Hi Jon. Absolutely no problem with related product reviews, where the link is clear (I know that you will be completely up front on this). As your dad said in the video, you see these products and wonder if they are up for the job so some real world testing and feedback would be really helpful. As would some long term thoughts on reliability/ durability etc. Cheers and congrats on a successful October.
I went to the NEC show on the Saturday, very good, very busy ! You have to be quite organised and alert to find, see and appreciate specific cars and stands you are interested in, by the time we got to the Lancaster stand and car exhibition everything had largely blended in together so the Mazda may not have been appreciated. But it’s good that you were asked and at least it might have temporarily escaped its protective cocoon… By the way we failed to find the Armstrong Siddeley stand in Hall 1, but credit to the TVR club for their much appreciated tea and biscuits cafe in the corner ! As for Borg & Beck components, they may well be acceptable quality but I have seen identical components branded as Firstline so I think B & B are now largely generic reproduction parts labelled using an established brand name (like QH, NAPA) to give credibility and confidence…
@@JonCoupland Yes you're right... I meant "MR2". As for parts... I really hope that the likes of Borg & Beck, Febi Bilstein etc are genuinely producing reliable suitable quality replacement parts and you won't be redoing the job after a year or so as so many people are finding these days.... old stock genuine parts or properly remanufactured (by clubs, specialists etc.) are ideally the ones to go for if available IMO.... NAPA UK is a new brand licenced by Alliance Automotive Group who have been buying up independent Motor Factors (and other businesses like Tayna batteries) left right and centre all over the UK for the last year or so... THEY decide now what parts are available to customers of these local businesses and it is NOT Comma, Mann, Bosch, Apec, etc. or whatever you might have preferred and requested. If you think about what they have spent on acquisitions and investment into their HUGE Rotherham facility you might reflect on the cost / quality balance of what they are providing to the trade, and where their stuff is sourced from. I've just bought a screen washer pump for my Rover 75.... like you I did some Ebay research and eventually chose an identical 'BMW' replacement from a known supplier... not the cheapest on offer but still less than £10 and delivered the next afternoon ! Fits and works great !
Topdon jump start is excellent 👌 always interesting 👍 the proton was a good buy, but I've never seen the police car. I'm glad you're going to be more hands-on on jon
The Armstrong Siddeley is an interesting car with unusual mechanicals. That will always appeal to people who’s main interest lies in repairing and restoring classic cars.
Great pistons as ever Jon and Pete and sounds like it’s been a busy month but great to hear the impian has fitted in well and I think it will be a nice car when done and I think you have the right approach to adverts and product testing Have enjoyed the Armstrong videos and don’t blame you with the NEC once we were at a car show and it came on the tannoy about a bonnet mascot being stolen off a car just felt awful for the owner Keep up the hard work both all the best to you all Daniel
Glad to hear that you're not going down the advertising route. Free tools are fine to accept for testing though, but be selective please. Perhaps when your dad is testing the new impact wrench, he could also explain a bit about why on a car, a battery impact wrench would be used instead of his Makita impact driver. Basically, if a DIY car fanatic (doing everything on a car) wants to buy a impact wrench or an impact driver, which will get used the most ? As always, enjoyed the waffling ! 😁
I havn't got a db7-9 if anybody is listening 😄last show i went in oct, a cameraman dropped his stuff onto my neighbours esprit gt3 and chipped scratched the door and front wing, then the cheeky **** laughed it off said oh i chipped your carand walked away.we thought was joking until looked at it, terrible behaviour.
If I see clickbait, I usually unsubscribe and stop watching you tube channels. I did enjoy the Armstrong Siddeley episodes, but won't be watching anything to do with Protons or Hyundais, as I have zero interest in such cars.
Thanks for watching this episode and sorry about the early technical issues - what are you looking forward to next?

Thanks Nick. Genuinely appreciate your support

Toyota MR2 ... I don't own a Mazda 😉
Genuinely - what would you class as 'good parts' to buy?

@JonCoupland Onwards and upwards 🙏

Glad you enjoyed it
Talking nonsense is - for me - the factor which makes a channel a sub. Brilliant fun, atb
Thank you 😊
Jon Coupland, there's a proton pickup on eBay with a truckman top 37 thousand miles
I've seen it! I've got to run it past the boss 😂

Interestingly in the past the Armstrong Siddeley videos really underperformed. Maybe they just weren't getting to the right people 👍😁
i think next we can reach the proton wira
One day

Thanks for watching. Will only accept stuff that we will use or would consider buying ourselves 👍😊

In light of the statement made by Pete about him being exploited can I remind you Jon of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 😀
Indeed

Unbelievable
don't overlook an auto .... 2 pedals ... 2 feet ... what more do you need? 😉
But an auto on a 'hot hatch?' ... Not fun right?
@@JonCoupland Good point .... well made. I'll let you have that one! 🤣

That's ok 👍 I think we are lucky in that hopefully we have something for everyone
That was an odd mic problem that just fixed itself.
