I remember joining a random on his Sloop, we played for hours, we never actually spoke, just used the limited in game chat. When we handed in our loot for the dozen or so time we went back to the ship, but I noticed, he was just standing on the pier. I waited for him to board...he never did. He said "Thanks" and a "Goodbye" then he waved the ship (His ship) Goodbye and I raised the anchor and slowly left port. We just looked at eachother while we both played this tune and waving. Just befour we where out of sight of eachother he bid his final farewell and wave as I looked through the spy glass. Then...he was gone, forever. Not a single word exchange and it was one of the best gaming moments of my life.
Its 2021. My group and I have played this game since the day it launched. But as all good things must come to an end, so too, did our adventures. As our Hurdy Gurdy player passed away of stage 4 cancer... we played Sea of Thieves one more time on new years at midnight going into 2021. We decked out our ship with his favorite colors, we set fire to the sails, watched as it sank into the ocean near the coast with the sunset behind it, and we played this song one last time. Rest easy, you salty dog... I love you, brother.
Move to a coast for the rest of your life, have your bottle of ashes sail away on a little boat with this playing. That actually sounds nice to me now that i think about it
I remember one of my mates was always playing this game with me and he was very fun and enthusiastic But one day he got rushed to hospital with no warning and sadly passed so one day me and my other mates for tribute we went on sot and did a big grind to get the kraken boat paint (He always used that one) then we sailed to an outpost and got off the boat we all played this song as we scuttled the ship as we watched it go we were saying the memories from the games we had. Although nobody new him IRL he still gave us one of the best gaming experiences ever thank you🙏🙏
I was just playing earlier. The message came across screen that server shutdown was in 10 minutes. We hurried to cash in on out hard earned loot and we took back to sea. Four random we were and as if perfect timing came, we sailed out into open water as the sun began to set. We all stood at the bow and pasted this song together as a quartet. We voted to scuttle the ship and as she went down we played this song while the sun dipped below the horizon and the screen faded to black as the server shut down. It was one of the most beautiful moments I've ever had playing a game and it's what makes this game worth every penny to me. This song will bring back lifelong memories of adventures I've had with people around the world. I shed a tear and I'm not shy to say it. Live long sea of thieves!
Lyrics for the song. Kind of helps set the tone It’s time again To sail far away To shores where no man has dared With tears, and fears, we leave our homes And hope the seas’ be calmed We will sail then, together Each, side by side. And if, the wind, Be in our sails Our journey will carry on. But if the tides turn against us, And all hope is shattered What then, will become of us? If we will lose our faith Then everything we care Will slowly fade away And we’ll never see our dearest Unless we will find a way
My friends, a random and I sailed into the crimson waters while playing this song as it started to turn night time and our boat started to sink and we started to drown. It was the most majestic and beautiful thing I've ever heard, done and seen during all my time of playing videogames. This song is my new anthem.
Ah, ye be true sailors! Went down with ye ship, the lot a ya. Farewell Sea of Thieves! Gone, but by forgotten. Cheers. (Proceeds to drink grog whilst crying into the cup)
My friends and I were able to get to an outpost with a huge central stone pillar and cannon our way to the top and we played this song while the sun was setting. Most beautiful site and sound I've ever heard and seen and will probably never see anything like it.
I just remember me playing with my friends in the new update. We just fished for hours, getting fish to cook and eat during our skeleton fort raid. And suddenly fished a skeleton of a fish, We laughed at how funny that was and decided to bring it with it us during our skeleton fort raid. We kept it in the captains quarters Once we defeated the captain we had the key, but I volunteered to bring the fish skeleton from the captains quarters. And held it while the doors opened, full of loot. We collected it all and brought the fish corpse back onboard. We went to a outpost and turned in all our loot. And even brought the fish bones into the tavern while we drank. For some reason we had a strange companionship from this inanimate object, but we wanted it to stay with us, since it was stuck drifting in the water. We started a order of souls voyage and put the fish in the captains chair. Once we we’re done with all of the places we needed to go too we came across a enemy ship, we did not care much since we had some pretty below average skulls but still fought in honor. We both shot our cannons and both ships sunk in the predicament. One of my friends had his rowboat that he had docked still so he scavenged around, killing any other enemy’s in the water. In the water strangely all that remained was a chest with 3 villainous skulls (Probably from the enemy) and the fish bones. I told him to grab both and he rowed back to a outpost, with a hefty 3 skulls aswell. Once we sold the loot all we had left was the fish carcass. We had a growing happiness knowing that our inanimate companion survived. But, our adventure would soon come to a close, we were going to get off and decided to say farewell to the fish carcass in our most honorable way. We put the fish bones on a rowboat and collected items from the island, putting them into the rowboat storage. As goods for the fish. Once we were ready we played this song as we undocked the rowboat from our new ship. And let it drift away, all saying something nice for good spirits for the fish We played this song until we could not see the rowboat anymore All this just for a silly moment that turned into something emotional. This game really gets you sometimes
UPDATE: Edit: 1 year ago we played together, I sent a message to each crewmate I played with after not talking for a year and they all responded, we are playing once more and I have now become a pirate legend in front of their eyes. Everyone should give this game another chance! Please do not rush to pirate legend, people say it is not worth it because they rushed to get it. It was worth if for me from all the adventures I’ve experienced, laughs I had, and friends I had created during my 3 years of playing this game to get there, don’t think of it as a reward, but as a destination. Once you have gotten to the destination by forging your own adventures you will truly be proud of where you are now. ShamanAlchemist.. signing off..
oh so that's who I found on my travels, I was wondering who would leave a fish skeleton behind in a rowboat, let me tell you, he was a great companion, I brought him onboard and could tell he was cared for if he was in a rowboat, so I placed him to the side of the compass and had one more adventure with him, we fought a kraken, and another ship, at the same time, we won that battle, and left for the outpost, where I saw another crew, I gave them the carcass, and told them to be carefull with him, I'm not sure if it was the same fish carcass or not, but it was in a rowboat drifting along the shores of plenty, I just hope he is still getting passed along from crew to crew,
You can jus see in the comments how many memories for people that This beautiful song is bringing up to be told including tales of my own.. it’s amazing how much impact a simple song can have on a community.
I was in a galleon with 3 randoms and I started playing this and a pirate joined in with the other instrument. We sat there and played for a while, the other pirates stood by the campfire drinking grog on a lone island. The music ended and one of my new pirate brothers after a pause typed *wipes tears* ....it was beautiful
5 Minutes before server shut down. I Hoisted the Anchor, and sailed towards the raising sun. More people joined. I let them know of the server shutting down...we all stood together as the ship continued to sail onward...this was the song i was playing...the screen faded to black...and this song was still heard...
It's sad to have this game seen to the public as "boring" or "bland". Breaks my heart. But this is definitely a song that gives me good memories of sailing across the Sea of Thieves with my closest friends, and because of that, the tears start to flow down my face. So, I raise my grog to the amazing effort that was put into every detail of this game and to everything that's to come.
Aye, Pinkacrash, lad! Drink up, for we sail into uncharted waters and this may be our last chance for a rest, among these cruel places. Drink up, for hope, for life.
My mom told me that sea of thieves is boring and a waste of time and I always get so hurt and get mad at her cause sea of thives is not just a pirate game it means somthing sea of thieves to me is a world of peace I will play sea of thives till I'm on my death bed
This song perfectly mirrors the awe and beauty I felt while sailing the seas in the Navy... Takes me back to watching the waters in the Pacific amidst the pale glow of the full moon overhead. Fair winds and following seas my friends.
A toast of rum to ye seaward lads. May the wind be ever at yer back, the sun high overhead, and the horizon forever yours. To the freedom of the open sea, drink up me hearties.
Rae Ishimura Aye, a drink to the rules we set, and to home, where no king or his rules govern us. A drink to the vast seas waiting to be sailed. A drink to our family aboard. A drink to the black flag. A drink to freedom.
Aye, lads. May yer sails be ever taught with the song of the skies, and yer grog never run dry. We may not live to see our glory fulfilled, but a journey nonetheless we will take. I'll see ye mateys on the fine blue waters.
Dude, this song made me tear up not just because of how beautiful it is, but because of what it stands for. It stands for the idea that this game is what ALL multiplayer games should be. It shouldn't be about increasing your KD or getting ridiculously overpowered weapons or spending real cash on microtransactions, or even worse, DLC tacked onto an unfinished game. It should be about having a damn good time with your friends, connecting with new people (I did so frequently during the beta and STILL play games with some of those people to this day) and making your own unique stories out of your journeys and your perspective in this beautifully crafted world and experience. To think I wasn't gonna buy it either. The second I played the beta, my jaw hung open for about an hour and a half. This game is fucking gorgeous.
I play this song when I'm sinking, on top of the crow nest. Most of the time, the bad guys just stop attacking, stand there and watch, wondering why they even attacked a harmless sloop passing near them in the first place.
This is one of my actual favorite songs now, and if more instruments can start playing it in the final build, this song alone is worth $60 so I can play it while sailing across the ocean.
Music has a special place in the hearts and souls of us humans, it has the ability to effortlessly express all the things we feel as we walk this Earth, wondering the great questions of our species. Are we alone? What if any is our purpose here? What dose it mean to be truly Alive? I implore all of you that next time you get the chance, play this song irl while watching a sunset over the ocean, or staring up at the star filled sky next to a crackling fire. On a walk through a quiet wood, or on a hill overlooking a vast city scape of lights. Just sit, close your eyes and breath drink in this moment, alow yourselves to truly be and exsist. To feel alive and Be Calmed, your soul will thank you for it.
I remember when me and my 3 friends fought a battle at the cannon cove against 4 other players. It was a long lasting sea battle and i dont know how often we died, but there was one time when i was killed, 2 of them were killed too (lucky hit). While we were waiting for the gate of the dead ship to open and rejoin our ships to die again, we decided to talk a little bit and didnt notice the gate to open. at some time of the conversation one of them started playing this song and we joined him in. we were playing at least for 5 minutes until one of my mates asked where the f*ck i am. We ended the song and made a non-agression-treaty, rejoined and stopped firing at each other, sailed to the shore of the cannon cove island, hunted the treasure together and played music together and discussed a little bit about the game. When it got to "who will take the treasure home now?"-question they immediatly fired at us, stole the chest and another on our ship, shot a few rounds into it and sailed away. Well, in the end nice pirates are still pirates but it was totally worth it to trade chests worth 2k-3k gold for this epic scene. 10/10 Would be stabbed in the back again.
I came to study. Can't read with tears in my eyes. The depth to which each of our lives go and the lives that we have all built together is truly one worth sharing a beer over. The many men and women that have lived and died to get us, even you reading this, where we are... makes me so infinity grateful that I find myself sitting here in this chair unable to do anything else but close my eyes, breathe, and appreciate the blood of our ancestors. 02/18/2020 -David
Yesterday, as I was sailing towards one of the northern islands, I noticed another sloop chasing me. I anchored my ship and prepared for combat, he got close enough, shot himself from his cannon and missed my sloop (he didnt anchor his ship so it sailed right past me, he asked if i needed any help, i said no, he then asked if he could launch himself to his ship using my cannon, which i let him, so i switched to my hurdy gurdy and started to play to signal i wasnt going to attack him. Instead of launching himself, he aimed his blunderbuss at me, attacked me, but i had already known this was coming, and had my blunderbuss ready to be swapped to. Killed him, and watched as his ship sunk as it sailed further and further into the red sea. Took out my hurdy gurdy again and this played. It was a perfect ending to my day
My 4 year old loves this tune so much, he asks me to play it before bed. His wee eyes slowly close as he drifts off and I sit there with eyes watering... Beautiful tune.
I first played Sea of Thieves with 3 of my best friends. We played back in the original Halo days, up to gears of war. After almost 5 years, we played games with each other once again in this very world of SoT. We set sail, learned the game. Did the Beta level voyages back in the early days. Returning to Golden Sands Outpost after a long day that felt like a few short hours, with our ship tattered and broken. No fancy paint, sails or figurehead. The sun set low over the Shores of the outpost, we played this song together. My friend Cody said, "Well boys, It's been a pleasure. Let's do it again sometime." This was the last time I played with them. I reluctantly remember the same moment 5 years prior, before we had families. Before mortgages and careers. Never knowing, it might be our last game together. Though, the crews have changed. The updates roll out and content enhances. Nothing will ever change that simple, serene moment. A poem of true friendship, written with the ink of memories, and sealed with a final moment to this very song. I dont know if it will be the last time i play with them, as we're all in our 30s now. But if it is, I'll be satisfied. I cannot think of a better memory to be my last.
This song brings me back to a time when some friends and I play this game for hours and had loads of fun, but then they switched form Xbox to ps4, ohh the long nights of adventuring and exploring,I guess everything has to come to a end... Let thee adventure seek on. Farwell old crew.
Majority of these comments are from two years ago, It really comes to show how these peaceful times will come and go with the wind and sea...but one things for sure...we won’t forget the adventures that those waves took us on...
Today i embarqued on a ship with 3 strangers and tough i was just another random they accepted me in their crew and i manned the bar while we captured chickens, searched for treasures and fought other players who wanted our loot but we kept the old gal afloat and just before saying goodbye we scuttled the ship and started playing this as she went under. I never enjoyed a pvp game this much before, so from a newly crowned quartermaster: answer the sea's call you will not be disapointed
Best part is, they datamined references to more instruments in the final game, from the beta code. So there might be a few more layers to this song at release.
i remember when i first heard about the game, i was so excited to play with my friends, and this is literally all we would play and admire how beautiful the seas were. about a year later now, and those friends have gone and so many things have changed, yet this song still hits home
My friends are leaving for University, so these are the last few times i will be able to play with them. All 3 of us would head onto a ship and just sail out on a voyage, and every time we'd play this song together. Ill never forget these past few weeks ive been able to play this game with them, and every time i hear this song ill remember looking out to sea as we'd play the song. All of us happy to be with one another for the last few times, i wonder if ill hear this song in couple of years and remember all those times we shared together on this beautiful game. I hope you all will be able to have and share the same experiences with your best friends too
I played this song when I got out of the army in 2019. The moment I got my papers I cried and laughed at the same time. When my final day came where I checked out and left the gates for the last time, I played this song and man… 8 years felt so short yet so long. All the friends I made along the way, the friends I lost. Happiness and sadness struck. The happiest and saddest day of my life. Everytime I hear this song, it’s like I’m in my truck looking in my rear view mirror and seeing that base getting smaller until I couldn’t see it anymore. I told my family that when I die to play this song when they spread my ashes. I have now associated this song with goodbyes.
"You got the makings of greatness in you, but you gotta take the helm and chart your own course! Stick to it, no matter the squalls! And when the time comes, you'll get the chance to really test the cut of your sails and show what you're made of! And... well, I hope I'm there, catching some of the light coming off you that day..."
ah.. how I wish humanity had more room, more space, more freedom, more questionmarks. I love this song, and it reminds me of how I want to live. And I guess, reading the comments, I'm not the only one.
Al Ash If only I could say the same. I’m only 14 and I might be getting surgery tomorrow for appendicitis if I have it. It could be my last day. If it is, I just hope I left a good impression and changed some people hearts.
Papaya Messiah Im wishing you all the best and will say a prayer for you today! everything is fine my dear friend. you will be okay and will be laughing again shortly. today is your day and i will celebrate you.
my pirate post battle speech to go along with this song. "Today, we are saddened by the loss of men. Good men who died for a cause. That cause may have been with ill intentions, but none the less, the world will be deprived of what they could have offered. I can not keep myself from wondering what they could have done for the world if they had changed their hearts. We must also remember our own who have fallen this day. we must prepare their loved ones for the news of this battle and their passing. may their soles rest in peace... in Davy Jones Locker." Captain Jackson Griffin.
Always remember that grinning, shining man who made this all possible. Some say he was the humblest of pirates, and yet his legend is the one that all pirates should know. This is the song played for him, to be calmed as the Ferryman takes him home. Be calmed, James Glitterbeard White. May the wind ever be in your sails.
This song sums up Sea of Thieves for me. A good friend of mine urged me to try it, and we've become even better friends by sailing across the seas together. Many laughs, many sinking ships and lost loot, but really it's not about the gold or the loot or the skins or the ship hulls. It's about the bond. And until that bond is broken, We Shall Sail Together
I remember randomly finding this game on the shelves of my local gamestop after my dad said I could go get a new game for my xbox back in 2019. Thought the skull logo was cool and wanted to try it. Needless to say I fell in love with the game. I remember my first voyage. My family all sitting around the TV laughing as I slowly struggled my way through learning how to steer the ship, and how we all joked about the island names being weird. I remember the hilarious panic between me and my sister as I was chased down by another ship for the first time and got brutally defeated. I remember the first friends I made too, nice people. Met them all when the Arena was in its final days and we are all sitting in the lobby around that hot tub thing, laughing and sharing stories. Now 4 years later, I moved to PC and I'm proud to say that I'm teaching my old irl friends how to play the game that brought me those beautiful family memories.
I remember in the beta I sailed with 3 randoms we all got together at in the ship and all together played this song at sunset 🌅 I will never forget that moment cause this song led me to 3 new friends
THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS GAME!!!! It brings players together like never before seen in a video game. It's not about the KD or the overpowered weapons. It's about the player, and the community, and bringing people together for a damn good time. Fucking HELL I love this game.
The game really does need more content, but the memories and gameplay it has given me so far were well worth the money. The most beautiful game I've ever played, not just graphically. Truly a masterpiece of what gaming should be. Let's hope they keep adding to the base game!
I've been playing this game for awhile now. It's been one of my most favorite games to play with friends and mainly alone. I see myself coming to this track and playing it when I'm alone in a sloop. The calming waves and the peaceful slowness that this song possess has always warmed me. As of writing this, I have been stood up by a girl I trusted and genuinely thought she was the one - yet here I am; playing Sea of Thieves and holding back tears in a game that make me feel whole. Thank you Rare. ♥
Hit level 10 in Athena's a few days ago and with this playing in the Athena's Fortune with the lighting and the sounds of the waterfalls splashing into the water below, and my best friend who's been playing this game with me since launch, I couldn't help but fight back tears as I reached the end of my journey. Of course there's still more to come, but what a fantastic way to end year one of Sea of Thieves. No game has given me the amount of pride in my journey nor the emotions that this game has. I love it and will continue to love it for years to come.
Here’s a story Me and my very close friend on Xbox, Richard told me to get this game. I got it and was amazed. Everything about it is beautiful. Me and him played for 9 hours straight through. Laughing, being terrified of the ocean, and looting. This song brings me to tears about the memories. The good old times. 😪
Ahhh this song brings memories. Me and my crew went around the whole server in out Galliont, searching for others to join our journey. Anyway we ended up with 12 people on board and sailed into the red sea, and played this song as our ship slowly sank to the bottom of the sea. I'll never forget that day.
I love this song. I can remember when my pubg squad they were telling me and bugging me to download sea and I was hesitant at first ya know 10 more dollars a month. so I finally bought the game pass and I played with my squad. I don't know if anyone else had the same experience as I did learning the ways of the ship and the crew but it was so breath taking just to hear everyone in harmony as we ran around the boat sailing our boat. I was so happy I played this song at the bow and I looked at the sea and feel in love instantly. I then turned around and seen my friends while I played this song and I swear I got goosebumps maybe even dropped a tear... it wasn't long that their free 14 day membership ran out and I lost 3 good men and now I sail alone. Skipper.. Sailor.. Captain.. alone..
I wish I lived in a time where the world was still more of a mystery. Less technology, less politics...More about venturing and being out in the world. This song, this game....makes the young kid in me dream forever......
Our ship, she dreams of wind in her sails, Of wind in her sails unfurled. And Shining as we cross the sea, We cross the sea for home. Then we'll all raise our voices, A song in our hearts. And set our eyes on distant shores With wind in her sails again. There'll be cheering and calling. No more squabbling and brawling When we have the wind in our sails. When we have our feet on the ground. We'll sow our good fortune around. There'll be feasting and pleasure. No more rationing and measure. When we have the wind in our sails.
My friend and I in a little sloop decided to take on a skeleton fort. We fought it for about an hour before another crew showed up and started to fire at us. Soon there were 3 other large ships ship fighting over this skeleton fort. My friend and I fought and died and kept coming back because if we weren't getting this fort no one was. The server message showed up that it was shutting down in 30mins so we fought till then and at the end it was just us, on one of the towers playing this song as the server faded to black. Best moment
We plays this tune in memory of the sea of thieves beta!! It was here once and now it lies at the bottom of the ocean whence in came, me lads. Farewell me lads. Farewell. (Raises glass, as a single tear falls)
It’s amazing how many story’s are remembered and told by listening to this shanty, I hope everybody here brings more story’s to tell and eventually make creativity of it by writing a book or making art. The tunes brings peace to everyone.
My grandpa played both concertina and hurdy gurdy so this song resonates with me even more... I own both instruments now and I'm looking forward to learning this song on them
Now I don't play sea of thieves anymore but God damn listening to this song again is just......I was in a car with my family playing this song again and I began to feel tears in my eyes, my adventures in sea of thieves can be utter trash due to players who don't know anything and it can also be beautiful with some of the greatest people I have ever met My earlier days in sea of thieves were amazing, whenever someone were to leave or were to have a ship sunk this shanty would be our go to I fucking love this song so much
"Gentlemen, a ferocious journey it was, afterall. Wish ya lads the best to yer lives, live on! Be what you dreamed of being! Explore the world and don't stop following your dreams!!!" -Unknown pirate captain
This game is like Minecraft for me. I can always just play by myself, leaving all worries behind. I'll listen to this song or Sweden by c418 and just chill. These 2 songs just hit me right in the feels Everytime, always bringing back memories of the good ole days, back when I had no bills to pay, no job to work...back when i had all the time in the world. Minecraft recently became popular again and I can only hope that 10 years from now, the same will happen for sea of thieves, and if it doesn't, at least I'll still be playing it.
This video got my sub, it's just so calming I legit went outside and just sat there at like 9:30pm staring at the night sky just none stop listening to it for like 2 hours.
The song of joy and the memories of my friends and friendships I made in the beta of the game the feeling of achievement and accomplishment of finding chests with them but 7 men on a ship and this song on the Red Sea was the most beautiful thing ever in the game
This shanty is reminding me of the times that i had as a young we lad. moments of love and laughter with some of my friends and family and some of them have moved on or passed away. times i wish can relive again but can't. Time only goes forward never back. Remember of those times that make you who you are.
No joke, I love this song. I was playing the beta and messing around and I started playing songs. I unexpectedly listened to the whole thing probably twice. I was just sailing around, solo, just chillin' and this song came on. Just watched as the waves went by, listening to the music and the creaking of the boat, the waves and splashing. Really set a mood that stuck with me and to this day it's still one of my favorite things to do.
While you may be away skunku439 and i voyaging the seas, I always remember our times we shared the seas and buccaneered our way across the map, grinding for loot and making coins. Gone but not forgotten
I remember sailing to the sunset and playing this song when a random joins me and says "this is a song of a man who's thrown out to sea most people call it a sad song but to me this song is happy"me having no mic looks at him and puts wipes tears
This RUclipsr deserves a shitload of more subs, this video just gets right to your heart and emotions its crazy how one video can make you see thinges so differently. Just blows me away.
This remindes me of when i found a snake basket with a snake inside i played this so he wouldnt bite me soon after my ship got sunk by another players ship and i was unable to save the snake R.I.P snake
I play this on the front of my boat all the time looking out at the vast ocean. Being a solo slooper can be one of the most fun but loneliest adventures. I don't know how to find gamer tags very well on steam so I stopped trying, one day I'll find my Gallion of friends. Happy Seas out there Pirates!
Time for my story I was playing with my friend earlier today and we were doing the wild rose tall tale (thankfully just started) and fought and killed a megalodon, while we were celebrating (not even 10 seconds later btw) with this song we heard a skeleton ship coming from the water and as we fought it the water turned black as the Kraken appeared. We fought until we knew the ship couldn’t be saved so as the ship went down into the depths of the waves, we played this song to say “we lost this round but we’ll never lose the war!” To the big ol bitch of a kraken Edit: fucking killed the bitch whoo time to drink some gro- oh you have got to be kidding me *pirates of the Caribbean theme song* YOU WANT ROUND TWO HUH? WELL BRING IT ON FUCKER!
Have you ever felt that longing? To see the roads that few others travel. To put new dirt on your boots. To hear new bird songs. To smell how what the forest changes. To know that your life is in your hands and that you're going to be alright. To be able to always walk away from troubles. ... My feet ache, friend. They ache for new trails. I've been keeping them on the same old ground for so long...
God the goosebumps and tears are real, and I don’t know why... something about this kind of music is just so lovely. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, this song makes me imagine some pirate movie, right after an epic/happy moment, the entire crew is back on the ship celebrating, the camera pans over the ship, pirates clinking their jugs of rum together, and then it pans further away from them, like one continuous shot, the sunset is on the horizon, and they’re sailing in that direction, and it just fades to black, and then credits roll. Man, I love this song. It’s so beautiful. Something about pirate games, when they’re done right, they’re amazing & having a wonderful soundtrack is an added bonus entirely.
*waves of tears* That was the must nerdiest shit ever. It made me cry.
Bruh lowkey thats why I love this game.
Now that, my friends, is beautiful. Song truly is food for the soul
Maybe one day you'll meet that person, you just won't know it.
That hit me in the heart

Thank you so much for sharing, may he rest easy, wherever that may be. God bless ya scaly wag. See you on the open seas, or not.
fuck dude, hes playing sot 2 up above
Rest in peace. Thank you for sharing friend.
This story broke my heart. Thanks for sharing.

If you dont play this at your ships demise youre playing the game wrong

Every time, then we do a ritual every time we’re done for the night, where uhhh, firebombs a blazin’

It's sad but has a hint of hope and moving forward.

Move to a coast for the rest of your life, have your bottle of ashes sail away on a little boat with this playing. That actually sounds nice to me now that i think about it
YerBoiBread Studios yeah
Life Is like a boat, it starts small but grows bigger and sails better, soon.. an iceberg will hit your ship and it sinks...
it’s 4:37 am, i’m laying in my bed, listening to this, reading all of the comments, the stories, through tears. truly a heartfelt moment for me.
I’m in the same exact position bro, all these comments are making me remember all the nice memories I’ve had with old friends
I am also doing the same drowning in a pool of tears remembering memories of adventures with great people on the sea of thieves
Although nobody new him IRL he still gave us one of the best gaming experiences ever thank you🙏🙏
Beautiful tribute, makes me tear.
how did u know he passed tho

A story to make anyone tear up
I was just playing earlier.
Fantastic
Yes! This!
I'm fucking crying
Lyrics for the song. Kind of helps set the tone
It’s time again
To sail far away
To shores where no man has dared
With tears, and fears, we leave our homes
And hope the seas’ be calmed
We will sail then, together
Each, side by side.
And if, the wind,
Be in our sails
Our journey will carry on.
But if the tides turn against us,
And all hope is shattered
What then, will become of us?
If we will lose our faith
Then everything we care
Will slowly fade away
And we’ll never see our dearest
Unless we will find a way
This is under appreciated
Brought a tear to me eye... Yaaargh..
love you
This feels like something The Navy should sing
I feel like all the lyric versions of this have different lyrics, where did you find these?
My friends, a random and I sailed into the crimson waters while playing this song as it started to turn night time and our boat started to sink and we started to drown. It was the most majestic and beautiful thing I've ever heard, done and seen during all my time of playing videogames. This song is my new anthem.
Ah, ye be true sailors! Went down with ye ship, the lot a ya.
Farewell Sea of Thieves!
Gone, but by forgotten.
Cheers.
(Proceeds to drink grog whilst crying into the cup)
Inmate 87 bless ye
My friends and I were able to get to an outpost with a huge central stone pillar and cannon our way to the top and we played this song while the sun was setting. Most beautiful site and sound I've ever heard and seen and will probably never see anything like it.
Drag0n Blade49 so you were basically the band in the Titanic
I fell asleep to this last night
I just remember me playing with my friends in the new update. We just fished for hours, getting fish to cook and eat during our skeleton fort raid. And suddenly fished a skeleton of a fish, We laughed at how funny that was and decided to bring it with it us during our skeleton fort raid. We kept it in the captains quarters
Once we defeated the captain we had the key, but I volunteered to bring the fish skeleton from the captains quarters.
And let it drift away, all saying something nice for good spirits for the fish
We played this song until we could not see the rowboat anymore
All this just for a silly moment that turned into something emotional. This game really gets you sometimes
Clementine i never thought a fish would make me feel emotion
The commitment
Rowboats used to drift away O.o ?
oh so that's who I found on my travels, I was wondering who would leave a fish skeleton behind in a rowboat, let me tell you, he was a great companion, I brought him onboard and could tell he was cared for if he was in a rowboat, so I placed him to the side of the compass and had one more adventure with him, we fought a kraken, and another ship, at the same time, we won that battle, and left for the outpost, where I saw another crew, I gave them the carcass, and told them to be carefull with him, I'm not sure if it was the same fish carcass or not, but it was in a rowboat drifting along the shores of plenty, I just hope he is still getting passed along from crew to crew,
You can jus see in the comments how many memories for people that This beautiful song is bringing up to be told including tales of my own.. it’s amazing how much impact a simple song can have on a community.
That’s why I love slow and emotional songs like this. It brings out the best in us

I was in a galleon with 3 randoms and I started playing this and a pirate joined in with the other instrument. We sat there and played for a while, the other pirates stood by the campfire drinking grog on a lone island. The music ended and one of my new pirate brothers after a pause typed *wipes tears*

I don't play this game anymore ( i only got it on red box ) but man that game was fun. I can't wait to see how it develops in the future.

Aye! down ye grog n up with ye sails. the sea be calling our names. may davey Jones leave ye alone
Here here!
Rae Ishimura as the pirates of old we drink and looking to find treasures in this life and share it with our friends along the way
This song makes me so chill, it's unreal - and to think i wasn't going to play Sea of Thieves
Same dude
I only play it for this song lol
Oh wow ! Well said !!! :O
Sea of thieves takes me right back to donkey Kong
I play this song when I'm sinking, on top of the crow nest.
Most of the time, the bad guys just stop attacking, stand there and watch, wondering why they even attacked a harmless sloop passing near them in the first place.

Did anyone apologize while you were sinking?
The many men and women that have lived and died to get us, even you reading this, where we are... makes me so infinity grateful that I find myself sitting here in this chair unable to do anything else but close my eyes, breathe, and appreciate the blood of our ancestors.

yea this was my favorite of all the songs from the beta, sailing into the night with my friend playing this, Ill never forget it
Yesterday, as I was sailing towards one of the northern islands, I noticed another sloop chasing me. It was a perfect ending to my day
Beautiful
What a jerk. Well played!
My 4 year old loves this tune so much, he asks me to play it before bed. His wee eyes slowly close as he drifts off and I sit there with eyes watering... Beautiful tune.
Have you played sea of thieves

a true pirate
I first played Sea of Thieves with 3 of my best friends. We played back in the original Halo days, up to gears of war. After almost 5 years, we played games with each other once again in this very world of SoT.
We set sail, learned the game. Did the Beta level voyages back in the early days.
Returning to Golden Sands Outpost after a long day that felt like a few short hours, with our ship tattered and broken. No fancy paint, sails or figurehead. The sun set low over the Shores of the outpost, we played this song together. My friend Cody said, "Well boys, It's been a pleasure. Let's do it again sometime."
This was the last time I played with them.
You took the time and effort to do this, thank you
I hope we meet at sea, my good friend
Can’t tell you how many times my son (and I) have fallen asleep to this! Most appreciated!
This song brings me back to a time when some friends and I play this game for hours and had loads of fun, but then they switched form Xbox to ps4, ohh the long nights of adventuring and exploring,I guess everything has to come to a end...
Let thee adventure seek on.
Farwell old crew.
One time I sunk a galleon, and the whole squad played this together. As they sunk, they just stared at me playing this. What a way to go down.
Majority of these comments are from two years ago, It really comes to show how these peaceful times will come and go with the wind and sea...but one things for sure...we won’t forget the adventures that those waves took us on...
I can totally picture this being played with a bagpipe.
Imagine the chills it would give.
I have heard a version of this on bagpipes, it brought me to floods of tears 😭😭😭😭
From the very depths of my Seaward soul, Thank you for putting this together.
Thats so beautiful. i feel you
This game isn’t about being the best pirate, it’s about the friends you made and lost along the way.
There is poeple who thinks being a pirate is doing PK
Best part is, they datamined references to more instruments in the final game, from the beta code. So there might be a few more layers to this song at release.
Scottoest that would be nice, and there is more space in the “more” section.
Hurdy-Gurdy for the win
I hope we get a Banjo ......... ;-)
.. and a kazooie ;-)
An oboe would sound beautiful
i remember when i first heard about the game, i was so excited to play with my friends, and this is literally all we would play and admire how beautiful the seas were. about a year later now, and those friends have gone and so many things have changed, yet this song still hits home
I hope you all will be able to have and share the same experiences with your best friends too
Wait now I want to know how their doing now lmao
This game has probably the best soundtracks in a game I have ever heard, Especially this song.
If it is, I just hope I left a good impression and changed some people hearts.

my pirate post battle speech to go along with this song. "Today, we are saddened by the loss of men. Good men who died for a cause. That cause may have been with ill intentions, but none the less, the world will be deprived of what they could have offered. I can not keep myself from wondering what they could have done for the world if they had changed their hearts. We must also remember our own who have fallen this day. we must prepare their loved ones for the news of this battle and their passing. may their soles rest in peace... in Davy Jones Locker." Always remember that grinning, shining man who made this all possible.
And until that bond is broken,
We Shall Sail Together
Fucking HELL I love this game.
too bad everyone is angry because it has so little content, they dont think about moments like these are worth 60 dollars :(
The game really does need more content, but the memories and gameplay it has given me so far were well worth the money. The most beautiful game I've ever played, not just graphically. Truly a masterpiece of what gaming should be. Let's hope they keep adding to the base game!
thank you
I've been playing this game for awhile now.
Seriously one of my absolute favorite pieces of video game music I've ever heard! Thank you!!
When the final days of sea of thieves are here I’ll be playing this before it closes down servers
Last time Assassins's Creed IV made me listen to looped soundtracks.
Rafinho32 In a world without gold we could've been heros .. Ahh i miss black flag

Here’s a story
Me and my very close friend on Xbox, Richard told me to get this game.

Skipper.. Sailor.. Captain.. alone..
One of the only melodies that can make you sad and happy at the same time.
I just added lyrics to this song on my channel 😂 Becalmed is amazing and thank you for putting up this video!!
I wish I lived in a time where the world was still more of a mystery. Less technology, less politics...More about venturing and being out in the world. This song, this game....makes the young kid in me dream forever......
Our ship, she dreams of wind in her sails,
Of wind in her sails unfurled.
And Shining as we cross the sea,
We cross the sea for home.
Then we'll all raise our voices,
A song in our hearts.
And set our eyes on distant shores
With wind in her sails again.
There'll be cheering and calling.
No more squabbling and brawling
When we have the wind in our sails.
Best moment
This game and it’s music feels me with an emotion I can’t explain, this is truly one of the best games I have ever played, we shall sail together!
We plays this tune in memory of the sea of thieves beta!! It was here once and now it lies at the bottom of the ocean whence in came, me lads.
Farewell me lads. Farewell.

My grandpa played both concertina and hurdy gurdy so this song resonates with me even more... I own both instruments now and I'm looking forward to learning this song on them
Did you ever learn it?
Trying to listen to this while I work...bad idea. Now I'm just sad and unmotivated.
Honestly reading people story playing this game really make me happy.
Now I don't play sea of thieves anymore but God damn listening to this song again is just......I was in a car with my family playing this song again and I began to feel tears in my eyes, my adventures in sea of thieves can be utter trash due to players who don't know anything and it can also be beautiful with some of the greatest people I have ever met
My earlier days in sea of thieves were amazing, whenever someone were to leave or were to have a ship sunk this shanty would be our go to
I fucking love this song so much
"Gentlemen, a ferocious journey it was, afterall. Wish ya lads the best to yer lives, live on! Be what you dreamed of being! Explore the world and don't stop following your dreams!!!"
-Unknown pirate captain
The Captain always goes down with his ship
Bloody hell, I fell asleep whilst listening 👌👍👍👍
This shanty is reminding me of the times that i had as a young we lad. moments of love and laughter with some of my friends and family and some of them have moved on or passed away. times i wish can relive again but can't. Time only goes forward never back. Remember of those times that make you who you are.
When your in a sloop and see a galleon coming towards you aggresively and u just accept it. 1:28
It's so beautiful. 😢😭 This can make a grown man cry. Get back in there tear!
Such a nice song when riding on the waves!
Me and my crew play this everytime before we get off saying our goodbyes.
This remindes me of when i found a snake basket with a snake inside i played this so he wouldnt bite me soon after my ship got sunk by another players ship and i was unable to save the snake
R.I.P snake
I play this on the front of my boat all the time looking out at the vast ocean.
Being a solo slooper can be one of the most fun but loneliest adventures. I don't know how to find gamer tags very well on steam so I stopped trying, one day I'll find my Gallion of friends.
Happy Seas out there Pirates!
Time for my story
I was playing with my friend earlier today and we were doing the wild rose tall tale (thankfully just started) and fought and killed a megalodon, while we were celebrating (not even 10 seconds later btw) with this song we heard a skeleton ship coming from the water and as we fought it the water turned black as the Kraken appeared. We fought until we knew the ship couldn’t be saved so as the ship went down into the depths of the waves, we played this song to say “we lost this round but we’ll never lose the war!” To the big ol bitch of a kraken
Edit: fucking killed the bitch whoo time to drink some gro- oh you have got to be kidding me *pirates of the Caribbean theme song* YOU WANT ROUND TWO HUH? WELL BRING IT ON FUCKER!
SOT is among the top 3 games I’ve played.

Join me in this song,
In remembrance of the late Stan Lee
EXCELSIOR!!!!!!!!!!
