Oooh, I need to add some of these to my TBR! Also, a bit off topic: I found The Testament at a Little Free Library this morning and I grabbed it because I know that you enjoyed it.
I LOVE THE RAGAMUFFIN GOSPEL !!! I own and and want to reread it this year!! I read Brennan Manning’s other book “Abbas’s child” in 2020 and totally forgot to put in on my favorites list. I think you would love Abbas child !! 🥰 I so love hearing your heart !! I can totally relate to trying to earn past of God’s love I definitely want to check out “I dared to call him Father”!!
Loved this book list. There are a few books that I wanted to read too as I am trying to get into biographies ans autobiographies this year. I have been reading "Gentle and Lowly" and it has been SO GOOD. It's about about Christ's character and relationship with us. Thanks for the content.
So many good recommendations Oceana!! Thank you, this is a great resource! I haven’t read any of these and I’m interested in many of them, so that’s really exciting! 💞
I think 90 minutes in Heaven was so heart wrenching for me. Getting to see Heaven then getting sent back to earth. It would be quite difficult to reconcile.
I dared to call him father was such a good book, my sister read it and told me to check it out ,my sister doesn't read books much especially theology.. but she loved this book I can say it had it's impact.. just couldn't get to read it as I was all into Christian fiction for a while .. had to mention it though .. Thank you so much for recommending Becky Wade after reading My stubborn heart of hers I read another 3 books of hers.. they were so good , I enjoyed them so much.. my stubborn heart and meant to be mine are my favorite. Anyways i dared to call him father was a hidden gem, Glad to see you shared it
My favs of 2020 were Get Out of Your Head and It's Not Supposed to be This Way by Lysa Terkurst. She has another one out about forgiveness I want to read this year. And honestly, I have questions about His grace because Hebrews 10:26 scares me to death.
I've heard great things about Get Out of Your Head :) I'm glad you had some non fiction that you loved in 2020! I just read Hebrews 10:26. I believe that God does not condemn us for the sins we commit in the moment because he sees when we return to him. If there was no grace for our daily sins, we would have no hope. Jesus' blood covers over our sins and makes us right before God despite our sin. I struggle with fearing that my sin separates me from God and that he judges me for it, but I believe that his love and grace are strong enough to forgive me and help me try again.
“I Dared To Call Him Father” is a great book and you can order it from Voice of the Martyrs website. I read it years ago. They have a lot of great books similar to that one. I, also, read “Selling Allah Finding Jesus” last year and it was in my top books for 2020.
I love this video. Thank you for sharing. I have to say this is something we struggle with throughout our lives. We sin everyday and feel guilty for it but God never looks away. I am in my 50s and still struggle with this. Seeking Allah, Finding God sounds like Lee Strobel's conversion from atheism to Christianity. I can relate to your experience with choosing 1st grade. I was given the choice between 6th grade and 3rd grade my first year as a teacher and I chose 3rd because I was afraid of the older kids. God guided me through the years from 3rd to 6th to middle school, and now, I have been in high school for 15 years and I love it. I was meant to teach high school but never would have chosen it for myself. God chose it and it is the best for me. Amen to all your comments!
Nabeel Qureshi died from cancer when he was 34 years old. One of the last things he posted on social media was a video in which he encouraged others to engage in respectful interfaith dialogue. He said "As you consider my ministry, I hope it leaves a legacy of love,of peace, of truth,of caring for one another. That's my hope and my purpose ..."

Thank you for sharing this Liz! Wow, what a testimony of how God knows what we need better than we do
Those all sound really encouraging 🙂
