, Peter.

Unpacking after a move I had to read "East by Westfield" again when putting it away.

When are you going to have Dave Edwards on the podcast
Kevin has a degree in physics from Harvard. Couple that with his probing mind makes him my favorite ICE tech writer regardless of milieu.

looks cold, not LA
