Mining for Rubies, Sapphires and Rhodolite

  • Demonstration of how I mine for gemstones at the Cowee Gift Shop and Mason Mountain Mine near Franklin NC. I dig in the native pile that comes straight down from the mine. Typically we find mostly rubies, sapphires and rhodolite with quartz, kyanite and other common gemstones mixed in.

    I think I was there when you found that 784 CT sapphire. I let you use my scale 😂 I had been wondering when the video would be out out.

    We plan on going there in a month, I hope we find some stuff. I would love to find something and have it faceted. Thanks for putting this video up.

      I always find rubies and sapphires there some days are better than others. It is all about how much dirt you can process.
