I think I've said it before, but adding your sleep stories to my routine has helped me have much better sleep on a regular basis. And if I wake up in the night I just put it on to listen again and get back to sleep. Thank you for your mission driven work, Michelle!

Hi Michelle I love how you say goodnight at the end of all your stories and i also love how the leftovers were donated to the old folks bingo night. My very first sleep story was called "Nightfall" which was read by Eva Green, it used to be on youtube in full but can only be found on her facebook page now if you google it and as it is an edit, the sound is not as soft as it was on the youtube recording. When i first heard it, i thought it was the most beautiful thing i had ever heard. But you have overtaken that thought with your stories. You bring such a sense of community that i feel was last felt, here in England, back in the 80s when i was a teenager. Love you ❤.

I have been in so much pain for past eight years due to a deep loss and trauma and not getting enough sleep. You are an angel !
I'm so sorry that you have been struggling with pain-- and hope that you continue to feel supported by me and my work. I completely agree, and it's why I began creating this characters and character-driven narratives. I believe deep down that they simply required more searching than community once did-- and the more we believe and imagine its existence, the more it may come back. And the more we realize how much we have in common (even possible in the Launderette where every character has such a different background). I've been so blessed to experience this firsthand over time.

Happy tears as I hear about the connections between our dream story worlds. I love this so much. If you ever want to go west coast San Francisco, the market, the bridge, sea lions gathered at fisherman’s wharf with the imported and rebuilt double decker carrousel; while surrounded by the sour dough bakery, Ghirardellichocolates and dog friendly cafes, bookstores and ocean beach walks… was once so magical that for decades movies and music were written about it. I miss home but it’s not the same happy carefree magic out there anymore.

As a New Englander, I have been to that Oceanside town, known as Newport RI. I could visualize Melodies bakery and its ambiance in that particularly charming location. Loved her voice. Sending all the love out there I can-- it's so incredibly hard in times we feel so helpless. My heart aches, the only solution I ever seem to find is being the change I want to see. I am sorry for your hurt, for the needless hurt of any soul... but it's why I do my best to create some safe place to come and rest.
If I walk into a bakery and it’s a really good one which is immediately noticed by the aroma of the mixtures of butter, flour, sugar then I’m not walking out without buying probably more then one thing (stop reading if you are triggered by food ) . I’m a sucker for confections and a sugar freak who lives for carbs. Hmmm, I’m thinking of dark chocolate covered layered chocolate mouse and ny cheese cake you know a decadent combination along with really buttery lemon bars in confectionary sugar or blondie brownies and a loaf of French bread maybe a few jelly filled cookies with jam in the middle and custard cups or wait, Italian pastries. But how am I going to sleep after all if this……zzzzz I’ll sleep Sorry if I triggered anyone I just find so much joy in these things even if it’s just in my fantasy. These days I have to force myself to see the blessings in life. I have joyful memories of bakeries which helps me remember I have lots of joyful memories and I can create more. Have a cruller on me it’s calorie free if it’s just in your imagination
I'm in love with all of these-- I hope you'll sleep. I think I often think about fresh baked cookies on snow days when I would play outside until so beat that a cookie and a nap would accompany the afternoon. I know some people may need to avoid this for the mere mention of food-- but you're right-- it's all calorie free in the imagination.
@@MichellesSanctuary I used to frequent a cute antique shop that had loads of country French stuff that we love it was next door to a bakery. While going through this rather large store I couldn’t help but crave whatever was baking next door.I asked the owner of antique store how he handled constantly smelling all that goodness and he told me he got used to it and no longer smelled it. How impossible was that I can still smell it. I find food an aspect of love in some primordial way. As the song goes “food glorious food” from Oliver. I have an aunt who baked the best chocolate chip cookies and a few late aunts who made the best NY cheesecake with graham cracker crust topped with cherries or strawberries I can still taste it and smell its delightful aroma. Residual from covid is my sense of taste and smell is very damped I do hope it’s temporary or I’ll be most unhappy. I’m eating Tates oatmeal Raisin cookies and all I can taste is the sensation of sweet. No umami. But in my imagination I can experience it all and it’s just glorious

Mmmmm 🎂 cake😊 i remember going to a bakery in upstate New York and buying cream puffs to take to my grandpa Bill my dad's dad in the convalescent/ rehabilitation home man did he love them 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Those simple pleasures can make people so happy and feel cared for. I made a s’mores pie this weekend for my partner’s birthday and got to use a kitchen torch for the first time. He was so happy to watch me make it and eat it the last few days.
I'm very grateful for the life changing discovery of your videos. Ive lost count of how many years I've been listening along. I think the first video I listened to was a rainforest one that had a tree house near a waterfall in it. I remember the feeling of waking up for the first time after sleeping for more than 2 hours in one go. I had been suffering for years, missing out on sleep and living with chronic pain, trying to get help. On my hardest days I would listen to every video you had available and feel that at least I had rested if I hadn't managed to sleep. Fast forward about 15 years and I feel part of a community of listeners who support each other. You always welcome and support those who comment about having a hard day/night and there are many other beautiful souls who listen along and leave replies as well. I get more sleep now. I have even developed a habit of listening to your videos when I'm awake and need a break. Most of the time i have less pain. I think I will be listening to your videos for the rest of my life. There are so many now that I think it would take me alot longer to listen to them one after another like I used to. Thankyou for all the sleep and rest you have given me. Blessings, Dot
