Its my first fighting game and after playing through the arcade stories for all the characters I landed on Juri. I started in rookie ranks and am losing a strong majority of my games, but the feeling of improvement is really satisfying.
yeah being able to notice little areas of improvement is really important. Things that worked on you a week ago might not anymore, and that is significant
Don't feel bad, I think there are a lot of strong players from 5 who's ability is carrying over. I've played fighting games for nearly 35 years, having played many Street Fighters and I was struggling hard through Silver and now Gold is just as bad. Just keep grinding and you'll get there.
Cammy players are making me feel this right now. Playing against one using either control scheme makes me wish my Dad never showed me MK and Tekken as a kid
@@flowchartk3n yeah same, when it comes to modern I really only get mad when it's obvious they otherwise know how to play SF but they are using Modern controls anyways. That makes me feel like they are either trolling or have bad execution (same boat) but are taking the "easy" way out.
From a long time fighting game player here's what I can tell you works way more often than it doesn't against these kinds of players. Do *something* to get a life lead and then just block. If you have the patience, eventually they will have to stop spamming you in order to actually do damage. Once you disrupt their pattern, a lot of the time they don't even know what to do. Also, moves coming from full screen, you can just parry but that doesn't negate what I said above.
new to fighting games, the only one I've really played before is dragon ball fighterz. have only played luke so far and have gotten his 2nd outfit and his specials are really entertaining to watch. the only one of these i've encountered so far is the honda torpedo. literally only bought cause the guy on the cover has forearms bigger than his head
@@flowchartk3n I'm only a Bronze 5 Juri but in sfv i'm a super gold Balrog. Just had a set against a Gold 1 Blanka and beat him 3-2, I say he's Di is herder than Blanka ball, it looks like a Blanka ball lol Manons giving me trouble atm lol
I only mad is when i losing and i want to keep fighting because i want to try new solutions to see how i can leave or counter the situation but my opponents leave the game 😢😢 😂😂😂
Its really fun fiddling with the roster and starting to really understand who you want to play- I've been gravitating towards Lily because the wind stocks are so fun. I havent encountered one of these lads with the infinitely high skill ceiling but I'm excited to use that fullcircle command grab of hers on these absolute goofballs
@@flowchartk3n 😆ouch, going that well huh? Tell you what I've seen some really tight Ken gameplay since release but there's no denying the non-beta characters are already cooking. In an alternate reality where I have hardware that can actually run SF6 I'm struggling to play JP because that's easily the coolest character Capcom's ever given us.
Ken, buddy, you gotta stop doing this. I get that I'm handsome and wise beyond words, but you gotta choose your own character. I feel like you're just copying me.
I was trying to figure out how the hell he pulled gief CA from neutral and then I realised that was modern control. LOL Yesterday I fought a deejay spamming a mix of feint and drive impact and it was annoying af.
I finally settled on maining Ryu. People that spam like this teach me quite well. Actually they feel like the CPU enemies in world tour aha. I know hadoken beats headbutt. But EX headbutt goes thru the projectile & EX shoryu loses bc EX headbutt has armour. You have to counter, drive impact or jump over it. I had a similar experience with a player that played kimberly and cammy. They spammed specials into grab/divekick mixup but i quickly learned i could just anti-air with a shoryu every time on reaction. 🎉 Everything has a solution
you just gotta practice and not let it kill you we all learn at a different pace for me sf has never been the vibe. dont meld with the characters. part of learning is struggling i had to practice to learn to play gutair and study fighting games are simular. i played alot of these games but i usally just stick with what i enjoy playerbase is small oh well. i learn through countless hours of labbing and playing to figure out the soultions somthing like blanka ball id figure out in match quick bc i just learn from past experiences. plus its a wildy different world from the game we have been playing. just gotta step back and relize you wont get everything in a day.
Yeah I think for me it's a matter of shifting mindset. I need to be more in a learning mindset than a competing mindset and it's going to be that way for some time
@@flowchartk3n thats hard when your so used to competeing in dnf. for me i just have no time to learn a new game atm. ive been learning juri though pretty okish. also sf6 and dnf are worlds apart in how they play and thats somthing to keep in mind. its always improtant to evalute what your doing right and wrong been doing it for months now. even writing a long ass dk doc. its draining but its how i learn labbing labbing and more labbing. that might not be the way for everyone tbh as long as you aint down on youll be fine. i already know it
Me losing to jumping Ryu's as Zangief when I know I shouldn't be.
Me losing to any jumping tbh
As a Jumping Ryu. Same

Yeah I've been trying perfect parry as well. I think I will get the timing
I’ve been using Cammy. I’m trash at the game but it’s super fun slowing getting better.
Good luck! Cammy looks super fun but I have never gotten the hang of rushdown characters
Playing Guile and absolutely loving it
🦅🦅🦅
I don’t fear many things, but that… *gestures toward modern gief* that scares me
Modern gief is a menace and HIS IRON BODY IS INVINCIBLE

@@flowchartk3n indeed, no spinach needed for this sailor.
I am a Honda main. So this is like Im being called out
*sumo headbutts sadly

Parry! You either get a perfect parry and a punish combo or normal parry and you don't lose drive😎
I have recently been parrying these, its hard but manon gets a cmd throw on it so its definitely a good punish

I’m feeling some type of way I play Marisa lol

Can’t wait to mash spd for the next five years

Ooh…that blanka might be me.
Ok not entirely but I love all his movement, he’s just a shithead character and he’s perfect for me.
I respect the rolls 🙏
I'm maining Juri, it's my first time playing a Street Fighter game so it's been quite rough, but i'm trying
Juri looks so cool but very hard to play
Surely that Manon choice is the counterpick for opponents who're already playing Ken Masters 🧠😏
my manon doesnt counter anyone right now 🙃

nice, ryu looks cool in this game. I like the way they included a lot of people's v mechanics as other moves in 6
Hahaha there is more spam to Blanka than just the ball, there is the jump ball and the slide, I found the slide is the most OP
