I remember when our medium boat was filled with many treasures and we were returning from a skeleton fortress heading to a nearby outpost. Then, out of nowhere a kraken popped out and we were unprepared. So I brought all of the treasure to the row boat while the others fought the tentacles. Eventually, we ran out of cannon balls and retreated to the row boat. Our captain told us (We had three people all together) the directions of the nearest outpost and let the row boat go. He distracted the Kraken while we rowed away and the other person who escaped with me would protect the row boat from getting attacked by the tentacles. Once we were out of the inky waters, we both played this music while looking at the sinking ship. We heard his last cries and the ship went below the waters, never to be seen again.
Damn, that was a nice story. It’d be sick if you got a part 2 of you and your friend that escaped finding a new crew, and find the kraken and fight it on a galleon with your new crew for revenge.

It makes me sad to see so much negativity surrounding this game. Yes Microsoft lost the so called console war this generation but they are still my team. My wife and I play this game together every night since it came out. We do treasure hunts and chase beautiful sunsets. The game is not perfect by any means but it is an enjoyable experience that I won’t soon forget. Thanks for reading
I agree. I'm a 26 years old now - who was used to Rareware back in the days they worked on with Nintendo for Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong. And I really thought they died already. But this....is really an enjoyful experiences, which remember me of my childhood. Not perfect games - but a game with detail, atmosphere and heart. I'm still a Nintendo/Playstation/PC Gamer - but this game is really a beauty.
My friends don't like this game, but my brother and I. Whenever we have time we play this game. Chasing our dreams, with the sails full. Catches your breath every time I see the waves lush of blue. Thanks for sharing the love for this game.
I was only playing the damn tutorial when I pulled out this crazy instrument I had never seen in my life before and chose a shanty to play at random. I pulled RT and this song started playing. I walked up to the edge of the beach then looked out to the horizon, the sky full of beautiful clouds dyed purple by the sunset, and sat and listened to this song. I literally thought to myself "damn I've only been playing this game for hardly 5 minutes yet and I'm already having an unforgettable moment".
My family has this bookmarked for when the day comes I bite the dust. Hopefully I’m old when that time comes and I’ve got to watch my son grow old as well. Truly my favorite piece of music from any game.
"I sang her name across the sea With hopes that she might hear And while I sail on ocean breeze My heart will pine for thee I know your love can find me. Long as I breathe I’ll sing your name across the sea Til your love returns to me If the current should steal me Should her waves decide to claim me It’s your name, my love, i’ll sing Cos your love is all that I'll need Til the sea brings you back to me And if Jones came to take me Should the ocean rise to break me It’s your name, my love I'll sing (Your love) til the sea brings you back to me. (Your love) til the sea brings you back to me (Your love) til the sea brings you back to me" All credits go to Darling Harbor and Ben Uytiepo For making these beautiful lyrics you're looking at right here, The game might not have a big player base anymore like release, but the community it has an sure as hell stick together and the love the community shares for this song even if they don't play the game anymore goes to show that small things like this simple sea shanty can bring people together. Music and community can be truly beautiful things.
God the goosebumps and tears are real, and I don’t know why... something about this kind of music is just so lovely. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, this song makes me imagine some pirate movie, right after an epic/happy moment, the entire crew is back on the ship celebrating, the camera pans over the ship, pirates clinking their jugs of rum together, and then it pans further away from them, like one continuous shot, the sunset is on the horizon, and they’re sailing in that direction, and it just fades to black, and then credits roll. Man, I love this song. It’s so beautiful. Something about pirate games, when they’re done right, they’re amazing & having a wonderful soundtrack is an added bonus entirely.
We had a chicken that sailed with us for 8 + hours and we lost him on our last voyage. We played this on the dock on an outpost in remembrance of that chicken. Needless to say a 21 guns salute followed the song
*man overboard getting eaten by sharks* captain! he sounds like he's in pain! well that's why i'm playing ye funeral song *screams off in the distance as becalmed plays*
Sometimes I roll with open crew galleon and come across some of the coolest people. It always turns into epic adventures full of laughter and excitement. This game has brought me more joy than any other game I’ve ever played probably because of the players I meet on the seas. I’m always the last one to leave the game after the rest of my beloved crew signs off into the world for god knows how long. All I know is that whenever they return, I’ll always be ready for an epic adventure on the seas. Boys, it’s been a great honour sailing with you tonight. Good luck wherever you are.
This game needs more attention. Currently in my land our mainstream RUclipsr releases in Game footage with 3 others. As soon as I heard the song I was like: "No way... the beauty!"
Same bruh AND I WANT IT BE LIKE VIKINGS You know the funeral when vikings put a viking who died and cover them with cloth and put their hat on their covered body send it off on a boat and let the family shoot fire arrows snd set it on fire. I want it to be like that with this music playing.
I've listened to 10 of these in a row, and each time I hear a different version of it, it still evokes the same emotion. Vocals or not. And I think that is beautiful.
To my crew mate of old with whom I have since parted, I will forever cherish our voyages. The two man crew of the Vulture's Melody will sail forever across the sea of my emotional heart.
I loved playing this song whenever it was a chill evening with my friends. It always makes my heart warm. When the dawn comes and I depart from my friends, this is what I hear. I can always hear the voices of my crew as we traveled across the sea in search of loot. Even when the journey ends. Truly a 10/10 song.
@@dovahkiin-rx1ij hey how about this. they had the same experience 😲 I know it's hard for you to understand this but let me dumb it down for you. Not everything is copied
I want you, to close your eyes, and imagine sailing across a big blue ocean. The sun is beaming down but you and your pall keep moving forward. Hear the splashing of the waves and the gentle cool breeze blowing through your hair. Just sit back and be calmed. Enjoy
Will always remember the last day at my childhood house it was getting late and was about to get off Sea of thieves and I stopped and was thinking this will be the last time I will play video games in this house.... I got out my instrument on sea of thieves and played this with random crew mates felt surreal it was so perfect thank you sea of thieves I will forever remember that moment.
I snuck this song into my wedding playlist, on a beach on Koh Samui, in Thailand, as the sunset. 14 guests and the love of my life. Pirate style! And we are Irish, so the pasty white skin really adds to the pirate vibes 😂
Such a beautiful tune... from a beautiful game. Makes me want to cry when I am sailing in calm waters and I gaze off into the distance to find my next adventure, and all is well. Thank you, sea of thieves, for being an amazing game down to the core.
Dude first session I had, our ship had battle scars and we were all tired so we decided to make it go out with honor, so we scuttled and played this as it went down and logged off accordingly. Emotional man.
I remember in the last beta before the game came out, minutes before it ended we all banded together in an armada every single person in the server and sailed into the red sea side by side playing this song.... and with the sun setting the servers shutting down in 30 seconds all 18 of us after our ships sank, swam close to each other and formed a circle in the water and stared at each other playing this song....and to top it the game faded to black slowly as the servers were shut down....it was absolutely beautiful.
I stopped playing this game on my old account so when I got back into it, my brother had been playing on that account and I wanted him to start from scratch, so I told him to delete my pirate I had put hours of dedication and fun into, plus my parrot who'd been with me forever. When he deleted him all I could think of was this song and the memories. This game is far from perfect but I will never forget the joy it's brought me. I actually started to tear up a bit when I heard it again after almost a year. I had met all my best friends on this game. The fights, the treasure, the kraken, fighting the megladon for the first time. Playing with my cousin for hours on end. Worth it
That actually broke my heart ngl. All the fun memories, all the laughs, joy, anger from being looted and sunk, music. Can't hell but miss those times. Beautifully written man. o7
with my friend we played this song when the skeletons sank our little sloop, the saddest thing was that in front of us there was a cloud shaped like a ship. this game is very special
The power behind this song for a game that wasn’t even need but they did this and created something words could never describe or show. Thank you for the song that made me know what a good game truly is.
Shame galleons and sailing ships of wood in general is a thing of the past. I consider myself lucky to have seen one at sea myself.. as a ship grazing the horizon, heaving up on a wave with all sails set, white and pure, it's such a majestic and pure thing. Seeing it dissapear in the horizon was so beautiful i could shed a tear. Just imagining thr last time someone stepped off deck of one of these for the last time ended an era, when clean, pure sails stepped aside for big hulking cold soulless steel ships.. to me wood ships had character, they were like a living thing, creaking, twisting and bending and sailing it was a chore, but back then men were men and dealt with it... Today they just sit in a comfy seat pushing buttons and twisting knobs.. i feel like i have rambled on for long enough, but i think we can all agree it was a great era in human history, ofc i inferior in many ways they would actually better for the environment... I wish i had thr opportunity to sail aboard one of the great ships of the 1700's..
It feels a little silly to say this about a video game song, but this song is gorgeous. It brings so many beautiful memories, and in all honesty, I want this to be played at my wedding.
August 25th, the last day of summer 2019, right before the start of our senior year in high school. it was 11pm at night, me and my best friend playing this in the sunset as we sank our self in the crow's nest of our brigantine. We swore that the year to come would not only be the greatest, but to be something to really remember. At the same time saying goodbye to the last year of true magical experiences that we'd be looking back at when we're on our deathbed. I never thought a game could make memories.
Already some of the best gaming moments with my friends I've ever had. And this song always brings them to mind. People have really misunderstood this game. It's magic is what it facilitates between good friends. Already helped me patch up a rather damaged friendship. Couldn't be happier with it. Fighting tears right now lol
I remember when we were making our final outpost stop of the night after a stressful and hard session of quests with another crew. My crewmate left, and the people on the other ship seemed let down about it, so after everything was said and done I led them all to the docks. I wanted to end off the day with something funny. Someone started playing this song and I started typing out a speech from the back of the sloop: "and so the sun sets on today's adventure, and we look to the horizon in the east for the next" "i did not know my crewmate well" One of the sloopers said, "He was a good man." The other said, "A true inspiration to us all. "but if there was one way i know he wanted us to go out, it'd be this" I picked up the gunpowder barrel we'd been saving for another sloop that was chasing us and ignited it below deck before dashing into the water. We all watched it drift off and sink slowly while playing this song. It was the best thing I've ever done in Sea of Thieves.
I love playing this song when I sail alone, but the sad tone always brings a tear to my eye, because after being so violently gentle my whole life, it’s a liberating, yet bittersweet feeling to be calmed.
Son: "Dad, why us my sister named Rose?" Dad: "Because your mom really likes roses." Son: "Okay, thanks Dad." Dad: "No problem, Sea of Thieves - Becalmed."
I have nostalgia of this because I played sea of thieves since it first came out and this song has been there for me ever since wants to make a man cry
Myself and two of my brothers played this on top of a cliff on a small island as the final beta closed. It seemed like the only proper way to send off our Beta characters.

This is the best theme yet
It's like a really good old movie's ending, a funeral, or some inspiring speech or some Scottish theme
That's because it's the song Amazing Grace and it's customary to play at funerals in Scot/Irish families.

We all smiled not knowing. I’d be our last tune. And tho it’s bitter sweet to remember. I find myself smiling still at it.
I miss you boys.

LordKai1102 I’m glad you can look at it from that perspective and still enjoy it for what it is
John Fazio Together with Friends...is always enjoyable. :) Happy sailing my friend!
John Fazio amen
My friends don't like this game, but my brother and I. Whenever we have time we play this game. Chasing our dreams, with the sails full. Catches your breath every time I see the waves lush of blue. Thanks for sharing the love for this game.
*Wipes tears*
Aye, this music... it’s so powerful
Arrrg the feels!
Aye, that be true matey. Betwixt ther melodies and such, my heart be ever wanderin'...
Me and my brother raided a solo player and he had 8 chests, so I shot him in the face, stole all of them and then sunk his ship
Nick Z ikr 😂
Aarg, too true, me hearty. It be a mournful an' longin' tune that'll be in ye crew's minds for years ta come
Arr me mates this song brings a tear to my ol' pirate's eye. Drink up ye jolly lads, fo' the sun may never rise til we set sail fo' home again!
No idea me fellow ol' pirate, i'd like to know myself!
Who else uses a pirates voice to read this
It's called becalmed, that's the name of the song
X Y The song was composed for the game and its called Becalmed

I was only playing the damn tutorial when I pulled out this crazy instrument I had never seen in my life before and chose a shanty to play at random. I pulled RT and this song started playing. I walked up to the edge of the beach then looked out to the horizon, the sky full of beautiful clouds dyed purple by the sunset, and sat and listened to this song. I literally thought to myself "damn I've only been playing this game for hardly 5 minutes yet and I'm already having an unforgettable moment".
Gives the same chills as Amazing Grace on the bagpipes.
noooooway, i have the same feelings...:')
This song legit just pulled me out of an anxiety attack. It's in my favorites now.
My family has this bookmarked for when the day comes I bite the dust. Hopefully I’m old when that time comes and I’ve got to watch my son grow old as well. Truly my favorite piece of music from any game.
"I sang her name across the sea
With hopes that she might hear
And while I sail on ocean breeze
My heart will pine for thee
I know your love can find me.
Long as I breathe
I’ll sing your name across the sea
Til your love returns to me
If the current should steal me
Should her waves decide to claim me
It’s your name, my love, i’ll sing
Cos your love is all that I'll need
Til the sea brings you back to me
And if Jones came to take me
Should the ocean rise to break me
It’s your name, my love I'll sing
(Your love) til the sea brings you back to me.
(Your love) til the sea brings you back to me
(Your love) til the sea brings you back to me"
All credits go to Darling Harbor and Ben Uytiepo For making these beautiful lyrics you're looking at right here, The game might not have a big player base anymore like release, but the community it has an sure as hell stick together and the love the community shares for this song even if they don't play the game anymore goes to show that small things like this simple sea shanty can bring people together. Music and community can be truly beautiful things.
That brings a tear to my eye.
Same.
Damn...
That was deep...
Something about pirate games, when they’re done right, they’re amazing & having a wonderful soundtrack is an added bonus entirely.
i agree 100%
Celtic sorrow
Why does this song always hit me so hard in the feels
soul
Even the Kraken can break down in tears with this beautiful song.
We had a chicken that sailed with us for 8 + hours and we lost him on our last voyage. We played this on the dock on an outpost in remembrance of that chicken. Needless to say a 21 guns salute followed the song
I shot that chicken in his dome and ate him
Pirates are coming..
I love that you get this by searching "Pepehands snail"

*screams off in the distance as becalmed plays*
I cant even begin to tell you how many times I've listened to this! May the wind forever be in your sails.
0:12 its always that drop that makes me happy and well calm we have all had so many amazing memories with this game and the people we have met
As soon as I heard the song I was like: "No way... the beauty!"
darf ich raten gronkh?
ich glaube eher es ist HerrBergmann.
Gronkh ist nicht mainstream genug :3
This is the perfect "Going down with the ship" music. I play it every time my ship is sinking, even in the middle of combat.
I want this played at my funeral q.q
same 😭
Robert, reminds me of Kingsman version of Country Roads. Both beautiful.
I was thinking the same 😢😢
Same bruh AND I WANT IT BE LIKE VIKINGS
You know the funeral when vikings put a viking who died and cover them with cloth and put their hat on their covered body send it off on a boat and let the family shoot fire arrows snd set it on fire. I want it to be like that with this music playing.
same laddy
Gentlemen, it's been a privilege playing with you tonight.
It's Tetris That hit me in the feels when I remembered the reference.
You just copied this matey.
@@dovahkiin-rx1ij hey how about this. they had the same experience 😲 I know it's hard for you to understand this but let me dumb it down for you. Not everything is copied
@@CaptainRedbeard89 chill out matey
I want you, to close your eyes, and imagine sailing across a big blue ocean. The sun is beaming down but you and your pall keep moving forward. Hear the splashing of the waves and the gentle cool breeze blowing through your hair. Just sit back and be calmed. Enjoy
Will always remember the last day at my childhood house it was getting late and was about to get off Sea of thieves and I stopped and was thinking this will be the last time I will play video games in this house.... I got out my instrument on sea of thieves and played this with random crew mates felt surreal it was so perfect thank you sea of thieves I will forever remember that moment.
love this song. brings back so many memories.
I not crying! Its just hot, im sweating from my eyeballs.
It’s not about the gold or the flashy outfits or the pirate legend.....it’s about the adventure......

A bond forged over a few hours, yet a bond you'll remember for years.
I snuck this song into my wedding playlist, on a beach on Koh Samui, in Thailand, as the sunset. 14 guests and the love of my life. Pirate style!
And we are Irish, so the pasty white skin really adds to the pirate vibes 😂
Rest in Peace to the fallen pirates, may their souls rest in peace at the bottom of Davy Jones's Locker for all of eternity
ah a nice quiet night on the seas

This music is just so beautiful it brings tear to your eyes
Such a beautiful tune... from a beautiful game. Makes me want to cry when I am sailing in calm waters and I gaze off into the distance to find my next adventure, and all is well. Thank you, sea of thieves, for being an amazing game down to the core.
Dude first session I had, our ship had battle scars and we were all tired so we decided to make it go out with honor, so we scuttled and played this as it went down and logged off accordingly. Emotional man.
I've just read glitterbeards story and it's been a long time since i've cried.. Rip glitterbeard...
That sounds like a awesome way to go out.
Beautifully written man. o7
I always play this when the sun rises/sets, brings a tear to my eye every time
I still can’t get over how beautiful this is it’s bean an honestly an amazing ride with all of you I’ll see you all in the next life
with my friend we played this song when the skeletons sank our little sloop, the saddest thing was that in front of us there was a cloud shaped like a ship. this game is very special
Snail never left the brig, a true hero to the bitter drowning end, never abandoning his post...
This is so calming ^.^
I wish it goes on forever!
The power behind this song for a game that wasn’t even need but they did this and created something words could never describe or show. Thank you for the song that made me know what a good game truly is.
Beautiful game and soundtrack

Let's play some music!
All together now!
I love this shanty!
This is one of those songs that make you put your hand to your heart
snail pepehands
Already some of the best gaming moments with my friends I've ever had. And this song always brings them to mind. People have really misunderstood this game. It's magic is what it facilitates between good friends. Already helped me patch up a rather damaged friendship. Couldn't be happier with it. Fighting tears right now lol
I'll never forget about you Snail PepeHands

2 years without him Sadge
Dont know why but it always makes me tear up
I remember when we were making our final outpost stop of the night after a stressful and hard session of quests with another crew. My crewmate left, and the people on the other ship seemed let down about it, so after everything was said and done I led them all to the docks. I wanted to end off the day with something funny.
Someone started playing this song and I started typing out a speech from the back of the sloop:
"and so the sun sets on today's adventure, and we look to the horizon in the east for the next"
"i did not know my crewmate well"
One of the sloopers said, "He was a good man." The other said, "A true inspiration to us all.
"but if there was one way i know he wanted us to go out, it'd be this"
I picked up the gunpowder barrel we'd been saving for another sloop that was chasing us and ignited it below deck before dashing into the water. We all watched it drift off and sink slowly while playing this song. It was the best thing I've ever done in Sea of Thieves.
I remember this being the first song that started playing when my crew was getting off for the night, it put a really good ending to the long day
When I hear this music it reminds me of my special pillow. It does take me on peaceful dreams 😌
Nothing beats standing on the deck with my crew, playing this song while watching the sun set. Absolutely Beautiful.
This is what you play when you go down wit your sinking ship
Been listening to this daily how calming and soothing
Snail PepeHands
I love playing this song when I sail alone, but the sad tone always brings a tear to my eye, because after being so violently gentle my whole life, it’s a liberating, yet bittersweet feeling to be calmed.
Son: "Dad, why us my sister named Rose?"
Dad: "Because your mom really likes roses."
Son: "Okay, thanks Dad."
Dad: "No problem, Sea of Thieves - Becalmed."
This really made me chuckle, thank you 😂
I have nostalgia of this because I played sea of thieves since it first came out and this song has been there for me ever since wants to make a man cry
Myself and two of my brothers played this on top of a cliff on a small island as the final beta closed. It seemed like the only proper way to send off our Beta characters.
That's really nice.
Watching our burning ship sail into the sunset while playing this... Was a good memory.
(I forgot I left a banana on the stove)
