The Beatles - Yellow Submarine (Happy Birthday,

Well, here's a song I never thought I'd cover on the channel. Thanks to ‪@davidmontis7259‬ for the suggestion!
This well-known Beatles classic from their 1966 album "Revolver" was an instant smash when it was released as a double A-sided single alongside "Eleanor Rigby". It was so popular, in fact, that it was released on three different albums during the band's career, and several compilations following the break-up. It even became the title song to their 1968 animated film, which this cover is to mark the 55th Anniversary of the film this month. It was sung by Ringo Starr, who turns 83 today. Killing two birds with one stone, if you like.
Guitar is my trusty Manuel & Patterson (www.abitaguitar.com) OOO-14 run into a Boss AD10 acoustic guitar preamp and out through an older Fender Acoustasonic 30 DSP. Pretty simple setup and simple chords. Don't know why Angela Petrilli doesn't teach this one in her famous "Riff Rundown" series...
My next round of videos will feature me going back and redoing some of my earlier covers, now that I have a better PA system and superior gear to what I had when I started doing covers on the channel.
And, as the end of the video suggests, I'm going on vacation next week. To say I've needed it after all I've been through in the past year is an understatement!
This will be the first of many videos where I'm playing solo while ‪@sampopkin‬ takes a hiatus from collaborations on the channel due to his impending wedding in three months. But don't you all worry, he, David and ‪@mendips09‬ will return!
