    30lb whiplash, tapered mono leader tied with Albright knot jobs a gooden. Reason for mono leader is to take the impact when the spomb hits the clip, same on marker rod, you still feel everything but stops crack offs.
    If you still do then its todo with your casting and its catching on a eye or its the feathering and you're closing the reel hope this helps.

    I use Berkeley 50lb straight braid for my spod rod, saves this not happening. Great watch mate

      Get your self a wychwood dispatch spod reel 750 size with braid . Costs £45 I’ve had mine for four years and never had a crack off.

    50lb spider braid is what I use on my spot and marker rods

      Yeah I did have 50lb straight through in before I changed. Moved onto 35lb braid with a 50lb leader. Thanks.

    If you're not a big caster, don't bother with shock leaders and all that jazz. Just use 30lb plus spod braid straight through

    • @jvacarpyadventures7045
      @jvacarpyadventures7045  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah replaced it with Gardener 35lb spod braid 🤞

      @jvacarpyadventures7045 ye mate that's what I use straight through, upto 80/90yards it'll be fine... only when having to really whack it out there do you need a shockleader

      @@jvacarpyadventures7045 I dont understand how you can crack off that many times in 1 session, personally never had an issue with that braid

    Upgrade to 40 or 50lb braid that’s your problem

    • @jvacarpyadventures7045
      @jvacarpyadventures7045  6 месяцев назад

      I've upgraded to 35lb with a 50lb leader but I totally agree with you. I had 50lb braid straight through before and never had a single problem, no wind knots and no crack offs

      @@jvacarpyadventures7045 I never use a shock leader as I don’t see the need if you’re using strong enough Braid
