It's just crazy how quick his thinking was in this battle especially, everything was spontaneous and he was able to articulate every insult so that it made sense, I lost it at the back up dancer line that was the nail in the coffin
Zachary Martinez he has a lot of lines and structures that aren’t long enough to come off as “pre-written” and these help so much. He can be spitting one on autopilot while thinking about the next line, and he can think up the rhyme about two thirds of the way through. Or in this case, maybe even pivot to something based on his opponent’s dumb ass dance move. He also clearly has some things he’s looking for that he can easily include, like what they look like. It’s incredible how reactive his baseline performance is. His normal mode is just head and shoulders above everyone else at these things. And by being so practiced, it gives him room to think up those truly defining moments, like backup dancer. Or it did, until he died. Such a loss.
Jack Coolidge I actually don’t think he meant it was too easy *for him* but that the idea of rap battles was too easy. Just gotta get the best couple punchlines to win

They probably cut the music because they knew all he had was pre-written. They wanted to see if he could think in the moment. He was obviously reciting after that.
The "Back up dancer" line might just be the greatest freestyle, in-the-moment' line of all time.

Always think about that line. Perfect timing
That BIG L line is dope as fuck but not off the top at all. Big L>Eyedea but Eyedea>Big L when it's off the dome every single time. Different games.
Old Tapes yess and then continue it with that Janet Jackson punchline
I love that look of calm acceptance from RK after Eyedea was done.
That knowing look that said "Yeah. I got wrecked. Props".
More like him telling himself: just sit still & for the love of God stop! giving him ammo to use against me lolol
