We use a tungsten carbide blade in jigsaw for cut outs alot easier less dust than a grinder, long cuts/rips use tracksaw with vacuum and diamond blade

Oh, that is smart. I bought a Makita XGT jigsaw a few weeks ago, but haven’t used it yet. I might need to grab some TC blade and give it a try

Man i hate working with anything fibre-cement, specially hardies. You’ve done a great job to keep a cool head working with it 😂

Yeah, I think everyone who works with it, despises the stuff. I would never be putting this stuff on my house, especially horizontally - Those joints do my head in

I’ve used this vertical once but not horizontal before.

Now that I think about it, I imagine vertical would be pretty good to install. Most of the issues we had and the flashings were waiting on are because horizontal.

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing.. Just a question with regards to the 10mm gap where the boards join together and the window frame, does it require a scriber to be put on to remove the gap?

I probably didn't explain that very well. The boards go 10mm under the windows flange, so there isn't a gap. It's the same around the sides as well, and the little gaps in the profile get plugs. You could make a scriber, but it would be a bit more work than a normal bevel back weatherboard

Do you have to slide the board into the box corne ali groove or you just butting in sort of?

It just butts into the corner and sealed with MS. It's a cheap and reasonably tidy way of doing it. Box corners would be pretty hard to do well for these boards, I imagine.

14:10 does cutting back the groove affect the water tight of the weather boards if water was supposedly to get in under the lip of the weatherboard. (

I don’t think so. As long as there’s some of the groove left, the board can’t seperate from the one below. Even without it, there’s still about 30mm lap, which is the same as standard Linea boards
