Drainage doesn't have to be hideous. It can be functional AND beautiful. It doesn't take an expert either. You can pull this project off on your own, and far cheaper than if you hired someone to do it for you. We'll show you how to turn a problem into an opportunity for an eye-catching pop of awesome in one afternoon. We use a combination of small boulders and Tennessee River Rock to stop unwanted erosion on a hill in our side yard. - Хобби
100% yes!
Our family does everything in our house that needs to get done. It just hurts us to pay for something we can do. 😄
I’m not gonna lie. Sometimes I wish we would pay someone else to do it but at the end of the day the feeling of accomplishment is so good.
Ha hahaha, oh how TRUE..Do the Dang work Yourself..Sweat Equity...That’s what it’s called.. My Hubby and I have done it for Years...Still Doing it...Thank You for this video..
Yes! I say the same thing to my kids about the gym memberships. My grown kids pay for gym memberships. I am 57 years old with back and knee problems. I have told them that they could come help me in my yard and I wouldn't even charge them for a membership. LOL. They do help me a lot. I have offered this same deal to my neighbors that have gym memberships. They haven't taken me up on it though. ;-)
This is how I stay in shape-do it myself. Fortunately, I am on silt and gorgeous river rock. I just have to dig and rinse dirt where I need it, rock where I need it. I really do need some nice boulders-I can't do those. Darn! Looks good!!!
Bravo Sir for doing your own dang work...hard work.
Agreed the yard is the best gym
thumbs up ,even if only for your comments about the gym memberships! Lol
That is a pretty cool boulder!
Preach Chad😂! That’s so awesome! Great job and I know Polly did most of work 😉😂! Looks wonderful 🥰!
🤣😳 yes, he just stood around looking pretty! 🤣

What a deal on that Crimson Queen!
Could you imagine throwing that tree in a dumpster??
Beautiful.
Great job! and most importantly good save on the Japanese Maple tree!!! Very expensive tree!
Your yard is beautiful!
Thank you!
Guy looks like Terry Bradshaw's twin!
Haha, I'll take that!
Very nice looking but I would opt for 2 layers of road fabric instead.
Amen my friend on the gym. Lol
Hey guys! We hope y'all enjoy this project, and while it IS labor intensive, it's worthwhile and conceptually simple.
Labor intensive because it's humid outside 😳🤣
Please keep uploading videos
We will!
7:50 Sounds like my wife every time she helps with my projects lol
Good job. I would have loved to see you move that rock into place, but I think I can imagine why you would not have wanted others see you do it. Like you said, it was a struggle. Out of necessity I've moved rocks like that by myself. There is nothing easy about it.
I meant to record more of it, but the rock and the heat became the focus, lol. A rock dolly would have helped tremendously.
Looks great but that plastic might last 2 years max.
Through my experience I do not use clear white plastic anymore because of the UV’s. Black plastic if you want to use plastic ,will not be affected or UV rays
That's definitely some hard work!
Did you ever consider working with your neighbor to install a rain garden? You're not allowing the water to percolate back into your ground. Of course this depends on your soil type. I think a tiered rain garden would have been beautiful and functional. I feel like you just made a complicated and expensive gutter essentially. You could have buried the type and tied it right into your drain. I feel like the water is going to gain a lot of speed and overshoot your drain.
So, how's it been working?
Working great! My wife took some video during a heavy rain the other day. Ill post it once I get a video made.
Video posted now
Why would you put plastic around that poor maple tree...or anywhere in your garden? No no no.
