I think anyone who read the comics thought Rosita died but it came as a bigger shock when it was Tara. They want Darly to be the leader, to take Ricks role and he cant do that if Tara was the leader. Henry was the real shocker to me, too. I thought this kid had plot armor. It looked like he was gonna be the new Carl. He got Carl's love story with Lydia. I just figured he was good. But, man, they really don't want Carol to have any kids. I really have to think, if they go the comic route, Negan has to present Carol with Alpha's head, right? Or maybe Carol just kills Alpha herself since they're probably too afraid to show a man beheading a woman. Terminus Carol will be in full effect in season ten. Tara's death surprised me, too. Being the leader of Hilltop is the kiss of death. From Gregory to Maggie to Jesus to Tara in a really short period of time. If Lauren doesn't come back to the show, I don't know what the fuck Hilltop is gonna do. I was prepared for a lot worse, though. Before the episode, I was thinking Ezekiel and Rosita were getting their comic deaths. I'm happy they survived. When Yumiko and Magna kissed, I got a bad feeling that Magna was a goner. I'm glad my crush is still around. At the end of the day, I really think we dodged a bullet. This could have been a lot worse. Enid wasn't really doing much. Tara was a leader by default. And we were all really annoyed with Henry. So, as far as killing ten people goes, this was about as painless as it could have been.
I think that's why they killed him. It is because some people are complaining about taking Carl's role in the comics.

I think we ALL felt worse for Carol than Henry. I was never a huge fan but I thought he turned a corner and was excited where his story was going. I now realize they were building him up hoping we would feel a connection. Tara was hard, loved her even tho I didn't always agree with her. If we lose Ezekiel next week... I'M DONE! Ok ... I literally didn't care for most of the people on the pikes, thought the Highwayman were cool and could have been around for longer, but never was a big Tara or Enid fan... but seeing Daryl and Carol react to Henry was incredibly heartbreaking. The way Siddiq talked about it with the scene playing in the background was incredibly beautiful.

TBH more people would care about the dog dying than all the other characters and i think the writers didn't want the dog to take away that moment from the characters.

That was the hardest part of the episode I had to watch to see Ozzy,Alek,DJ,Frankie,Tammy Rose,Rodney,Addy,Enid,Tara and Henry with their heads on Pike's that was brutal and very Heartbreaking

Episode 15
This episode in the end gave me more questions than answers. How would the "ten" be so easily kidnapped from the Kingdom? I think there is a traitor. But who? => Ezekiel.
Watch the episode again. Jerry's wife tells him that the king is missing the beginning of the movie because he is fixing the plumbing (where is Henry). Ezechiel is with Alpha just before to give him clothes for the winter. I just found that weird, do not you? Right after, Alpha enters the cinema next to his daughter. Ezekiel is not seen again until after Lydia comes to announce that she is looking for Henry. If there are suspense made to surprise the fans of the comics, we do not know what Ezekiel really did during all this time.
For months, Ezekiel has only talked about the fair to reunite all communities. What worse info during episode 16 if we learn that Ezekiel has betrayed his own? The "bomb" of this end of season is perhaps there. In the trailer of episode 16 he looks at the famous "pikes". But look well, he looks at those of the dead on the hill (especially Tara with whom he had to finish signing the famous pact of defense of the communities) but not that of Henry.
Alpha has trapped Ezekiel. She threatened to kill her son (whom the whisperers had captured). In exchange for his life (Ezekiel loves Henry more than anything else), he betrayed his own. After all, he is the man whom everyone trusts!
To punish him for the loss of his daughter (who does not want to join her anymore), she has Henry taken and taken to the whisperers to make him feel the loss of his child. She threatens to declare war (she will do it later with Daryl) if he tries to find his son. She uses another head that looks like him to believe in his death. At what moment? Siddiq says he sees everything (the decapitated heads I imagine too) and then he's knocked out. What need to knock him out while Beta and the others could easily tie him to a tree like Henry in episode 12? My theory: just after that, they took Henry with them (instead of killing him) and put a head that looked like him on the "pikes" to make others believe in his death.
Let's see the dead:
- Alexandria (2)
=> DJ (barn)
- patrollers of the road (2)
=> barn
- the hilltop (5)
=> kidnapped
- the kingdom (1 = Henry)
=> kidnapped
It's more than strange ...
The hilltop is the real community affected. The medallion "H" full of blood at the beginning of the episode annunciated it. You did not find Ezekiel very little expressive during Siddiq's speech while his beloved son "just died" in the worst of ways? The enemy from the inside may be him. "Lydia's" H "medallion on Henry's" pikes "wants to say his name first for her, but he also says hope as the husband at the beginning of the episode told his wife. And if we saw Henry again? Production says he's dead but GOT, for example, made us much worse for an entire year for Jon Snow's supposed death.
Episode 16 confirms my theory (which still holds for the moment). In the beginning, Ezekiel looks at the chart (thoughts to Tara he betrayed?) While in total opposition Carol looks at the memories of his son Henry with sadness. Ezekiel looks closely at Tara's signature (who is dead and probably betrayed). His sentence behind is not trivial: "The cowards die many times before their death (reference to him) .The brave only taste once to death (reference to the people he betrayed and who fought until 'at the end)".
2nd step: Carol says to go through the "pikes" and says "we did not validate these borders, it's his not ours". Ezekiel says: "And if we start a war, we can do nothing against them" => fear for his people but perhaps also for the life of his son (reminder of the threat of Alpha to Ezekiel according to my theory).
3rd stage: speech between Michonne and Ezekiel: "I should have anticipated, evacuate earlier (the kingdom)". Why did not he do it? (feeling guilty during those months of going to the hilltop after secretly betraying them to save his son and his family?).
Michonne: "This woman was able to infiltrate us because we did not know each other." Look well, Ezekiel clearly drops his eyes. "It must not happen again." Ezekiel turns to Michonne and looks guilty.
Michonne's speech is very striking (compared to a traitor Ezekiel): "These people are no more than yours, they are ours, and we will bring them back." Reference to episode 15 that I speak in theory (Ezekiel betrays other communities).
Reply Ezekiel: 'If they see us through, it will go wrong' (implied: the threat of Alpha on the life of Henry he can not confess).
Michonne: "Then we will not be seen". Very concerned look of Ezekiel.
4th step: the scene of the "pickes". Ezekiel looks at those on the hilltop. Like a person who thinks of his betrayal of Tara and his family. He does not bear a single second eye on the one where there was his son, not a single second while he loved more than anything (strange?).
At the same time to differentiate completely, we see Lydia remains frozen and sad in front of the "picke" Henry where she had placed the famous medallion H (Henry and hope) a few months earlier.
Step 5: Alpha tells Beta "I need to be stronger" and she gets whipped by Beta. Reference to the fact that she did not kill her daughter (and maybe Henry). Just behind is the plan with Ezekiel that appears.
Ezekiel to Judith: 'to leave one's place of life is not to leave one's home.' It could be interpreted in the sense of Henry who has gone from the sedentary world of the Kingdom to the nomadic and "animal" of the whisperers .
Judith: "you said it." Ezekiel is in his thoughts (does he think of Henry, who is in the whisperers during that time?).
I add this too:
I forgot to say it but there is also this moment in the episode 15 when Tara says goodbye to hers who go to the hilltop, she says to them "I remain to refine the details of the pact and I join you". So she probably saw Ezekiel again (that's where she was probably trapped.) I put you for example the 2 images of the scene of the spades in episode 16 (red = hill, green = Henry) . it is striking to the eyes but for miles. And it's impossible to believe that Ezekiel does not know which of the pikes is his son's. Months passed, even Lydia came to collect herself.

Alpha had to punish for his daughter. The first logical victims are those of the hilltop (pact not respected). For Henry, Ezekiel had to beg and find an "agreement" by trapping several people from the hill. This is what would be tragic because it is totally the opposite of what he said before the beginning of the fair "this fair brings us together for the common interest". You will also notice right after his speech his very worried look at Carol, who is searching for Henry. He goes to see her and says, "I should come, it's my duty, I'm his father." Saving one's son is a personal interest that comes before the common one of the communities. Hence an even more tragic betrayal coming from him.
The face is forced to look a little otherwise it would not pass. Scenario, you will notice that Henry is the only character (of the 7 kidnapped dead) searched for the night and not the day and he appears last on the spades. Obviously this makes the episode even more tragic but we can also say that it was he who was to go last and that Siddiq was knocked out just before. Because Siddiq was at the hill. When Michonne's group finds it, you will notice that from where they are (and standing), they do not see the spades! They must climb several meters to begin to see the famous heads. And Siddiq was attached to him and seated!
Another point: Alpha still concludes a deal (episode 10-11). This one with Ezekiel is more than possible because until now she had never met him (the life of his son against members of the hill, who did not respect the pact). When Beta tells Daryl that the bargain is dead (make the girl what he betrays Henry and Lydia with him and Connie), he speaks well of the hill. It is also a very important thing to note.
Alpha could see during episode 12 that her daughter is in love with Henry. When she talks to Daryl in episode 15, we see that she still holds to her (he still has a small part of humanity). Also keeping the boy alive puts several things: threatening Ezekiel not to cross the border, to make his daughter suffer by thinking of his death but also to see in Henry (now in the pack) Lydia just as Carol sees in Lydia his son Henry .
Other details: Alpha asks for winter clothes in Ezekiel. Outside of episode 16, we see that the whisperers do not have one and have just migrated (it's a pack, Lydia told Henry that their camp was temporary). And the story of Siddiq being knocked down on the hill to be bound 100 meters down is too big. And also the scene where Alpha comes in front of Daryl, we see that between the barn and that moment, she had given her mask (traces on her face) and has the knife full of blood. Off we know that she kills and decapitates her victims with her thread (the whisperer in episode 12). That also challenges, why remove it too dry? Where had she gone with? Especially since she takes Daryl alone to the pack without his mask, pretending to be a ranger to approach and kill a stranger (or one of his own) or to decapitate a "guardian". She says "I had some obstacles on the way". This sentence is not insignificant and implies something, but note that she joins her "new camp" (as she says) where are prisoners Daryl and the others well after their capture. She took care of something in particular. The 10 people? Impossible. To knock out Siddiq with a knife? Certainly not. One possible case (Henry), find a "replacement" and thus conclude the pact (this is reminiscent of community pacts at the beginning of the episode) she did with Ezekiel. This one did his part (betray the hilltop), Alpha does his.
Throughout the season, we also see that she is still trying to address the leader, whether it's Hilltop (episode 11) or episode 15 when Daryl says they speak with one voice. Ezekiel is king so the leader and this is the first time she really addresses an "enemy leader". A small detail script to emphasize. When she wants her daughter in episode 11, she makes it clear that despite the deaths and that Daryl and his family have encroached on her territory (she says it already, no need to wait for episode 15), "he does not There will be no conflict "if both parties respect the market. Facing Ezekiel, she traps him and finds someone with whom she is not in conflict. But her son (whom she knows) is the perfect argument to force Ezekiel to enter into a "deal" with her. And this one is very expensive. The hilltop, which has not respected his, will pay the price.
Another troubling detail also in episode 15. When the cart is attacked for Alpha to infiltrate the fair, Daryl and the entire gang (including Henry and Lydia) are en route to Alexandria and are not in the Kingdom. Alpha goes there to visit out of curiosity as she says afterwards. I think she planned to kill people on the hilltop already with her whisperers (market recall that Daryl did not respect => conflict). And it was there that she discovered Henry and Lydia and she and her whisperers were able to take advantage of the opportunity and kidnap Henry (plumbing) and threaten Ezekiel (plumbing) to conclude this new pact and betray the hilltop.
I remember that the whisperers know absolutely no Alexandria and they have just discovered the Kingdom. They mostly know the hill. It is also on the hilltop-kingdom ride that the couple at the beginning of episode 15 is massacred.
