    There's simply no denying the sheer historical impact of the Beatles. They are One of the most influential musical creative forces and cultural events of the modern age.

    I guess The Beatles beat Ronald Reagan in taking credit for the fall of the USSR. Never believed that Reagan was the sole reason for it. Although he might have destroyed the middle class here. ;-)

      The "Nitty-gritty Dirt Band" was the first American rock group to play there.

    It is incredible how The Beatles manage to bring liberty and even hapiness to all the slavic people when the USSR was still alive, without using any agression against the USSR state, turning into the key that opened the door to the west culture for the soviet people.

    It's a real shame that The Beatles couldn't help also to destroy the complete isolation in North Korea.

  • @456rakki
    @456rakki 9 лет назад +7

    y'know it would've do the same thing to north korea

    • @parasatc8183
      @parasatc8183 8 лет назад +5

      +rakki realm Basically the Soviet Union after Stalin died was becoming a bit more liberal. Under Khrushchev's rule, satire and other things that would have made Stalin kill you were already made legal, as long as they weren't anti-Soviet. This liberalism paved the way for Western ideas to sweep through the Eastern Bloc. China started having the same fate in 1976, when Deng Xiaoping became leader and that was the same year when Mao died; Mao was basically this fan of Stalin and followed his tracks to lead China.
      It's quite surprising North Korea didn't, at the least, end up like the rest of the Eastern Bloc nowadays: under American influence. Fidel Castro was already getting pretty soft from the 2000's but North Korea still seems so authoritarian.

      DorianLS He was a human fool, a peasant ruling 1/6 of the world, however, better than worst. At least, Carribean crisis he created was cancelled (being a boy at that time I still remember the horror which hanged in the air). I was born in Leningrad, USSR in 1956 and still live here. My grandfather was his friend. NB. When in 1968 I first heard Beatles over heavily dumped BBC I got such shock that learnt English by myself in two years. Beatlemania in the USSR was even more powerful than in the West. Several young generations got out of mental prison of communist crap due to them. Last but not least: my son sings “With a Little Help From My friends” in this film...
