YES, mere Christianity is SO good and packed full of theological truths. I just started a Christian Girl Channel as well. 💕 I love your recommendations!
This is a fantastic idea for a video! I love Jefferson Bethke; I have one of his books and need to get my hands on his other one. I also own Mere Christianity but have yet to read it. And oh my gosh I literally just finished reading Deepening Your Conversation with God and it was absolutely fantastic, definitely a must read for Christians 😁
Oceana did you choose the frame for the video on purpose or by accident? You're reviewing "Escaping vampire "and behind you is the "Twilight" saga 😀 so cool it came out.
Bethke's testimony was one of the most engaging parts of Jesus > Religion. I agree that C.S. Lewis' writing is strong intellectually. Shows how important his work was in the 20th century (and still is today). Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Hope to see more non-fiction books from you.
Jesus > religion is AMAZING!! I just finished a newer book by him called to hell with the hustle. All about how to slow down and enjoy life and take time for important things. It's not what you think is good too. I haven't read wild grace, but I love max lucado. Love does is great!
A basic Christian history book. I'm unsure about one bringing up to the present- later Kenneth S Latourette's 2 volume A History of Christianity. Great stories. Important for apologetics and context. 'Letter from a Birmingham Jail' by Martin Luther King Jr. preferably in a book of his sermons. Also, 'The Art of Bible Translatipn' as a prelude to Richard Alter's great 'The Hebrew Bible" loaded with puns, word plays, major rabbinic commentors. Using word choice, dialect, rhythm, syntax (word Order) and other aspects of bible writing should be considered in translation. Connections between stories are often erased through poor translation. And the riches available are immense. The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The Diary of Anne Frank. Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. Beautifully and Wonderfully Made by Paul Brand, a hand surgeon who helped lepers and his Christian walk. Thanks for your gracious and cheerful hosting of this channel.
correction: Fearfully and Wonderfully Made by Paul Brand. Also The Gift of Pain by Paul Brand and Philip Yancy - lepers couldn't feel pain (I know one form of the disease is now curable and preventable).

I just bought When God Pursues a Woman’s Heart and it is amazing so far. I’m in love with it. The exercises are so beautiful! Cried a few times 😊
