USC is the best collage football team ever. Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, John David Booty. Who's next? 11 national championships, 3 Rose Bowls in the last 3 years. We cannot be stopped by anyone. I'm loving this. 12-0, 12-0, 12-0, 10-2, 10-2, are our records for the last 5 years in the regular season, for a total of 56-4... THAT IS UNBEATABLE
Man, that Pete Caroll is one hell of a head coach. He is definitely the toast of the town in Los Angeles. If I was playing college football, I would love to play for USC, especially under someone like Pete Caroll, one of the all-time best college football coaches there is. He really connects with his players, and is more fun-loving and all.
The USC Trojans are known for dominating high ranked teams. When it comes to a team like OSU and a coach like Pete Carrol, USC is going to be mentally and physically prepared for this game, and to speak of the talent USC has at every position right now.... OMG i just cant wait till this game.
Great highlight video. That was a great game all around. So entertaining. It's so cool seeing Pete Carroll's enthusiasm and motivating the players. You can tell he sincerely enjoys it when his players make great plays. That's the type of coach you'd want to play for. Go USC!
USC 2010 schedule, they have 4 out of conference games, Hawaii, Virginia, Note Dame, & Minnesota. Conference from the WAC, ACC, & Big10. USC loves out of conference game.
I respect the traditional Pac-12/Big 10 matchup for the Rose Bowl, but as a Missouri alumnus, this was beautiful to watch when Illinois got a BCS berth at Missouri's expense when Missouri beat them earlier that year.
This was a sad day for me as an Illinois fan. Glad to see us in the Rose Bowl again, but not to go out there and lay an egg. I would have been happy with a loss to SC as long as we put up a fight. Didn't happen that way though. Illinois is still trying to regain its respect as a football program, and a strong showing here could have gone a long way in doing that.
-USC 55-19 (Oklahoma)-National Champ game in Miami -USC 38-41 (last second loss to VY, if LenDale converts that 4th & 1 its over) -USC 52 Nebraska 10 (at their place) -USC 28 Nebraska 10 (in LA)
since 2001 or so, usc has only been challenged by one team in their bcs games, in which they lost in the last minute. other than that, they have dominated every team they faced
USC 38-17 (Iowa - Orange Bowl)-2003 USC 28-14 (Michigan - Rose Bowl)-2004 USC 32-18 (Michigan - Rose Bowl)-2006 USC 49-17 (Illinois - Rose Bowl)-2007 USC 35-3 (Ohio State)-2008 I think Pete has beaten the BRAKES off of EVERY Soft 10 team...and Penn State is next.
I know many disagree, but I think Illinois and USC were a good match up. I expected Illinois to either keep it close or actually win. They did keep it close for more than half of the game. But a few mistakes let the game get really out of hand. Sometimes good matchups end up as blowouts. A huge part of it is momentum. Here are a few examples. 1981: Penn State 48, Pitt 14 1993: Alabama 34, Miami 13 2005: USC 55, Oklahoma 19 2007: Oregon 39, Michigan 7 2007: Penn State 38, Wisconsin 7
Illinois was second in the Big Ten, so they deserved the Rose Bowl bid. This wasn't an average Illinois team, either, they were a very good 9-3 team, but unfortunately it wasn't shown in this game. I think intimidation played a factor in this game. Illinois had come off of two consecutive 2-10 seasons that can be summed up with being down 56-3 at halftime on homecoming to Penn State in 2005. You could also argue that in 2005 Oklahoma had no business playing USC because they were demolished.
Ohio State and USC both have won 7 national titles and 7 Heisman trophies. Two great traditions for sure. Only a fool would trash talk OSU or USC...Let's stop all the hating. I'm sick of reading all of the crap people write on these pages.
If USC had inserted Sanchez at the start of this season they would have went to the natn'l title game either that season or the next, the offense was good and the defense was great.
@seanwhitaker05 Also, don't forget that Arkansas was the SEC runner up that year and gave Florida a game. USC was really the best team in the nation in 2006 IMO.
Great game USC. I am a UGA fan but I know a great team when I see one. Maybe USC and UGA will play in a Bowl game this year... that would be awesome. P.S. Mad respect for Pete carroll
You are exactly right. The SEC is a medias conference. LSU Georgia, Auburn, Tennesse, Clemson all ranked too high to begin with. They lose and lose again and they stay ranked. Its pathetic.
Great song choice; I think this game was a lot closer than what it seems when you look at the yardage of Illinois and how well they played offensively. Don't get me wrong, USC was definitely the better team that day; but if Illinois avoided some mistakes the game would have a closer score.
wow, i like osu, but even i can admit that they choke in the big games, and every top 5 team is gonna get upset, hopefully it'll be osu-usc in the rose bowl BTW: whats the song?
Why is it I notice, that there are so meany haters when it comes to SC? Bottom line is you can have your own opinions but you can't have your own facts. And the fact is USC Trojans are the greatest football school of all time.
In the Big 12 South....OU has won SEVEN confernce crowns since 2000, Hint...the Big 12 (formerly the Big 8) started in 1996-1997. That means, since nearly the inception of bringing Texas, Tex tech, Baylor, & A&M from teh disbanded SWC and Arky went to the SEC and TCU & SMU went to the WAC & Sun Belt....OU (Old Big 8) has dominated that conference and is a perrinial power year in and out. They contend for the BCS every year and are in a BCS bowl game more than Texas ever is (1 every 4-5 yrs)
every one always tells me that illinois got killed and never had a chance in this game but we had a chance to go down 21-17 in the third quarter and Cumberland fumbled going into the end zone. and also who knows what happens if USC doesn't pick up that forward pass that hit the ground and get a big gain out of it if a few plays went illinois way this game would have been a lot closer.
@seanwhitaker05 My point is, anybody can be good out of conference when all the have to face in conference is practice squads. When the level of competitiveness was finally raised in the Pac-10, USC was nowhere to be found, and it's best team (Oregon) faltered in its BCS games.
@seanwhitaker05 Yeah fing right. SC never played the very best SEC team when they finally got one this century. Everybody expected Auburn to contend in '03 (started #6, btw) but they didn't, going 8-5. Arkansas wasn't ranked in either contest against USC, and was breaking in a OC new to the college game as well as missing half of its RB tandem when they lost in '06. While Ark won 10 games that year, they finished on a 3-game losing streak.
USC vs Illinois. Illinois has had only one good season in how many years. USC has played at the rose bowl the last 4 years. the last 3 years they played big 10 teams, well damn just give the W, lets see them beat a real team, outside of california.
Notre dame has more consensus national championships than USC, more Heisman winners (because of bush), more all Americans, more wins and they lead the series between the two teams.
Keep thinking that, also were playing SC not Florida or LSU, so just because you get killed by someone, doesn't mean you can't get better, and go beat a great team like SC
@TheArtbell oh im sorry i didnt know i was in english class. i thought i was watching a football video. if you are going to post, post something about the video.
True. But we all know it's because the Pac-10, well USC, have been screwed by the BCS system. As a Buckeye fan, I have said before the LSU/OSU title game and after that USC should have been there and not us. I also thought they deserved it over Oklahoma. There is just too much talent on their roster to deny them and they perform better than anyone in big games.
Rose Bowl of 2005 (USC loses to Texas) Again, I don't care about the Big 12 North. They're weak nationally, but the South can't be fucked with. The Red River Rivalry is probably the toughest rivalry game for any 2 teams in college to date.
I made a comment awhile ago about that USC couldnt hang with anybody in the nation!..I was wrong on all accounts, USC defense is tremendous I'll put it that way...
As far as Miami goes I agree they had star players but 3 Heisman Trophy winners in 4 years and winning all non conference games including Auburn and Arkansas on there home field? Remember Miami got handled by A PAC 10 school the year before they won the BCS in 01 ( Washington Huskies) so I'm just saying.
USC has dominated the SEC. Pete Carroll has challenge the SEC anywhere, anytime. The only problem is, the SEC too scared to scheduled in USC because they fear they will lose & be out of the championship picture. So it's not USC fault they don't play too many tough teams. SEC & Big12 needs to man up and take Pete's challenge
I hope you know that USC hasn't lost a home game in almost 7 years. USC is going to slaughter OSU. Knocking off a top 10 team and moving my Tigers 1 more spot up.
USC has the best bowl record in the history of ncaaf we have proven are selves against other conferences so get out of here you SEC big-10 and big-12 haters.
@YOUTAIA No excuses, just laying bare the facts. Yes, going into '03 SC lost some superstars after winning an Orange Bowl....and they left on a high note after finishing 6-6 the year before that. SC wasn't hurting in the recruiting dept. (now we know why). Now even if Ark. lost, you can't tell me that te result would be the same in, say, week 6 rather than 1. My overall point is this: It was easy for SC to dominate out of conference because they rarely faced any adversity in conference.
The SEC is in the standings because they're good...look at their record our only losses were to Utah because Alabama just didnt have it, and S. Carolina just isnt that good....but still..the SEC plays good teams and they usually come out on top. Look at Florida, they came out as the better team. And of course...Penn State got destroyed because they were overrated..but that doesnt mean USC would beat a good SEC team.
Yeah, but it isnt fun for the SEC, because their theory about the SEC "power" would lose all weight and credibility. That is why they do OOC games with Sun Belt Teams. Strictly regional.
"collage"? Seems like you get a darn good education down there in Southern California. But honestly, 11 national titles? It isn't a National Title if the Corn Puffs poll names you #1. You are starting to sound like Alabama fans.....Those records are very impressive though.
Imagine the shock on gameday by "Juice Williams"...with a name like "Juice" as an Opposing player, thats a huge no-no in the L.A. Coliseum...orenthal-james simpson!
USC would of won at least 2 National Championships in that era if they had the playoff system of today.
Diego Candia I really believe they would've won 4 national titles!
Had they not choked against Stanford, Oregon, and Oregon State, that's a big possibility.
Like Walter said. They had some massive chokes. Losses against terrible squads.
RIP Joe McNight
How I miss that 08 defense, one of a kind. Extremely proud to be a Trojan, I bleed that cardinal and gold. Fight On!
Weird to be commenting about 2008 USC when the video playing is the 2007 USC team.
USC is the best collage football team ever. Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, John David Booty. Who's next? 11 national championships, 3 Rose Bowls in the last 3 years. We cannot be stopped by anyone. i got goose bumps off that speech

dang man i have been to there locker room and i have played in there field that is really amazing!
USC FIGHT ON FOR LIFE!!!!!!
#4 rip my friend and favorite Trojan of all time
We are the Champions ... Roll Tide Roll ...
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!
Even if you look at recent years. 3 Heisman Trophy winners in 4 years. Almost pulled off 3 consecutive Championships. Come on man!
We're Gunna Miss REY REY, BRIAN CUSHING and CLAY MATTHEWS They Were The Best Linebackers For USC
i was at the game and by god u will never regain your name illinois
i can't wait for football season
If USC had inserted Sanchez at the start of this season they would have went to the natn'l title game either that season or the next, the offense was good and the defense was great.
hey yodaisatrojan, what is the song?
@seanwhitaker05 Also, don't forget that Arkansas was the SEC runner up that year and gave Florida a game. USC was really the best team in the nation in 2006 IMO.
I have a question about this game, did USC go to a 3-4 against illinois or did they stay in the 4-3???
Great game USC. I am a UGA fan but I know a great team when I see one. Maybe USC and UGA will play in a Bowl game this year... that would be awesome.
P.S. Mad respect for Pete carroll
USC plays a hybrid 4-3/3-4. its a 4-3 look with a standup DE who plays as a LB in spread looks like Illiniois runs.
its going to be a good game.
Best freaking team in the nation right there.
You are exactly right. The SEC is a medias conference. LSU Georgia, Auburn, Tennesse, Clemson all ranked too high to begin with. They lose and lose again and they stay ranked. Its pathetic.

Which they did against Oklahoma and they also have an AP NC.
you could always schedule one marquee game - like alabama vs va tech
Shoulda been Missouri in the Rose
Didnt USC put 70 on Arkansas? Then 50+ the following year? When was the last time an SEC team did that?
Yupm they say "WAAAAAAR TIME" I think its pretty intimidating.
wow, i like osu, but even i can admit that they choke in the big games, and every top 5 team is gonna get upset, hopefully it'll be osu-usc in the rose bowl
BTW: whats the song?
why did illinois make the rose bowl? werent they 9-3?
Oh that was the Rose Bowl? Looked like another home game for the Trojans
that is the best comment i have ever seen.
Why is it I notice, that there are so meany haters when it comes to SC? Bottom line is you can have your own opinions but you can't have your own facts. And the fact is USC Trojans are the greatest football school of all time.
usc all day
USC USC!!!! OMG
SEC Fans Please Tell Your ADs to Schedule USC. USC has tried to schedule SEC teams but their ADs dont return the calls.
In the Big 12 South....OU has won SEVEN confernce crowns since 2000, Hint...the Big 12 (formerly the Big 8) started in 1996-1997. I hope you don't think this will be a walk in the park for SC either.
Conquest!
FIGHT ON USC!!!!

thats true
future trojan 2012
well I guess we'll see during the national championship right?
Big play Ray
@seanwhitaker05 Yeah fing right. SC never played the very best SEC team when they finally got one this century. Sorry bro, I'm a Trojan but Stanford snatched one from us at home last October. Not to worry. The Trojans are still kings of college football.
No USC doesn't play 3-4... Pete talks about typically sticking to the base defense which is a 4-3.
And you know its the truth.
You said the Big 12. Now you specify one division in the conference? Puuuhleazze
Keep thinking that, also were playing SC not Florida or LSU, so just because you get killed by someone, doesn't mean you can't get better, and go beat a great team like SC
fuuuuck. WHAT A TEAM.
@TheArtbell oh im sorry i didnt know i was in english class. i thought i was watching a football video. if you are going to post, post something about the video.
Iv been saying that forever thanks for agreeing
History says otherwise. Oregon will continue the trend vs Okie State matter of factly in the Holiday Bowl.
There's a word called upset.
Every team gets upset some time.
@justinjamesful ohio state, and michigan can hear you lol.
man it should of been usc vs uga for the nc game last
Yes, but only 6 different winners.
Rose Bowl of 2005 (USC loses to Texas)
Again, I don't care about the Big 12 North.
They're weak nationally, but the South can't be fucked with. The Red River Rivalry is probably the toughest rivalry game for any 2 teams in college to date.
1:37 FRONTFLIP FTW
I made a comment awhile ago about that USC couldnt hang with anybody in the nation!..I was wrong on all accounts, USC defense is tremendous I'll put it that way...
Cochise by Audioslave u welcome
no one from usc is going to win a heisman anytime soon....unless they give the heisman to the whole team, because everyone is too damn good at SC.

@TheArtbell Sure the Pac-12 may not be the strength of the SEC, but they are nowhere near weak.
I disagree wat about michigan, who won 11 or Alabama(who i dont like by the way) who has won 12 national championships
run him down rey rey
I hope you know that USC hasn't lost a home game in almost 7 years.
USC is going to slaughter OSU. Knocking off a top 10 team and moving my Tigers 1 more spot up.
USC has the best bowl record in the history of ncaaf we have proven are selves against other conferences so get out of here you SEC big-10 and big-12 haters.
@seanwhitaker05 the SEC is the class of Football and Baseball. We dont need to cheat like Thug U. Our heisman winners dont just rent them either.
@YOUTAIA No excuses, just laying bare the facts. Yes, going into '03 SC lost some superstars after winning an Orange Bowl....and they left on a high note after finishing 6-6 the year before that. darn? very educated.
I hope USC gets forced to play Tech this year. That would be a proper insult.
They have challenge the SEC, but no one wants to accept the challenge after seeing Arkansas * Auburn getting crushed.
@Gerald McGill You ain't cheating you ain't trying.
The SEC is in the standings because they're good...look at their record our only losses were to Utah because Alabama just didnt have it, and S.
