So, i promised to analyze Rodneys flips a few videos ago and here's my analisys. Today we have a 1080° side flip with a small box. Great balance, dangerous choice for a trick and very clean catch on the bottom right. Having a smaller box, Rodney knew he needed some extra flips to impress the judges. Not having enough rivals to compare in this discipline, explaining the game uninterrupted during the throw and being a great gent gets him a 10/10.
Wow, Rodney. Already two roll-and-write game How To Play videos this month? I would say "pace yourself," but I'm a roll-and-write addict, so "more, please!!!" xD Thanks for another solid tutorial! :)
Such thorough explanation as always, thanks Rodney! This looks great, I'm loving these pencil in paper player sheets, and those added grid shaping advanced rules, very cool!!
Awesome - I just picked this up after playing some other roll&writes. Totally into this style right now and love the theme/artwork on this title. I never picked up the regular game and always wanted to - maybe some day...
@@WatchItPlayed Thank you Rodney! It seems I found the pads not the sheets. They are indeed downloadable! It is a plus that they also included the rules. Thanks again!!
Hey Rodney, I really enjoy your series and always watch them with pleasure ... I recently found a game that really brought my attention and I am wondering if I should buy it. The game is called Vindication ... Would it be possible to upload a "How-to-play" video for it ?
Thank you so much for these video's. They are a great help and very entertaining. I have a question about the yield function. You say that you using the yield function, you harvest all of the available resources of that type. I have the Dutch version and I am just not sure if it says that you can harvest all of them. It seems 'off balance' with the rest of the game as you are getting so many more resources than in any type of action.
Field access: I thought that with a harvest you can take ALL of any one type of resource from one field (So 2 wood could be harvested at 7:46 )? Happy to be wrong but that's what I thought it was. Also 8:49 I thought even with the Yield you can only harvest from ONE field
Great video Rodney! Glad also to find via a video on this game from Rahdo on how to play the adventure solo mode & keep the pad clean so it's easy to replay previous adventure sheets. Get some cube resources or something around that size, use the cubes to cover up the solo adventure boxes instead of drawing on it , also could have a small dry erase board nearby to mark that up instead to play the adventures again.
I'm confused on 2 things. When creating settlements, at the end of the game do they earn any stars? Also, what's the point of harvesting from the field. You use an Acton to harvest and then have to use an action to apply your harvested resource. Or does each harvested item give a star? I can't seem to figure these 2 questions out.
Hi Angela, it's been awhile since I shot this video and I don't have the game handy, but I am confident all of this is covered in the video. If you have questions about specific timestamped areas, feel free to share them, and if I can help elaborate, I will.
hey rodney, your link to the downloadable sheets is broken. here's correct urls: english: portalgames.blob.core.windows.net/is-roll-and-write/IS_RollnWrite_downloadable_sheets_EN.pdf german: portalgames.blob.core.windows.net/is-roll-and-write/IS_RollnWrite_downloadable_sheets_DE.pdf

very good. What I appreciate about this vid, in particular, is you add more clarity to rules than the rulebook itself provides. Always appreciated!
Thank you kindly!
I agree.
The rules are not that well explained.
As a solo player I still think it is more a two player game, though.
Thanks

You're very welcome :)
As a self-proclaimed addict, what other single player R&W games would you recommend?
I'm playing the original Imperial Settlers at my local shop this evening... plus expansions. I'm sure this will hit the table soon enough.
Hope you enjoy it!
Such thorough explanation as always, thanks Rodney! This looks great, I'm loving these pencil in paper player sheets, and those added grid shaping advanced rules, very cool!!
Thanks for the kind words and for checking out the video!
Great vid. But I want to see a Gloomhaven box flip! Pleeeease? :-)
I don't own that title - sorry!
They have gotten sooooooooo much better than their first video.

So many games, so little time!
Wait....we weren't left to discover the solo mode on our own......what is happening?!?
I like to be unpredictable :)
Wonderful and really thorough explanation... as always. Thank you!
Just one minor thing, the extra sheets are free, but the pads do cost $5. :)
You can download them for free from their website: portalgames.pl/en/pre-order-imperial-settlers-roll-write/
@@WatchItPlayed Thank you Rodney! It seems I found the pads not the sheets. They are indeed downloadable! It is a plus that they also included the rules. Thanks again!!
This looks fun. I might pick it up for the solo mode only.
Thank for checking out the video Tony!
Plz Rodney make a video about Rising Sun i bet a lot people want it!I love your videos keep up the good job!!!Thank you!
Thanks for the interest Raziel, I talk a bit about that here: ruclips.net/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/видео.html&t=342
0:12 timestamp for the box toss
Damn Rodney...that flip tho
Great video as always!
Thank you Ro!
Do the Multiple boxed Granaries require multiple actions to move onto the next space?
Each "box" is an action. Some of the sections have multiple boxes (so you'd need an action for each of those boxes).

Thanks! I was curious about how this plays :). Looks very good.
Glad you enjoyed checking it out Petr!

Hey Jan, I'm not sure what the Dutch version says, but this video here was checked over by the publisher, so I'm confident it's correct.
Thanks for the very easy to understand how to play, am going to try solo mode first :)
I hope you have a fun time with it!
I want to know how many times it took you to film that opening and get the box to land face up. 😁
Why, the first time, of course! ;)
@@WatchItPlayed haha! I figured you'd say that!
I’d def watch a video of Rodney box flip bloopers. Great job as always

Nope, I have the rules right in the video. Was there a reason you thought it worked differently from your read of the rule book?
Great job as always. Thanks for the rules explanation. And the game flip. I'm going to go flip my games now.
Good luck :)

What changed from the previous edition of this video?
Just an editing correction.
Box flip wasn’t impressive enough, so he felt the need to do it over?

Ah, thanks so much! They must have switched it up. Appreciated, Richard!
What editing software do you use?
Adobe Premiere.
That was a nice flip
For the settlements, are you allowed to rotate the shape?
Nope ;) cheers from Poland
Nope. You'll find that covered here: ruclips.net/video/9sh-OnxuTeQ/видео.html
I laughed when you named your empire Rodney
Your number of points is my housenumber :O
"Draw a random number of them equal to the number of players plus one"...WAIT A MINUTE! That's not a random number!! ;)
Rodney draws upside down '3's better than I can right side up!
I was sweating billets :)
