Thank you so much for teaching people how to play Disney Sorcerer's Arena: Epic Alliances. We are so excited for players to jump into The Arena and play as their favorite characters! 💙
@@anhellusjhaet The game includes a chaptered-learning system that makes it easier to teach young players how to play. We recommend playing Chapter 1 until your group feels comfortable and then moving to the next chapter. If Chapters 2-4 are too complex, Chapter 1 is a great version of the game! 💙
We put this game together last night. Oh my word, those acrylic minis! They are fantastic! I love acrylic minis so much! We're going to try it today for the first time.
Were the character pieces low quality? I got mine new from Barnes and noble today but when I opened it up one pack of cards looked like it had been opened and poorly resealed. The board itself was folded wrong. I could get past those two but when I opened the pack of plastic character playing pieces and stands, they looked scratched to hell even after I took off the protective plastic and even had small cracks. It looks like someone took a razor blade to them. If this game wasn’t $53 they I honestly wouldn’t have minded at all, but since it’s kinda pricey I was expecting somewhat better quality (I get that not everything is going to be perfect but I was at least hoping the characters would look good/be good quality). The game itself was sealed so I don’t know if someone did a return and somehow resealed it after using it, or if I just got a bad batch, or if the quality is just that bad. I just was asking because I was going to exchange it but I don’t want to end up exchanging it and ending up with the same scratched up stuff. And if the quality is just that bad for most of these I’ll probably just return it and buy a different Disney game or something. I just hope that’s not the case because it seems like a fun game I just wish the set I ended up with didn’t look like someone ran it over a few times. Any help is appreciated thanks!
@@dayoldbread1696 I know my copy had none of those defects, and if it was widespread, I'm confident I would have heard about it. I'd say you either got a rare defective copy, or someone returned and took care to reseal it.
"for the draft, you can decide who goes first based on who most recently watched a disney movie" Ok so I'll be going first every time then 😁 Thanks for the video Rodney, want to try this game out and your video helped immensely (as always)
Oh this reminds me of a game I saw on Tabletop Simulator earlier this year. It was like this but themed around Smash Bros, I think it was called Smash Tactics?
After hearing about your Cat Island fiasco (and then watching it) concerning explaining draft picks, it's good to see you overcome that hurdle gracefully this time, Rodney!
Super fun! Now they just need Gus-Gus in one of their expansions! The cards are very thematic. We had a lot of fun. This is definitely one that I can see collecting the expansions to and enjoying trying out different characters!
@@WatchItPlayed Yes, now I just need to convince the Op that tubby lil' Gus would make a great fighter....his shirt never fit right....maybe he could flip it up and it could snap into the face of enemies.....
I'm confused about the hand limit. I know that I need to discard if I go over the hand limit.. but if I go below the hand limit do I draw back up to the hand limit. For example.. if I'm taking a turn as Ariel and my hand limit is 6 but I only have 4 cards after my turn do I draw back up to 6?
Hey Jamie, it's been a little while since I shot this video, and I'm not near my copy, but if I don't say that you draw back up to your hand limit, then you don't.
@@WatchItPlayed awesome. Thank you for clearing that up. My first game we drew back up to 6 after each characters turn. Then in chapter 2 we played to where we didn't draw back up to 6 and gameplay felt alot better. We really like this game so far, can't wait for expansions... JACK SKELLINGTON!!!
You pick which way you are using the card, and after it's played, you discard it - so you wouldn't have it to play during one of the other phases. Does that make sense?
Can you give me a time stamp to the section of the video you are asking about - I'm not quite sure I follow the question (and I shot this long enough ago, I don't remember the details).

A pleasure to be able to feature it!
@@TheOpGames looks great. I know expansions are in the works, any new arenas?
What do Disney and "Watch It Played" have in common? They both take me to happy, magical places!
That's what we hope! :)

Very nice to hear - and enjoy always being the first player :)
You introduce awesome games! Thanks so much!
Glad you enjoyed this one Teej :)
Used a D20 on the Character card and it was way better. I get kids could choke on dice but for adults i highly recommend Dice.
Good tip!
I was literally just thinking about using dice instead of the tokens and I think it is definitely much better
Let's go, Rodney Smith!!
Thanks Aaron :)
5:29 This is A+ acting, Rodney. I totally believed you were keeping your hand secret. 🤫

Not sure, haven't heard of it.

I managed a little better here :)

The cards are really neat. The abilities convey a lot about the characters!
We are really enjoying this one a ton. There are so many different combos. I can't wait for Moana.
Just worked out a trade on BGG that will bring this game to my collection. Very excited to try it out. Thanks for the video, Rodney!
Have a great time playing Kevin - glad you were able to get a copy!
When does this come out?
It's available now from The Op's website, and will be available in wider release towards the beginning of June.
Great video! Looks like a great game to play with my kids!
Thanks for checking it out Henri!
Definitely picking this up. I played hero clix back in the day and this gives me the same sort of vibe, but with more depth.
I hope you really dig it!
Great game in the vein of light casual skirmish games. I’d say if you like games like unmatched and wildlands then this would be right up your alley.
I agree!
I so want the expansion where Gus-Gus fights. But we did order the base game for until then. ;)
Expansion should be coming soon too :)
@@WatchItPlayed Yes, now I just need to convince the Op that tubby lil' Gus would make a great fighter....his shirt never fit right....maybe he could flip it up and it could snap into the face of enemies.....
I think there will be so many expansions for this! The Turning Tides is neat.
No doubt about it!
Can't wait for this game
I hope you have a great time playing!
I really love that they have a ch1 version for young kids!
Yeah that is very awesome.
This is a great tutorial! If you run out of cards to draw. Do you shuffle your discard pile or does that end the game?
That ends the game: ruclips.net/video/btej4DvSiEY/видео.htmlfeature=shared&t=1431

Totally buying it just for Gaston
One of my favorites too :)
So if I play a card with both movement and action phase symbols, is it that I can play it during either? Or it takes up both?
You pick which way you are using the card, and after it's played, you discard it - so you wouldn't have it to play during one of the other phases. Does that make sense?
@@WatchItPlayed yes, I just wasnt sure if it like...acted as both actions, since they seem to both move and do damage (at least in Demonas case)
also thank you lol
Thank you, Rodney!
Hey hey - you're welcome. Have fun playing David!
So if you try to play a moment card but have to return a card with a certain symbol could you still play the movement card?
Can you give me a time stamp to the section of the video you are asking about - I'm not quite sure I follow the question (and I shot this long enough ago, I don't remember the details).
What games exist that are like this but not Disney themed? I'm intrigued and new to this genre :)
unmatched
I'll check these out, thanks !
Summoner Wars and Unmatched are on this channel, including play throughs. Hope you enjoy checking them out!
@@WatchItPlayed Awesome! I'll definitely check it out, thanks!!
Funkoverse as well, for which Rodney also has a video.
great video
Thanks!
I am rooting for Paula. ;)
After last week's debacle, I think we all are. That was tough to watch as she just got obliterated by Matthew.
I just saw that Elsa is coming to Sorcerer's Arena. LOOK OUT! :)
Who is your favorite Disney character, Rodney? :)
It's going to sound like a cop-out, but I'm not exactly sure.
@@WatchItPlayed Yeah, it was a tough question. Unless you're me. And then it's not. 'Cause it's just got to be Gus-Gus. Followed by Grumpy. :)
Rodney throwing a card made me gasp a little bit..
All cards were recovered :)
Wait, the game about Sorcerers has Gaston as a playable character? The guy who doesn't read books?!
Is he just here because it's funny? Cause it is.
The players are the sorcerers. They summon Allies to help them. Some of the Allies just happen to also be magic users.
Yep, as the video shares, you play as a summoner who brings these characters together.
